I adore the store layout and just about every stitch of clothing inside -- although I did experience a bit of sticker shock when I glanced at price tags. My eye gravitated to a luxuriously soft light sweater-cape in a pale pink with bright pink polka dots that I was hoping might be on sale since it's a bit too warm for the current season. No such luck ... it was almost $300. Sigh ... I moved on. Found the cutest little fuchsia and orange sundress. D'oh ... nearly $300 again. I have a hard time parting with that much money for clothing that only gets a few months use since it's only hot in Michigan for a few months of the year. If I lived in Florida, it would absolutely be worth the splurge. There are quite a few more budget-friendly items at Tulips, including one new clothing line that's closer to the $50 mark, but this season's line from them wasn't in the vibrant colors that made the rest of Tulip's apparel appeal so much. They also have some wonderful travel-friendly, wrinkle free clothes that I'll be sure to check out next time I'm planning to go on vacation. Jewelry, too, is very affordable and bright and pizzazy ... I posted a bunch of pictures on yelp. This would be a great spot to stop for gifts as well as they had gorgeous beach blankets in vibrant patterns (flamingos, anchors, peacock feathers and other themes), Derby hats and other fun tchotchkes. Tulips is a now a must-stop spot for me when I'm in the Oakwood Plaza neck of the woods. What a great little area to shop local! I highly recommend wandering the whole area and popping in to all the great local spots.

I walked into American Freight expecting the same results as I had been getting everywhere else. I was pleasantly surprised when I was greeted with a smile by a man named Mike. He walked me through all the available options and took.his time to get me exactly what I wanted. After i had selected the products I wanted he informed me he is the store manager and would live to help with any further transactions. I will be coming back for all my future purchases because of the customer service and care that Mike provided.

This place seems like a hybrid of both. Prices seem to be right around the Goodwill range or even less (and like Goodwill, they were offering 50% off of certain colored tags). I hope you've got Macklemore playing in your head because I know I do. I got the velcros ... Anyway, decent variety of older games and toys, lots of kids clothing in a wide range of sizes, even some maternity bras and clothing for mothers, and a huge rack for shoes in the back. As is off in the case, there were three times as many girls shoes as boys. The spot is definitely way off the beaten path -- tucked in the very back corner of a strip mall at the corner of Gulll and Sprinkle roads (if you've found Main Street Pub you've got the right building -- it's around the back).

As we big men know, bigger clothes means a bigger bill at the end of your outing. However, the material is of a great quality and will last for a long time. I've been to some of the big-name clothing stores in Chicago and New York but their biggest size of anything fits a man half my size. So, when my friends are trying on clothes, I get to just sit and watch as people try on good-looking clothes. At B. J. Benjims I can get the looks I want at a decent price; I get to leave with an entire outfit. Great selection. Heck! Even my dad wishes he were bigger so he could shop there. The prices are really reasonable compared to other third stores in the area. The store is well organized and clean. I found several nice vintage pieces of glass during my visit and some notecards. The staff is comprised of volunteers that are welcoming, super friendly and helpful. The clerk carefully wrapped my purchases so that they wouldn't break. They accept donations, too. Eventually we went to the counter and there was a young woman, maybe a teenager, ducked on the counter on her phone and eating hard boiled eggs, she told us to wait, so she got off her phone and called someone else from the back to come do the register. It seems that this place has always had trouble keeping their volunteers. They do have some good items and very good prices.
