Cute, comfy spots to read and relax. Factory coffee cafe is located inside This is a Bookstore - they serve bagels, sammies, coffee and adult beverages. Walked across the sidewalk and visited Book Bug which is a children's book store. Again, a wide selection of books, comfy sitting space and a playhouse for the kiddos. Service was quick and everyone was friendly. I plan on visiting again next time I'm in the area.

I was in the Park Hills neighborhood dog sitting this week and almost missed Kazoo Books. I took a sharp turn in because I had to check it out. The staff is engaging and pleasant and they have load and loads of books, practically everything you would find in B&N for same value or less (they have preowned books too). I will always prefer to shop small business and now I have a perfect excuse to become a regular customer of Kazoo Books and you should too :)

But first, I want to let you know that this place is like the TARDIS. You will be astounded when you walk in and see what reading treasures await. Whether you're looking for a newspaper, magazine, graphic novels, or books of all genres, you will find it here. The owner, Dean (who is absolutely marvelous and a mainstay of our lovely town) can also special order any book you'd like. We've been to several events (before Covid), which were especially interesting. It is like going to a book chat and finding a room full of friends. I'm so grateful for this crucial business, right downtown, and open EVERY single day. I'm never far away from reading, thanks to them! Highly recommended.

Sometimes places like this can be quirky and charming depending on the proprietor, however, this was a straight-up episode of Hoarders. Floor to ceiling books with no organization. There were books and boxes all over, leaving little space to navigate through the aisles; and I'm not sure how one would find anything they were looking for as the man behind the counter did not seem interested in offering help. I quickly paid my respects to all of the neglected and horribly taken care of books in the store and found my way back to the exit.

All 3 were about traveling in America which is right up my alley because we typically go on one big trip a year. One of the books was specifically about National Parks and during our trip in June we plan to go to at least 3 National Parks. The store was very well organized and (despite probably being smaller) felt bigger than the Mishawaka location. Everything was easy to find and displayed nicely. Lots of books were even discounted, which was also nice. Employees were nice and made checkout easy. I do tend to prefer small/locally owned stores, but as far as Barnes & Noble go, this location is pretty cool.

Their selection of comics is colossal, the main reason we come back. Their game selection is also phenomenal and they even have a "game cage" for table top games to happen in store. Kids also have game and comic options as well as stuffed animals that are great for all ages. Staff is friendly, greeting us as we entered and various employees asking if we needed help with anything during our visit. We got what we wanted and continued our adventure. I'm glad we make FanFare a regular Kalamazoo stop and am already looking forward to coming back.

My husband loves both buying things here and trading in his trading cards that he has had graded. The owner is super cool and really knows his stuff about what comes in and out of his store. Whether you like TCG games, legos, Funko pops, comic books or even figurines, they will have something for you to get excited about. Definitely will be coming back sooner than later.
