My insurance company informed me many times she accepted the EOB and she submitted the claim as in network so I would only owe my 2 co-pays. I'm getting threatening messages about being sent to collections and being charged 18%APR on a balance that isn't owed!!!!!! She will not answer my insurance company as they have tried to reach out to her several times. I sent my payment for the co-pays and she sent it back. I was advised again from my Insurance company to send my co-pays, so I did and she continues to send emails saying I'm going to collections and 18%APR has been charged. I WILL FIGHT THIS UNTIL THE END. SHE WILL NOT RUIN MY CREDIT OVER MONEY I DO NOT OWE!!!!

I am writing this on behalf of my mother who was a patient of this woman for many years. My mother…read morewas a loyal patient for many years paying extra to be a boutique customer although was frequently sent to E.R. for breathing complaints hospitalized overnight then discharged home without an office visit first. This was incredibly frustrating to family as home care not available due to short hospital visits nor resulted in specific diagnosis or helpful recommendations. I requested this M.D. sign paperwork for FMLA as E.R. visits were becoming more frequent but M.D. avoided signing despite multiple requests to do so. I found this highly unusual but not as shocking as my mother being discharged from her care abruptly at the beginning of COVID pandemic in CT. We were told that due to illness she planned to retire within 30 days and my mother needed to find another doctor within that time frame. Somewhat confusing to me she stated she planned to continue with a few patients but not my mother. No lists of recommended M.D's taking on new Medicare patients was suggested nor referrals to appropriate professionals based on her knowledge of my mother's health care needs was provided. Unfortunately but not surprising my mother was informed that M.D. practices were not accepting new patients until later in the year after she attempted to make an appointment. I write this only to caution other elderly patients so that they may avoid being dropped in this way by a trusted provider. Difficult at any time but exponentially worse during the worst pandemic of the last century.

Dr Strayer was recommended to me by my yoga teacher, who says he has healed her in one visit on 3 occasions, and I expected he would be something like a chiropractor. When pressed, in fact, he describes himself as a cross between an MD and a chiropractor... but he's something different altogether. An extremely well-informed, highly trained, highly skilled (he does acupuncture and gentle kinesthetic manipulations), eastern-and-western-medicine-embracing healer. During our detailed interview and clothes-on checkup (thank you!), he figured out that I had a more serious medical condition than the one I was concerned about, and he also figured out how both were related to a previous condition which had persisted unnoticed by me. He's not part of any insurance network (though you can get out-of-network benefits if you have PPO insurance, and can charge to flexible spending if you've got it), so visits to Dr Strayer may be pricey, but he'll help you get as much treatment as you can through insured providers, and even if you only go for an initial consult, his advice will be worth it. He's a general practitioner, and also an expert in musculouskeletal issues and medical acupuncture. When necessary, he won't hesitate to recommend surgery or drugs, so you needn't worry about mumbo jumbo here.
