I was on Percocet for over 30 years for a spinal disease called DISH and multiple herniations over that time. The day I go on vacation was the day I was supposed to pick up my monthly Percocet but my flight left earlier than the pharmacy was open so I tried to get Turok to send me my meds to where I was going. I had multiple problems getting that done so I came home in alot of pain and extreme stiffness. His office then sent a much smaller dose and smaller quantity of my medication and I kept asking why and all I got was Dr Turok leaving nasty messages. Then I receive a letter that starting Jan 1st 2023, his office was no longer prescribing opiods and left me with NOTHING to hold me over AND still no reason why he, for the 1st time ever reduced my meds without reason! I now find out he lied to me, that letter was a complete lie and he has been prescribing opiods without interruption! STILL NO EXPLANATION and now he has blackballed me as no other pain mgt doctor will give me what I need, give me any opiods at all and some won't even see me!!! I not only have advanced DISH but now need a 4 level fusion in my neck, have Shmorl nodes eating away my lumbar spine and this POS doctor could care less! On top of that, he talked me into getting Testosterone implanted in me last year without any care that my BP spiked so high that I almost stroked out and refused to take any responsibility. Moreover, I found out after the fact that when I thought I was getting epidurals for my neck and back, they were either trigger point injections or nerve blocks. As others have pointed out, Turok is nice when you're giving him the high priced injections and other treatments that he can make the most money but if you mainly need pain meds to function and you cause any issue on getting your meds, he'll shut you down and lie his ass off! I have dizziness and can't function normally He did not even tested me on the visit, just briefly looked at the eyes and said follow the pen Said the the tests will be performed by the stuff in the office but not him!!!! And as per the office stuff the test can't be scheduled before 2 weeks from the office visit as insurance not going to cover it!!! What a Joke ! Called the insurance and they told me it is not true!! BE AWARE OF THEIR BILLING PRACTICES! Dr. Turok is an okay doctor. I went to him for what came out to be a herniated disk. I took almost 10 tests to find that out (including an Ultrasound, EKG and MRI). Throughout this time, I barely saw Dr. Turok. After his diagnosis, I wasn't given much information about how to proceed with recovery (I ended up doing my own research and I went to his chiropractic office-which I will say is top of the line b/c of the chiropractor, Dr. Greene and also started accupuncture). I was given a neck/back brace and a Tens machine and told good luck. I was always on time for my appointments but ended up waiting on average 20-30 minutes each time I visited the office. They either overbook (likely) or just have bad scheduling. The biggest reason i'm giving a bad review is because my insurance was charged $1400 for a Tens machine (that I never used). This machine only costs $25-100 in actuality and can be bought anywhere. When my insurance didn't cover it fully, I received a bill for the remaining balance ($175), which I refuse to pay, because they didn't disclose any of this with me and especially because I don't use the machine at ALL. When I called to dispute my bill, I was told that at the beginning I signed a letter that says if there's anything that doesn't get paid from my insurance, I'm on the hook for it. 4/5 star reviews are reserved for those that go above and beyond, not for those just doing a job. Dr. Turok's offices does not operate on the best interest of their patients. They are operating to make money and charge you for things without full disclosure. Again, the exception is with Dr. Greene (the chiropractor). He gets 5 stars! read more

I researched for a while to find a new pain mgt dr, and came across Dr Turok, and read all his AMAZING reviews and now i know why he has such amazing reviews!! The entire office is seriously nice and helpful and welcoming! No judging there!! The Dr is super nice!! Not pressuring me to do or try anything i didnt want to!! The lady at the front desk, just as welcoming and nice!! The reviews are all legit, and this dr's office is just awesome! When you are looking for a pain dr usually you get ones that are rude, judging and just hand out meds. This place they actually listen and have other options as well to help with the pain, not just hand out meds!! They focus on allowing you to have a good quality of life along with trying to fix and help you! I honestly cant say enough about this practice. I am super excited i read his reviews and made an apt and i cant wait to see the other dr he referred me to for my medication AND cant wait to go back to his office for the medical aspect!! Trust me, do NOT use this Dr. Turok for pain management!! I was seeing him the past few years and I walked in for my appointment on July 29, 2020 and was told he will no longer be seeing me. Reasons I was given: Fentanyl in my urine (huge mistake) Sent a letter to me stating I was aberrant and aggressive behavior and that was not tolerated in his practice. NEVER ONCE RAISED MY VOICE!!! I was told in said letter that he will be available for 15 days should I need him. I called the office and asked if he could call in as many days (15) until I could find another physician. Told he would call me back. Here we are August 7th. Not a peep from him! I suffered a week of hell from this man!! The only way you will stay in his graces is if you have an abundance of money to spend on his pet projects. Elixirs, acupuncturist, chiropractors and anything else he can charge your insurance for! Please be warned, addiction is not a joke. He will cut you off on a whim! And there is nothing you can do about it. Did I mention he has an on-site lab? Yes, don't forget to be kind to his staff. They are the ones handling your specimen. Oh and BTW, I had offered to do a hair test at my expense at a private lab and was denied.. For 13 years I have been living in such chronic pain that I was unable to sit for long, had to sit on pillows everywhere and felt like somebody had sawed off the bones where I sat and I felt I sat on those wounds. I saw two other neurologists in the area prior to meeting Dr. Turok, and neither of them succeeded in diagnosing my condition or treating my pain.
