This has been our go to place for Chinese food since we've moved to the Riverbend area. Its the best food we've had. Staff is so friendly makes it a pleasure to continue supporting our favourite restaurant. read more

Amazing service, I love the food thank you so much. I think I found my favourite place.

At first didn't look too appealing... A little corner store Chinese food place. After walking in greeted by friendly staff I sat down at the only one table available. Girlfriend ordered what seemed to be enough for a small village but decent price $62. They gave us a huge box and at the end, it tastes great. So yes I recommend this place read more

Chinese is not really my thing - not since I was a teenager eating sweet-and-sour chicken balls on mall dates like they were escargot and coming home reeking like food court. These days, I generally prefer a cleaner palette and most Chinese food (correction: American Chinese food) is greasy, slimy, over-fried, and leaves you feeling bloated and sloven, like a mall rat with baby fat sticking like glue. Wok n' go is express Chinese that I can dial up when I don't feel like cooking and feel fantastic after I've eaten. They're programmed into my cell phone and have a presence in our home like a Portuguese mama who still comes over to cook for you but, alas, thankfully lives a full block away around the corner! The food is fresh and cooked right in front of you. The sauces are savoury and not slimy (which I've learned is the result of a marinating process called velveting that adds egg whites and cornstarch to change the texture of meats - an authentic eastern technique that, in my opinion, doesn't quite translate). So I can still stay awake and function without heartburn after I eat Wok n' go, but granted I don't go for the sumo meal; I stick with the tofu and veggies on rice and the green onion cakes and hot and sour soup. When I want to indulge, I go for the lemon chicken which is breaded but has quality chicken; and it's not your typical 70% breading 30% meat-morsel mix. There's more meat than fatty coating - so you can still enjoy, but not fall colluding victim to the revenge of baby fat (called obesity) that's sweeping our fast-food nation...faster than you can say, uh, "sweet and sour chicken balls," (which aren't, btw, even Chinese food!!) Baby fat belongs in the baby books. Wok n' go is a short walk from my house and I haven't derailed my body by eating their express fare on the fly. Thank you, Wok n' go, for the integrity of your food, and your fast, friendly service. I enjoy reading trashy mags in your store front while waiting for my take-out order to be called. You even know my name. read more

Wok N' Go - Wok n' go with no regret. - Chinese Near Me - Edmonton, Alberta

I stopped going here years ago as the "chicken" started to taste weird. Actually it tastes nothing like chicken, doesn't come apart the way chicken does, has a weird smell and consistency and was starting to make me think it isn't chicken at all. Decided to give it another try and yeah, no change at all except somehow it's more expensive now. Literally the most expensive Chinese food in town yet somehow also the poorest quality. Take your business elsewhere. read more

This is our go-to Chinese food place. The owners are so friendly and value repeat business. The food is excellent in both taste and quality. Very busy little place, mostly take-out although you could eat in if you wanted. We've been going here for probably 5 years a couple times a month. Rarely do we order from anywhere else because whenever we think "Chinese food" we naturally want Wok n Go. They do not deliver, and that used to bother me but honestly, it's so good we just go get it. read more

I've been visiting Canada for about 4 years now. I live in Southern California. It's interesting trying to find the Chinese food that I'm used to. It's much different over here. Especially the chow mein. LETS REWIND FIRST. I purchased the chowmein last year when I visited...and I'm very sorry but it was watery and gross. The skinny noodles I am not used to with chow mein...and I had also bought hot and sour soup and chicken balls. The hot and sour soup was way to thick and the taste was not so great :( Way too much corn starch (or however they thicken their soup). The chicken balls were 80% dough (very donut like) and 20% chicken. I just didn't find them appealing. FAST FORWARD! Okayso the other day, I purchased a mini family meal so it would last a few days. And it did. The chinese food is still way expensive in Canada than So Cali. I paid $32CAD including tax and in California, for the same amount of food I received I would have paid half. Okay lets get into the taste test. I ordered Hot n Sour soup again, hoping that some how it would be better. And to my surprise it WAS! I was also surprised to see that they added a few more items to their menu. The soup was great. I also ordered the Chicken and Mixed Greens. Now, it really does not look appealing AT ALL, however, when I ate it---it was like an explosion of flavours in my mouth. Very savoury and tasty. One of my faves now. I ordered Ginger Chicken...it reminded me of the consistency of the Orange Chicken I'm used to in the US...It was quite flavourful....but very very on the sugary side. It's rich in taste. I could only eat a few pieces on my plate at a time. It also came with your standard white rice and 4 spring rolls. Usually the spring rolls I ordered are not fried...it was more like your standard egg roll. I ate it. It was good, but not great. Considering the prices over here I suppose it was a good value. The food lasted me almost 3 days. Would I go back? I would but I will be skimping on the ginger chicken. **************************************** Service, The service was great. The girl was friendly. It's a small place. GOod for take out only, I wouldnt eat in there. There's only a few chairs --- good for waiting for your order. One disturbing observation I made was that there was a bin that was on the ground full of thawed out fried chicken pieces...and the cook was scooping them out from there and cooking them. It looked extremely unsanitary to say the least. The bin was quite small....way to close for the chicken to be close to the ground. They really need to change that... The hours are from 3pm to 9pm...a little odd. Closed weekends. 3 stars. Fair enough. Good, but not great or fantastic . read more

My favourite Chinese food. The only drawback is that my lazy ass has to drive there to pick it up. Their ginger beef is crispy and a little bit spicy, their home style rice noodles are delicious. The beef and greens has super fresh veggies in it that are still crunchy. I haven't found any other Chinese food close to home that compares in quality. The only miss is the green onion cakes, they're just not good. I also feel like it's super good value, our family of 4 can order the dinner for 2 and the rice noodles and it will be more than enough plus leftovers. It typically only takes about 15 min so I call, order and by the time I drive there it's usually ready! read more

My boyfriend raved about this Chinese fast food place because some guys he went to high school with had opened the restaurant a couple years ago. We went here and I was super impressed with the food. They have combo deals (pick 3 items.) and the food is made fresh and fast. My favorite here is the ginger beef. All of the food comes in the cute little Chinese take out boxes too. This place is so out of the way for us, but whenever we are near the north side and we drive by this location, we are tempted to sneak in. Most times we give in to our temptations too. read more

Recently order take out. Have used the Wok House of a fair amount over the past couple of years. Have found the quality of the food and volumes has decreased quite a lot and now plan on finding a different restaurant for Chinese food. Usually Chinese food is cut up into bite size pieces but much of the vegies we large and had to be cut with a knife. Too bad, really used to enjoy their food and had recommended to quite a few other people, I guess that stops. Egg rolls are still the best. read more

I went here while suffering from bronchitis and really wanted some wonton soup. The location was easy to get to, nice staff and quick service. The green onion cakes are quite heavy, and the place was not 'clean' as most but it was overall good and I will go back. read more

Picked up two dishes yesterday from the Riverbend location. Both were over salted mushy CRAP. Their quality has been deteriorating over the past months and now has hit bottom. Riverbend Square should terminate their lease and replace with a quality food outlet. read more

We ordered take-out from Wok N' Go this evening, first time from them. The lady was very pleasant and helpful on the phone, and in person. She answered a few questions I had, with patience and friendliness. We ordered a mini family pack, with steamed rice and spring rolls. For our 3 menu items, we ordered cashew chicken, chicken chop suey, and sweet and sour boneless pork. The spring rolls were perfectly crispy and quite tasty, with only a hint of grease. Some other places have spring rolls that the grease constantly drips from them, but not Wok N' Go. The cashew chicken was very good, with plenty of cashews too! The boneless pork was above average, with plenty of green peppers in the sauce. The pork was cooked really well, so it wasn't really chewy, and easy to cut with a regular dinner knife. Now the chop suey. I'm not a fan of chop suey from most places, but buy it because my wife likes it. But I tried a few mouthfuls anyways, and liked it enough to put more on my plate. That says it was far better than most places! Great service, great food, decent prices. Now why not 5 stars? That's only because their website doesn't have any prices on its menu, nor does it mention the extra $2 charge for some special items, like cashew chicken. But the cashew chicken was really good, so it was well worth the extra $2. We will definitely return! read more

I had been a regular patron of this restaurant for quick take away over the last couple years. However, tonight I stopped for my usual dinner for two and discovered it had changed. They had something similar but I had to pay extra to substitute the ginger beef for the chicken balls. They prepared the meal while I waited and then I took it home. I was surprised to see the portions were about one third what they had previously been. They no longer used the cute little Chinese cardboard take away boxes. Instead it was in unenvironmental styrofoam. My disappointment deeper when I tried the food. The dry garlic ribs were greasy and fatty. The ginger beef was relatively without sauce and the beef and greens was fairly tasteless. The place must be under new ownership. It was a sad day that my standby Chinese take out is no more. I will never go back. Totally depressed in Riverbend read more

Overall the experience was good but the tofu pot was a little bit disappointed. They are not using the tradional Tofu but just the dried tofu skin. The chicken, the honey baked pork chop we ordered were great and the price is reasonable. Service is excellent, all waitness are friendly and helpful so made it five star. read more

Not really a "eat in" place, just a couple of tables to sit at while you wait for your order. I had Singapore noodles, plain fried rice and chicken in black bean sauce. Including a beverage my order was less than $28 (I have had three meals from it and STILL have leftovers). Everything was delicious. Definitely the best Chinese food I have had in a very long time. Veggies were fresh and tender-crisp and there was a lot of nice big pieces of chicken. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because it looks a little "divey" when you first walk in. However, I am very impressed with the quality and quantity of food and that you can see your order being prepared while you wait (my order was ready in less than 10 minutes). read more

They have the best Chinese food, it's a to go place only open during delivery hours, i always get the combination b, it's prepared fresh and comes with lots of food most of the time it's too much but who doesn't love left over Chinese! .. The prices are good as well. read more

As far as take out chinese food goes, this is our go to place. My favorite is the sweet and sour chicken, and the hot n spicy(I think thats what its called, its fried in a batter with veg) srhrimp (although i with they gave you more shrimp). My husband likes the satay beef, but IMO the beef is a little chewy. All in all i recommend this place. Its fast and tasty read more

We had the Vegetable Chow Main and the Pad Thai, Vegetable chow mein had one piece of brocoli a couple mushrooms and bok choy, very litle and not so good. For the Pad Thai it said it was suppose to have Rice and noodles with sauteed vegetables. What I received was Noodles with a couple pieces of chicken and bean sprouts and onions for the vegetables. Ended up throwing 80% of the food in the garbadge. And having toast for dinner instead. They are now on my list of places not too eat. read more

One of my favorite Chinese take out restaurants in Edmonton! They have an extensive gluten free menu and are good with allergies. Quick and friendly service and their food never disappoints. My go to is their Thai noodles and the portions are very reasonable for the price. read more

Very good westernized Chinese food. I had a bad experience here the first time I tried it. I mean REALLY bad. But I have to say they've redeemed themselves since. The food is consistent, and delicious. The service is always friendly, and the people there really seem to enjoy making customers happy. Who doesn't love to see that? Don't waste your time at the other Chinese restaurants near here-they can't compare to wok-n-go. Highly recommend. read more

By far, the worst Chinese food I've ever ordered. The chicken balls were as hard as rocks, the noodles were old and hard....barely any veggies in any of the dishes. Ginger beef should contain more ingredients then just ginger, the flavour was overwhelming. The sweet and sour pork was ok until you get to the solid pork fat pieces mixed into the bunch. Under cooking shrimp is risky and unappetizing. A good chinese restaurant should at least get spring rolls right! Gross. I'll never go there again. read more

I made an account just to leave this review. I've ordered there for many years and it's decent, at best. They've forgotten side orders of rice multiple times and i would love it if there wasn't a hair in my dumplings! read more

I was curious to try Wok n' Go after reading the previous reviews. You have to shake your head at some reviewers... like the review three previous to this one by our American friend visiting from southern California. YAWWWWWNNNNN... another American has visited Canada and is going to tell us how backward we are and how much better things are in the good old U.S. of A. According to that reviewer, we don't know how to cook Chinese food in Canada like they do, and of course their prices are so much better than ours! Maybe we should close all of our Chinese restaurants here, get on our dogsleds and head to SoCal and learn how to cook and price it properly. I've eaten plenty of Chinese food in California, and in general, the quality and prices were comparable with ours (however there is some great Chinese food to be found in the heart of Chinatown in San Francisco). There are good and bad restaurants everywhere, and varying prices everywhere. Tourists like that one don't realize how much they show their ignorance when they make ridiculous comments like that. The food at this restaurant was quite good for speedy take-out. I am rating it as a "4" not because the food is outstanding, but because it was very good for what this restaurant is... a take out joint. It's not five-star dining. As far as take out goes, it's a really good meal and the service was good. Is it expertly cooked, authentic Chinese food in a restaurant with great ambiance? No, but that's not what they bill themselves as. read more

You walk up to the counter place your order like a fast food place. We waited 25 minutes for order. Everything was passed tough burnt tasty. And over price for the portion of food received.
