This is not an evaluation of JCi Gutter Services as a whole, merely a reflection of my experience…read more On 10/13/2022, I inquired about price, availability, and reliability to clean my gutters, and JCi subsequently committed to cleaning my gutters before winter in an email stating, "You got it!!!" [Emphasis JCi's.] On 12/20/2022, I emailed JCi noting that I'd apparently not made its list after all and that I'd look elsewhere for a reliable contractor. The response included an apology with excuses about workload and weather, and an offer that if the weather warms up he could "try to get out there" -- not exactly the 'firm' commitment he'd made in October, so I once again stated that he needn't worry about it as I 'd look for someone reliable. JCi emailed again late on 12/29/2022 with an offer that he "may be able to come by" the next day -- once again, not a firm commitment to actually showing up, so for the third time I responded that I'd look for someone else -- some reliable. JCi replied on 12/30/2022 that, "I wasn't really interested in working for you after that last email but I was going to fit you in...". And there it is -- with JCi, I am the bad guy despite being clear in my very first inquiry that I was looking for someone RELIABLE. I am the bad guy despite the fact that JCi failed to keep a firm commitment to clean my gutters before winter [There's a word for that, and it's not "Reliable"]. I am the bad guy because JCi couldn't be bothered to let me know they couldn't keep their commitment [Reliable? Guess again!]. I am the bad guy here because I have this outdated notion that fulfilling one's commitments and keeping customers informed are actual evidence of being reliable -- not promises that I'll "try to get out there" and I "may be able to come by", all the while hedging your actual level of commitment by noting there are still other customers still needing service.

Classic asks for 10% down and the rest on completion. I gave them the 10% September 11, 2014, and…read morethey did not start the deck until November. They promised to make the interior trim for the patio door similar to other interior trim, but they just put up some flat boards and didn't even miter the corners. The exterior trim around the floor of the deck was rippled. The upper and lower bolts holding one of the patio doors in position would not operate properly. The deadbolt lock in the other door was inoperable. The space under the deck was inaccessible. The deck is 6 feet off of the ground, and they had said I would be able to easily access that space for utility maintenance and storage. They finished the basic deck November 2014, but it was July 2015 before they had corrected most of the problems. I say 'most' because apparently they have no intention of creating easy access to the space under the deck. Their idea of making it accessible was for me to bend and remove side panels and put them back. Repeated use like this would warp them and even possibly crack them in cold weather. And even if you use this type of access, there is a framing cross piece that forces you to crawl in on all fours. During the time between November 2014 and July 2015 the company pressured me for payment even though their stated policy is 10% down and the rest on completion. I finally gave in and paid them a few thousand in March 2015, but I was afraid to pay them more for fear that I would never see them again. Classic's price was higher than anyone else's, but I went with them because they were an experienced business with (I thought) a good reputation. I am very disappointed.

My biggest issue with them was the sales person. He flat out lied. He promised brown and slipped "clay" into the contract. He even went so far as to say that they would paint them brown, but lied again when I spoke with him afterwards, denying that he said that. You might want to audio record your conversation with their sales people. I wish that I had. Then the field supervisor and person who came out to correct the small error said that they don't have brown in this area. The customer service rep that I called indicated that they do have brown, and multiple searches online also indicated that they have brown as an option. The product seems good, but the deception is completely unnecessary and frankly offensive.

My 87-year old mother-in-law with dementia, of course, had no resistance and she signed a $10,000 contract on a modest sized house. So scammy! So unscrupulous. She doesn't have $10K and so will probably be turned out of her house. They are preying on the elderly. CROOKS. Even if for some reason you decide you want gutter guards, don't support these predators and send your support elsewhere.
