The overall product looks good. Installation took about 3 1/2 hours. There was a minor issue with one spot, that the company fixed a couple of days later. My biggest issue with them was the sales person. He flat out lied. He promised brown and slipped "clay" into the contract. He even went so far as to say that they would paint them brown, but lied again when I spoke with him afterwards, denying that he said that. You might want to audio record your conversation with their sales people. I wish that I had. Then the field supervisor and person who came out to correct the small error said that they don't have brown in this area. The customer service rep that I called indicated that they do have brown, and multiple searches online also indicated that they have brown as an option. Leaf Filter Syracuse ran a high-pressure sales pitch on my 87-year old mother-in-law with dementia. As others have pointed out here, their pitch is to start high to catch the vulnerable and come down to more reasonable prices if they experience resistance. My 87-year old mother-in-law with dementia, of course, had no resistance and she signed a $10,000 contract on a modest sized house. So scammy! So unscrupulous. She doesn't have $10K and so will probably be turned out of her house. They are preying on the elderly. CROOKS. Had this company come out a few years ago and give us an estimate to have the leaf filters installed. The salesperson was very pushy because at first we only wanted to do one side of the house. He said that it would be more cost effective to do both at once instead of one at a time since the travel distance from Rochester to our location is so far. We agreed and were quite surprised when the guys that came to do the original installation were from a couple of towns away. Contractors with a private vehicle which seemed a bit unprofessional. Had them come out to do a repair where the corners where the sections meet were beginning to pop up and we were charged for a service call. Now the screen mesh came off and not only do they want to charge us for an initial inspection but they also want to charge us again for materials and labor when they come to do the repair. They do not stand by their warranty and you will be expected to pay for anything that comes up. read more

The best that we have seen! We have been interested in having gutter guards installed for quite some time. Until we agreed to a demonstration by LeafFilter we had never seen the systems available or a demonstration of how the worked. When all was said and done we not only understood the system, but the installation process as well. The staff, salesperson and installer were well prepared for our questions and concerns. Leaf Filter They are the WORST. Never had a bit of water running down the side of the house. They came in did their thing they have been back twice after that. All they did was add more screws and rubberized caulk. The water is still running between the gutter and the side of the house. They now are claiming the roof is to blame, not according to the home inspection that was 1 year old at the time of this install. It's been requested numerous times they remove all of their product and process a refund those requests have been ignored. Starting the processes of filing complains anywhere & everywhere. I don't mind a sales pitch but this was way over the top. It reminded me of that dreadful Ziebart company with the high pressure sales and not taking no for an answer. It's a concern when the price starts really high and unrealistic and as you walk away it dramatically decreases by 50-70% I can only imagine how many seniors accidentally pay way too much for work and materials. The work is also contracted out by quickly trained people that otherwise had no prior experience with this product. That's not mentioned however. Unfortunately I scheduled a meeting to get a quote without checking this organization's rating (a mistake I will not make again!!). The first warning I had was when he requested that all of the "decision makers" be present for the visit. Then he showed up, looked around and wanted to meet with me for 20 minutes to go over the quote. I told him he had five and that I don't need a sales pitch. He told me he isn't allowed to do that at which point I escorted him out the door. Based on the reviews, the BBB report, and the attitude of the salesperson - this is clearly not an organization that I prefer to do business with. The sales presentation was excellent until the hard sale came. There was no need for it because we had already decided to go with them. A neighbor has the system and I was impressed. I didn't like Gutter Guard. Well the service was great. Justin was the installer, he was courteous and knowledgeable. He did the job by himself in about 4 hours. He left the property spotless. I wasn't going to write a review until I saw them work in a rain storm. Well last night we had a large cold front come through bringing torrential rain and wind. Buying Leaf Filter was the worst decision that I have ever made. The product seemed good during the sales pitch. At that time I could see the value in the product. I was set up to have my product installed on 9/29 and as of today (11/19) it still is not completely installed, per our contract. It has been a hassle getting them to finish. I have called their company 12 times and have been promised 2 appointments in the last 2 weeks. One 11/13 no one called or showed up and 11/18 no one called or showed up. This is after I called and talked to a regional manager James on 11/16, who assured me he would make sure someone was at my home first thing yesterday morning. They did send someone out on 11/17 to park across my driveway and harass me at my home. When the man was there I called James and was treated poorly. James' exact words were " Ma'am, you are not going to talk to my employees like that." That is not how you talk to a lady. If I were a man the conversation would have been different. Horrible Service We had leaffilter gutters installed in late March; it took 4 calls to actually get them to come for the installation. The day and time they gave us at the sales appointment came and went without even a phone call from them. They removed a gutter that we had on our lanai saying that it was not needed and promised that it was sealed well. Now the roof is leaking, and after more then 5 calls and promises of them coming to fix it, they have not made it yet. Totally disappointed with the service for the high price we paid! The Leaf Filter Company pitched their product to my elderly mother in Perinton, NY last week. When she wasn't sure if she had the money, the "helpful" salesman called the bank for her. Yes, you read that correctly. He coached my mom to give her permission to the people at the bank to disclose her account balances to the predator in her kitchen, making the call. My mom signed the contract Tuesday afternoon when she learned she had the funds. The first thing Wednesday morning, the job was done. When I found out on Wednesday morning that people were doing work on my mom's home. I called the guy 3x and he never called me back. He still hasn't, and that's an even more twisted part of the story. I then went to my mom's to try to figure out what happened and she literally had a breakdown with fear and anger over what happened, and I had to call 911. My mom was inconsolable and taken by ambulance to the hospital. It was then determined that she is not considered safe to return to her home of 30+ years, that is in a neighborhood she has lived in for over 50 years. Did I call the company? Yes!! Leaf Filter took $300 off for the inconvenience. Our lives have been turned upside down, and my mom cannot return to her home as a direct result of the actions of an irresponsible, greedy, employee(s) of Leaf Filter. They took complete advantage of my mom. I want everyone to be aware of what Leaf Filter did to my family, before it happens to someone else. read more

The sales guy was like a used car salesman, he came down in price 3 or 4 times and then came back telling me his boss really wanted the job. The price was went down to about 25% of the original quote with a lifetime warranty transferable to the next owner of the home. I will say the system works pretty well. However, after the installation I called to report that a few spots were leaking. I was told that it was under warranty and was then transferred to someone else who took a bunch of information, scheduled a date and time for someone to come out to our home and then asked, "How will you be paying for this?". I said I thought it was under warranty and she said that the service call was not covered. So I've got a warranty but have to pay for repairs? We had leaf filter screens installed in our rain gutters recently and so far, so good as far as their performance. I have noticed some debris buildup on top of the screens but the hope/expectation is that they will eventually blow off and not collect in any significant way which impairs the gutters. There have been a few heavy rains since the installation and I haven't noticed any issues. Service was excellent for us. I have no complaints there. The salesperson was friendly and personable, as was the installer. The installation also went very smoothly. I guess I won't know until Fall whether or not these things really work for us but again, so far my experience has been very positive. read more

After requesting a quote and I agreed to it, I put down $858.00 to have the system installed. This was October 29, 2019. They sent someone out to scope out the project. I have copper gutters with screens that do not keep the leaves out. The sales man assured me they could order what I needed for the job to install Leaf Filter. I did not have my gutters cleaned because I expected to have the work done. As the months went by the gutters were a mess of leaves and I could have had damage. After repeated calls, I was told that they needed to find come one to do the job. Not hearing from anyone I called the corporate office to check on the status. I received a text that I could call one of their competitors. I had to write and ask for my check back. Then in September 2020 I received my check back. I wrote to the corporate to explain what had happened. I have not received any response. I asked for Leaffilter gutter installation. The sales person Antonio said ~1200 dollars. I said that's fine, I'll pay after it is installed. He said if he lowers the price to ~750 will I write him a check today. Of course!! Turns out it was a scam. After they installed the gutters wrong, despite specific instructions, they never installed the Leaffilter. Time passes, gutters get clogged. They tell me I did not pay for leaf filter, they reviewed the contract with me, and everything was as they said it would be. Why would I call Leaffilter and not get the filter? Contract never reviewed because if he said you are not getting the filter I would have said "no deal". Talk with sales manager, John or Tom, and say FILTER is in your name why would I expect not to get them installed. He says gutters mean soffits and fascia board, did you expect to get those too? in a snarky voice. I thought, if your name was LeafSoffits or LeafFascia I would. Then the person said he would give me a great deal that I can't tell anyone about at $9,000. He tried to pressure me into signing a contract on the spot. We told him we would think about it just to get him to leave our house. He then called back later that night. I told him the price was too high. He came down to $7,620. I told him that was still to much and he gave me an even better deal at $4,150. He would not show me an itemized quote and there was nothing to substantiate the numbers he kept giving me. He kept dropping the price to get me to agree to hire him. The pricing should be transparent and uniform. I signed up to receive a quote while at a trade fair (let's face it, I just wanted a stamp from talking to a vendor so I could win a prize). Somebody called the next day to set up an appointment. An appointment was set up for the following day after that. Mitch B. came out and spoke with my husband initially, then I came home after they had already been talking for an hour and a half. We told Mitch that we don't make any major decisions the day of. He called and was able to get a Factory Direct quote (so once again the magic dollar amount continues to fall) from his boss; we reiterated that we will discuss it and decide. By now, Mitch's attitude has changed and packs up. He asked what we thought would happen when we made the appointment; why weren't we ready to make a decision at this appointment? I told him one thing that would have helped was having LOCAL people who have testimonies for their product. After he left, both my husband and I expressed our ill feelings towards the situation, we both feel very uncomfortable now after allowing this man into our home. DO NOT USE LeafFilter North in Rochester, NY!! Sales representative promised no subcontractors, LeafFilter employees only. On the scheduled day, a subcontractor showed up and within 5 minutes tore my front lawn up with his truck. We sent them away and cancelled the work. Also, we were told that the financing would be a 6.9% loan - today a VISA credit card showed up that they applied for in my name with a 28.99% interest rate and a yearly fee. Needless to say, I will be cancelling this credit card that I never agreed to. These guys are total con artists. read more

My experience with Leaf Filter was more nightmare than a dream. I signed up to have the highly rated Leaf Filter gutter guards put on including all new gutters and downspouts. The first crew showed up and put downspouts on that came down on angles, didn't match up with my drains, and put the filters on incorrectly. In fact one length of gutter had water sitting in it due to the gutter not descending the entire length to remove the water. The entire job from beginning to end was done wrong. The regional manager Nick Zaryk, from Rochester, came down after a week of complaining to him. He inspected the job and had another crew show up to fix it. That crew found more problems with the gutter system that I had not noticed. When Nick was told about the new issues,he replied via text, to not show this to the customer, it was never brought up. Nick was willing to just cover up the problem and hope I'd never know. This crew had more integrity than the first crew, and showed me the text from Nick. I immediately called the company and shared Nick's comment with them and that I no longer would deal with Nick Zaryk. I then had a third crew come in from Philadelphia all the way to Aurora, NY to completely take off the new gutters, guards, and fix the downspouts and replace them. The final result ended with me having to dig new tile lines, and three crews to put a simple gutter system on that took month to complete. I went to another home that had Nick Zaryk's crew work on it in the area. Same sloppy workmanship. Buyer beware Leaf Filter if Nick Zaryk is the one that sets up your installation. He has shown a pattern of cutting corners, and not having the best interest of the consumer in mind. From his comment concerning my job, he obviously doesn't care and is a terrible representative for this company. For those that have had Leaf Filter installed by Nick Zaryk, I ask you to get up on your roof, there's a good chance it wasn't done properly. In conclusion. My gutter system works fine and am so far happy with the results. But, the amount of time, frustration, and the way I was treated by the regional manager; I would not feel comfortable recommending this company as long as Nick Zaryk is working for them. read more

I called them for an estimate, little did I know these people were so bad at doing business. They begun by giving me a high estimate of "$2952 When I said ok sounds good I Schedule the work to be done on Monday 12 2019, but he was trying for Friday 9 2019 said no Monday or won't t do it he agreed. later I changed our minds not to have the work done he immediately went down "$2300.00". I said I will have to think about it some more and will let him know. So I agreed to have work down, but not til Monday as I was out of town on Friday he agreed. Well they showed up on Friday and did the work as my cameras went off. So I called Anthony M said what's going on he said sorry they did see the change in the date on the contract. So I get home Saturday do an inspection and man did they do a bad job. Drain gutters are Loose. One not even Fastened to the wall. All my drain gutter cups into the ground are all loosen. One don't even contact anymore. So Today called Corporate Office Zack, Troy, and Nick of course all are in a meeting. they said they call you back when done. Finally I get a hold my sales rep Anthony came over I was showing him everything they did wrong guess what his phone camera don't work he got frustrated blame the work installation manager and left nice job Anthony M never buying something from you again. I bought Leaf Filter. Long story short, the first contractors came to my house, and to say the least, they f**ked up my gutters. I called to get this fixed, so they sent out a second contractor. They made my gutters even worse as now they are leaking. I called JEREMY and had numerous conversations with him and sent him pictures of the damage to my home. He tried to claim that he wasn't aware of the situation and tried to tell me that everything was already taken care of. When I went to correct him and remind him that we had spoken many times before, he got very pissy with me and hung up on me. NEVER get Leaf Filter. Their office staff is unprofessional and unorganized. They don't install their own product so they hire out. The contractors that they hire can't do the job right. This was a waste of my money, that has burned an even bigger hole in my wallet as I now need to find someone who can repair the damage. After reading other reviews on this page, I can only ask, "Why is this company still in business?" The salesman came, and gave us a price that was 3-4 times what a local contractor would charge. At that price, we expected superior materials and service. We set up a time for the product to be installed. My husband took time off from work to be here. At the last minute, they called and said that the materials hadn't come in, and they would have to reschedule. When they did show up, it was in a beat-up unmarked pickup truck. They did not have the proper materials, my husband had to go to the store and buy the right fasteners. They said that they would be back the following day with the correct parts. They showed up with the wrong components again, and tried to make them fit. They drilled unneeded holes in the house, and attempted to install the gutters slanting uphill (until my husband stopped them.) One of them even said at one point, "I don't know how to do this". The downspouts are crooked, the corners are not in the right places, and to top it all off, one of them gave my husband attitude. My husband offered to pull the guy off the ladder and throw him into the road. I see that bad attitude is a recurring theme with the employees of this company. We have repeatedly tried to contact our salesman, and as soon as he knew he had a problem, he would not answer the phone. We did manage to get a "project manager" to come and look at the job, and he agreed that it was unacceptable. They also leak between the gutter and house. The "project manager"offered to have a crew come out and fix it. At this point in time, we don't want anyone from this company to touch our house. My husband asked for 1/2 of our money back.
