There's a high turnover of vendors who think they're going to make a killing on the little crafts and garage sale items they sell there. Let me save you the disappointment. You won't even break even. Most likely you'll lose money and move out quickly so the next unsuspecting victim can move in. The owner keeps store hours very limited because she pays the hourly help out of her pocket and it save her lots of money to have limited hours. All the while rent is due each month from vendors. Twice, I had to put my clothes on to go out and look for a different size. When I went to pay for what I wanted, I mentioned to the clerk that it would be helpful if someone would come into the dressing rooms occasionally to ask if anyone needed help or perhaps a different size. I received no response from her at all--not one word! I found that very rude.

I didn't have my wife's debit card. I was told it was their "store policy" to have the card present or they can issue a merchandise return card. I told her since it was a debit card to just give me cash- "not possible" This is a scam to avoid return $ I was told they need the card because "sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't" I word worry about the website security of a company with that many stores has IT so antiquated they cannot make a return with a receipt to the original form of payment.

I adore the store layout and just about every stitch of clothing inside -- although I did experience a bit of sticker shock when I glanced at price tags. My eye gravitated to a luxuriously soft light sweater-cape in a pale pink with bright pink polka dots that I was hoping might be on sale since it's a bit too warm for the current season. No such luck ... it was almost $300. Sigh ... I moved on. Found the cutest little fuchsia and orange sundress. D'oh ... nearly $300 again. I have a hard time parting with that much money for clothing that only gets a few months use since it's only hot in Michigan for a few months of the year. If I lived in Florida, it would absolutely be worth the splurge. There are quite a few more budget-friendly items at Tulips, including one new clothing line that's closer to the $50 mark, but this season's line from them wasn't in the vibrant colors that made the rest of Tulip's apparel appeal so much. They also have some wonderful travel-friendly, wrinkle free clothes that I'll be sure to check out next time I'm planning to go on vacation. Jewelry, too, is very affordable and bright and pizzazy ... I posted a bunch of pictures on yelp. This would be a great spot to stop for gifts as well as they had gorgeous beach blankets in vibrant patterns (flamingos, anchors, peacock feathers and other themes), Derby hats and other fun tchotchkes. Tulips is a now a must-stop spot for me when I'm in the Oakwood Plaza neck of the woods. What a great little area to shop local! They turn down your items that are basically brand new and clean. They say the same thing every time that it's stained or lightly worn. I'm not sure if they have taken a look at their shelves and what they have available for people to purchase but all of the clothing that I brought into their establishment was brand new no stains and lightning worn. Definitely a waste of time.

I always stock up on affordable clothing for my son each season and consign his older items to pay for what I get, It works out great! With the current labor shortage however, the wait times are very high to consign items and they are very busy. They only accept 1 bin per person, must have a lid and clothes have to be freshly laundered. They only accept items between 10-2 on weekdays, expect a 2-3 hour wait on turn around time.
