Instead of just having a "man chair" for husbands and boyfriends waiting while their partners try on clothing, R & P has a full oasis out back with a beautiful garden and a lovely little pond. It's a nice compromise since I spend a ton of time checking out every little nook and cranny of both floors of these partnered stores. They've remodeled a bit so be sure to check out the changes upstairs (they had an awesome selection of clearance clothing up there for 50% off on my most recent visit). Sure wish that pink Ryu jacket with the petals on the lapel had been my size! Such a great place for gifts of all kinds from books to jewelry, cards and stationery to pampering bath items. This place is off the main drag of Phoenix St, but nonetheless worth the walk of a few blocks…read more Phoenix St is filled with useless, touristy merchandise, but you won't find that at Shooting Star. They've got cool stuff. Much of it is local artists, and you'll find a different air in the store. It's laid back, and you won't see a blueberry in sight. I got a very unique necklace and some great cards, which you won't find in the store after store on Phoenix with essentially the same merchandise. They also have reconditioned/restored furniture which is really cool.

Someone had mentioned the stones in the driveways. They ARE difficult to walk on within the market area. The only other issue was the number of vehicles driving through the market area when open. There isn't enough room for cars AND walkers. Not interested in a further visit. I'd sure would have liked to see the variety and really wanted some wood planters. Oh well. FAR from the best.

There is produce, bulk candies, confections, a boot store, a shoe store, so many clothing and jewelry options in addition to vintage and handmade items. There are a lot of seasonal vendors there as well as new comers regularly. Some massive shops and some with a table and canopy. The atmosphere is always friendly people, both sellers and shoppers. Everyone was very welcoming and accommodating. We just finished our second weekend of selling, going back for the 3 day weekend for 4th of July and while I'm exhausted I am excited. Camping is on your site for the most part/ in your vehicle and there are air conditioned restrooms open 24h. Being able to come on Friday without extra charge is valuable if you are not seasonal, giving extra time to be organized without pressing yourself so much in the morning. Cathy's Kitchen has great coffee and breakfast, I've not had their lunch and they are not open for dinner. Everyone in there is so friendly. Free parking and admission make this a great value and must stop for shoppers and no one should be disappointed in doing so. Many people bring their dogs, of all sizes and breeds, some in strollers. They also have puppies for sale/ to adopt, though I'm not the biggest fan of that especially in the heat. There's a country market across the street (not affiliated) with a nice variety of offerings to accommodate your stay as well. Put Reits on your list if you haven't been yet, just bring your sunbrella, sunscreen and water for you and your pet if you bring them. Hope to see you there!
