Had two watch batteries replaced for $30 a piece! A high price, but the lady was quick and efficient.

A woman quickly was happy to help me. She looked at it under enlargement, then with great confidence said, "It's a blue topaz with little diamonds around the side, and the ring is (some)teen carat gold." Wow. My own personal Antiques Roadshow moment! And no charge, long-distance travel or waiting in line. She offered to clean it too, free of charge. I of course accepted!

Working with Morgan, I felt an instant connection and she made me feel comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas and guiding me through the entire process. The result of my custom engagement ring is something I never could have imagined. It's hard to put into words how truly beautiful the design is. It's absolutely stunning. I love having a unique piece that tells a family story and gives an heirloom a second life. Morgan's design experience brought my vision to another level. The design is modern, yet timeless and honors the original design integrity of the ring - with some edge. It's perfect. It's exactly what I wanted, without knowing what I wanted. If you're on the fence about an heirloom redesign - I highly recommend going into Nord and asking for Morgan. The possibilities are endless and the final product you'll get is something more beautiful than you've ever imagined. Lastly, the quality and craftsmanship of the Nord jewelers is best in class. This ring's story will live on forever and be passed down for generations.

Color me VERY, VERY happy!!…read more My ring had cracked; it is an heirloom brought over from the family jewelry store in Germany in the 1800s. I was so sad, and worried about the cost. Enter ALL the glowing recommendations for Rose Jewelers. I facebook messaged on Sunday, thinking that the store would reply to me later in the week but I'd just get it off my to do list. They responded right away, gave me a quote on repair based on photos I sent, and that was that. I dropped my ring off on Monday afternoon, and picked it up on Tuesday afternoon. SUCH fast service! It is beautiful, and very well-done. I am so happy. Besides high quality work and reasonable prices, the owners are very friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. This is such an excellent business...it is the epitome of a family-run, well-respected, excellent small business. Highly recommended! note: cash or check only

It started with my ring needed to be sized down. It was sent in to be resized 3 sizes down. We were told an estimate of 8 weeks. After 8 weeks we called to check on the status. We were told the ring the order wasn't properly placed, and the ring would need to be remade and we were given an estimate of 8 - 10 weeks. 11 weeks later, the ring came in, and was still too large. It needed to be sent in to get resized. We also picked out a wedding band knowing that the resizing seems to take some time. We were told it would be another 8 - 10 weeks. We were told we would be notified when either ring came in. 10 weeks later, we call to check on the status. The band was in. We never were notified. The engagement ring had a ship date of the next day, so it would be in within the next couple of days. We call a few days later and are told that the ring is going to be another 4 - 6 weeks. At this point, we are beyond tired of waiting for the ring. I haven't had my ring for most of my engagement, and will not have it at my shower. Our wedding is in May, and at this point I am wondering if I will even have my ring before the wedding. We asked the store for a return. I talked with a local jeweler who said they can make a ring for me within the next 4 weeks. Helzberg adamantly told us no, that we couldn't return the ring because it was purchased more than 30 days ago. We still don't even have it in our possession, yet we can't return it! The managers at the store that we have been dealing with , Kristin and Ashley, have not been very understanding. Ashley at one point was talking to my fiance extremely disrespectfully and told him that there has been a study that 75% of brides do not like their rings, and he is just going to have to deal with it. The issue is not the ring. The issue has been the service and the continued delays. I tried contacting Helzberg through the website 2 weeks ago, and have received no response. I tried their chat online, no one answered. Word of warning, go far in advance of any special date you may need your jewelry by.

Thankfully (for them) I was picking up an order and not entering to shop. Because if I hadn't already paid, I would have never given them my business. She was incredibly, and unnecessarily, rude - making me feel as though I interrupted her day; all because I didn't see her waving me in the security door. It may be worth having a buzzer or some sort of audible confirmation for the customer, so they know to pull on the door handle. This may prevent a customer from hearing, "I'm standing here - pressing a button", instead of "welcome to Jared", as they enter your store.

The rest, is about Jared and how they chose to end our relationship. I took my wife's wedding ring in to be resized on Saturday 4/29, no big deal, she was worried about leaving it, because it had never been away from her ring before, but I convinced her it would be fine (BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN DOING BUSINESS WITH JARED FOR OVER A DECADE) and they were good at what they do. I received a call on the day i was supposed to get the ring back, telling me that it was not ready and that I could have it back on Saturday May 6th. We arrived, it wasn't ready. Did some browsing. Waiting, went grocery shopping, came back. Bought a Mothers day present, stood around waiting while the lady started lying "she's just polishing it up" Then she tries to pass off A TOTALY DIFFERENT RING AS MY WIFE'S LIKE WERE IDIOTS AND RINGS DON'T REALLY HAVE A MEANING. All we wanted was it to be resized. So I collected what was left of the ring, returned what I had just purchased and we are done! I'll go find an actual jeweler to repair the damage.

We were not in a rush but excited to get a ring ordered. The sales lady that we had previously worked with seemed happy to see us but had obviously lost our quote, name number and all, and was flustered and soon mad about the situation. In trying to remember - without letting on that she had forgotten about us- she came up with something very different than what we had talked about. Neither my wife nor I took her irritated manner personally but were a bit flabbergasted when she rolled her eyes at us and disappeared into the back room to complain about us to her manager. And she was loud. And offensive. My wife walked out by this point but I stayed to try to resolve the situation. After a few minutes, Doug (who I believe is the owner and seemed like a nice enough guy) came out and gave me an overpriced quote to apparently run me out of his store. Now I realize that customer service isn't what it used to be but this was a failure on so many levels - and such a different experience than we had been hoping for. I now hear their ads on the radio and can only say this: an ad may bring in a customer but bad service and the word of mouth that results from it can be devastating to a business. Might I be so bold as to suggest a drastic change in attitude - and employees for that matter.

The three stars are for that particular young woman and her redeeming customer service because my sister in law, who I adore, is INCREDIBLY hard to please. As I also have a Pandora bracelet I wanted to purchase a charm if I found one I really liked. Translation - on this particular afternoon we were an easy sale. I would have bought two, if not three charms easily. The gentleman who was helping us - I use the term helping very loosely - was for some reason incredibly hesitant to show us the plain sterling silver charms. After I clearly said the charms he was showing us were just too sparkly, he very reluctantly brought out one tray of non-jeweled charms under which I could see two other trays in the counter. At this point my Mom picked out one glass bead for her birthday and we left as it was apparent we were getting no where fast with Mr. Unhelpful Medawar. In the future I will be taking my Pandora business downtown or to Ann Arbor if I want local customer service, for anything else, I'll shop online.

We had a great experience to start with Steve, an associate there. He was pleasant, knowledgeable, and very funny and kind. He and I both attended WMU and majored in music so we hit it off talking about that and then the 3 of us had similar interests we talked about. He was showing the Rêvelation brand lab created rings. The one I liked best ended up being a 2 CTW 3 stone oval ring for under $1.8k which was a wonderful deal!! I tried on 6 Engagement rings, and 4 or 5 different wedding bands to match them. At this point, my boyfriend was asking multiple questions about pricing, if this location closes in Portage can we still get maintenance or service from the sister-stores, in case we don't buy it from Portage can we possibly work out similar a 30% discount or otherwise, then what is the down payment. He wanted to start the purchase process that day. The owner of the store came up and in said a rude and impatient voice that all of the rings needed to be put back and cleaned now because "we need to get ready to shut down and close". It was about 5:35-5:40PM EST and there were multiple patrons still in the store looking around. Then he told me I had tried on too many rings, I'm just trying on everything without making a decision, and everything needed to be put away. He also held out one of the last rings I had just tried on and said, "do you want this one? Is this the one you actually wanted!?" I didn't reply because I shocked and embarrassed. At this point multiple patrons were looking at us and even Steve, the associate helping us, looked very uncomfortable. I eventually said no, that's not the one I'm thinking of and the manager said, "ok, we're putting them away and you could come back tomorrow!" Steve apologized multiple times and I reassured him that I appreciated his help and took his card. The fact that such an exciting moment was ruined truly hurt my feelings. My boyfriend and I should have been celebrating and having fun; not angry and me sitting in my car outside of the shop after this incident crying. I've left a detailed message with the corporate office as well about this. I recommended the shop to my friends before but they also will not go there. My boyfriend and I had smaller items we were going to purchase that evening and we put them back also so multiple sales were lost. My boyfriend actually tried on more men's wedding rings than I did! I was also gauging his favorite choice as well to grab before the shop closed next month. We were both very courteous and kind the entire time we shopped that day. If this matters- and I believe it might have- I'm black and my boyfriend is white. If this review was only about the great service from Steve, fun we had and the beautiful, high quality pieces both my boyfriend and I tried on them I would have given this review a 5 but I just can't. I cannot recommend the Portage location to anyone anymore.
