A family run business. Very knowledgeable. Determined to get you clock fixed and back to running as good as new. Took him a clock that has been in the family for a long time. Others tried to fix it but weren't able to. Clock issues: Wouldn't strike on the hour correctly. Hammers were not lined up correctly. Some of the internal arms were bent. Over all the clock had multiple issues. He took it apart and completely rebuilt it. I was very patient and trusted that he would get this clock working again. I would highly recommend this place for any clock repair. Just be patient and have faith. He will fix your clock. read more

I cannot tell you how much I was disrespected in the establishment. The clock guy in the back was so rude to me. I brought the same watch back with the same issue within 30 days. He then told me that I would be charged double of what I originally paid to have it fixed. I then asked him why I did not stand by his work and then he told me to send the watch back or go somewhere else. I would advise you to avoid this place! read more

A couple of months ago I took my watch to have the band repaired and sized. They fixed it and it is still perfect. I had tried to do this adjustment myself and really messed up. The kind of connectors used on this exclusive to manufacturer band have small parts holding in larger parts. I removed the larger parts, but failed to see and thus lost most of the smaller ones. I could not see them because they were so small and unexpected. The owner watchmaker and his wife were very helpful. He found he had some spare parts and did not need to order any from the manufacturer. Instead of several days as expected, I got a call the next day saying it was ready. I was delighted and the price was fair and better than if he had to order parts. I know because I checked online for parts prices before coming to the Clock Repair Haus. Some of the parts were not sold separately by the manufacturer. The current cost of a new band would have been 90% of the value of the watch in dollars. However, this watch had been a 25th anniversary gift from my wife, sixteen years earlier. In those years it had become "a part of me." The watchmaker took time to adjust and readjust the band until it fit like a glove again;actually better than it had before I lost all the overweight my doctor had told me to lose; hence my need to adjust it. The watchmaker gave me my removed parts back and I was able to buy some extra very tiny parts from him to keep on hand just in case it ever needed to be expanded a little again. He even took time to show me how to make the changes safely and properly should I ever need to adjust it again in either direction. However, with his prices and service, and my not so great eyesight, most likely I will go back to the Clock Repair Haus rather than risk messing it up with another DIY attempt. The Clock Repair Haus has great and friendly service, is knowledgeable, dependable, honest, and reasonably priced; I highly recommend it. read more

Wife attempted to surprise me for Christmas by taking my favorite watch in to get the crystal repaired. During the repair, the wood face was scratched and scuffed in two large noticeable areas. When attempting to remedy the situation (seeking refund of service or further repair) she was harassed by two of the staff. They reduced to calling her "stupid" for bringing in something fragile and that my wife should have known better to not know that damages would happen. Half reducing my wife to tears for the belligerence and awful treatment from a small mom/pop shop where you'd expect to be treated courteously. The only bright spot for this dark experience was from a young man who said the best he could do was refund half the cost of the repair ($22.50). After receiving the small token she was buried in rude comments by the older gentleman made to make my wife feel guilty for not accepting the damage done when she had paid for a repair. Clock Repair Haus will never have my business again and hopefully you too will hunt for better options. read more

....As a vintage watch dealer ( mechanical watches only) for the past 7 years, I have been using the services of Gerry at CLock Repair Haus for those years ....( in interest of honesty, I stopped being a vintage watch last summer when I switched over to making jewelry from vintage watch parts, for some reason, people had stopped buying vintage watches) ....but in those 7 years I brought countless watches for Gerry to fix and his record was stellar ...and if a watch wasn't worth putting the money into, he would tell me so ....( these were always mechanical vintage watches, of various values) .....Watch repair is a time consuming chore, not only in the time it takes to do the actual work, but Gerry always checks his work by running and timing the watch for at least 2 weeks after it has been worked on, whether it's just been serviced, or has actual parts replaced.) ..and as I have taken a lot of watches apart, ( ones that were already caseless, due to having it's case sold for scrap gold) and I'll tell you this ....some of those tiny but decades old screws do NOT want to come out ...when I do it, you can tell someone who has little experience or strength is taking it out ..scratches all over the movement ....but Gerry takes a watch apart, and puts it back together and it still look exactly the way it did when it came in ....( he can't erase scratch marks made by a bad repairperson) ....Gerry is certified, which means he went to school 40 hours a weeks, for 2 years, and the graduation requirement is making a watch from scratch ! ..... .....Now, Gerry is a character, now a good friend ....he is passionate about watches, especially the vintage mechanical ones ....and if you treat him with respect, which he fully deserves, you will find him to be a person is fun to work with over any of your watch treasures ... ..... when it comes to working on your watch, he takes great pride in doing a top notch job Keep in mind that even if you just come in for a battery change, you are being helped by a person who is more qualified than any car mechanic, and he's working with impossibly small parts ....( I'm convinced that some of the ones on the tiny vintage ladies watches are actually invisible) .....you can trust him to put a battery in your Timex .....or Movado, he'll usually do that as you wait.... Or you can hand him your grandfathers solid gold Howard's Railroad Grade pocket watch and know that you will get it back running happily and accurately until it needs it's next service....( that's one of the ways to find out your watch needs servicing ...it starts to run fast, or slow ...that means the oil is getting old and sticky ....time to clean that out ( which means taking the whole thing all the way apart down to the last screw, inspecting each part, dunking it through 4 cleaning solutions, inspecting the parts again, then reassembling it, oiling with 4 different grades of oil as you go, in something like at least 19 places, and then timing it for at least 2 weeks .....and the timing is checked with an electronic meter ...whew ! ....Gerry is one of the few "real watchmakers" left in the country, less than 1,500 in the entire country, and many of those retiring every day I cannot say enough good things about him ....I highly recommend anyone bring their watches in and know they're dealing with a true expert .... ....and oh .....he does like to talk... I'm new to the area from sw suburb of Chicago,..been here about a month. Needed to find a place to get a clock repaired and glass replaced on a wall clock. Found this wonderful little gem. The owner and his mom couldn't have been more knowledgeable on my pieces and gave me options on what to do. There was no pressure on the higher price options and they were honest and kind. I will continue to go here and refer my friends and family to this business. And also, when you walk in, their selection of antique and older watches and clocks is amazing.
