You can tell so much thought goes into the store. The vintage jewelry is out of this world!!! It is one of the most beautiful collections of jewelry I have ever come across. The owner and all employees I've met are down to earth , I truly feel right at home. No public restroom and directs you to one closed for the season. On the New Year's Lakeshore Trail and it would have been kind to have had a restroom to use. The restaurant across the street welcomed us to use theirs. read more

Stopped at this mall today looking for vintage Christmas decorations. I'm always breaking ornaments. Great mall. 2 floors of everything vintage to recent. Let's be serious what a 20 year old thinks is vintage is totally different than what I think is vintage. Would highly recommend a visit. read more

Such fun and exciting pickins in this large antique mall, located in the old Murphy's Five & Dime. While I don't get there often, I rarely leave without dropping a couple hundred on irresistible treasures. There an eclectic mix, with some antiques/vintage with some repro thrown in for good measure --this past visit I came away with some beautiful vintage tablecloths, glassware, Christmas decor and a framed print that I just love. Always stop on when I'm anywhere near South Haven. There's another store across the street, so this is definitely a destination for discerning antique lovers ! read more

A friend and I drove up to South Haven yesterday to visit Murphy's Antique Mall. I have not been there in years but it's still a great place to browse and shop. The booths were full of a nice variety of treasures and it was clean and easy to walk around. We thought the prices were reasonable and the mall is just the right size so that you don't have to spend all day to see everything. read more

Prices are high. A couple of things I looked at could have been purchased new close to the price they were asking. Also, I asked to use the bathroom. The check out woman told me it was "just behing their building" like it was just out their back door. I had to traverse down the side of the building on an unshoveled snow-covered passageway & then the bathroom was approximately a block and a half away! And the bathroom was not easy to find. The worst part was the lady could have cared less!! I had a couple of items at the counter I was going to buy, so I was not a random person off the street asking to use the bathroom. I understand this policy during the summer. But when it is 20 degrees, with blowing cold wind, this is unreasonable and uncaring. The lady told me, "the city does not care, and to call them myself if I had a complaint about the snow covered walkway". Her description of how far the bathroom was (way off) and her uncaring attitude was the worst. So if you are elderly, have little kids, disabled, etc., and need to use the bathroom after shopping for awhile, you better have a back up plan. I will never go back there again. read more

Not friendly, very bad customer service. Once, I reminded the cashier that the booth I was buying from had a 20% off on everything, just in case she didn't write it up that way (thinking if she didn't it would save time if she needed to correct it). She very curtly said, "I KNOW what's on sale! I made the mistake of shopping there again. I bought two lamps that had light bulbs in them when I bought them, but when I got home to use them, the light bulbs were removed. I called to see if it was an error...."oh no, we always keep the light bulbs". I think that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! I have written them off of places to shop in South Haven. Would NOT recommend. read more

What did you say? A BURGER CHEF orange booth? That's right, that's only one piece of goodness in this little gem of an antique mall. There are probably about 100 booths upstairs and downstairs with so many different things. I was there a few hours and I still missed stuff. Despite the age of the building, it didn't smell musty or gross and it was clear many of the people kept their booths up. Prices were all over the board, from the sublime to the ridiculous. It's the only open antique place in town now, since the one on the main drag shut down. But so worth it. Just wander on down if you are waiting in line at Clementine's for some perch. You won't be sorry. read more

No customer service. Crabby women at counter. Not a lot of antiques, just kind of garage sale-ish. They have a sign at the counter announcing customers are not allowed to use their restroom. They told me I could walk 4 blocks to a public bathroom near the ice rink on a 16-degree winter day with an ungodly COLD windchill. So, pregnant women, people with small children who wait until the last minute to say they have to go, elderly people and people with disabilities are just out of luck--They refuse to let you use the restroom and tell you to get walkin. read more

Great place.. The Mother and Daughter who run the place are great people. Great with kids and really care about their customers experience. The other staff are horrible to kids. Don't bring your kids if anyone other than the two owners are there. The other staff follow you around the store and nag you about your kids. The other staff has to remember that South Haven is a family friendly place. Family friendly and " we don't want your kids in here" does not go together in the same sentence. Either way, drop in for a great experience. Leave your kids in the car. Just kidding ! read more

I have shopped at Murphy's for over 5 years and have always found creative and unique items for my house or even to wear. I have brought my daughter, who is 10 and she too finds items that will work for her age. If you ask the staff where they may have something, they know the inventory and where to find items in the store. There is usually a sale going on in particular booths. I always stop at Murphy's while I'm in SH and at least look to get ideas for my house or items to wear. read more

Horrible customer service. Stood 5 minutes at counter ...while two ladies stood behind the counter talking. Finally I interrupted, and asked to be waited on....then they asked each other if the other would wait on me. Very dismissive.:( Would be very upset if I had a booth there. read more

Murphys Antique Mall is a South Haven gem! My family loves stopping in when ever we visit. It's fun to browse and see what each booth has to offer. There is something for everyone- great vintage jewelry, neat cottage decor, cool glassware, and sports memorbelia. This mall is nice because its local to South Haven. I am a bit overwhelmed by the volume in the mall. If you are looking for a GREAT mall, you must visit Sweet Pickins less than 10 minutes away from downtown South Haven on M43 in West Bangor, MI. It's extremely clean and the lay out is outstanding. It's worth the trip. You will not be disappointed, I promise you. read more

To L.P.: I was also in Murphy's Antique Mall when this happened, however, I saw a totally different 'event'. This child had climbed on to some metal display shelves/baskets that were meant for a retail store. If the baskets had toppled over the child would have been hurt. The parent should have intervened before the store clerk had to step in. Parents do not watch their children the way they use to. I've been in Murphy's many times and the staff goes out of their way to be friendly and pleasant. Yes, children should be with their parent while in this store. There are many breakable things. Don't blame someone for doing your job. I guess honesty has gone by the wayside too! read more

NOT KID FRIENDLY!!! My two year old touched a harmless metal basket that was placed on the street in front of the store and one of the store clerks yelled so loud at my child that scared him tremendously. The clerk did not realize I was next to him, anyway, I gave them the benefit of doubt and decided to check the store. My wife was standing right behind me and heard the two clerks saying how they "don't understand why people take kids in stores"... I was holding my two year old in my arms the whole time inside the store. One of the clerks followed me throughout the store and as as I was paying she had such a terrible behavior that I left all my items at the counter and left. Horrible experience and total lack of customer service. Rude attendants. Instead, I walked to another store called Al-Van Humane Society Resale Shop and had a wonderful experience. If you have children, Murphy's mall is not for you. I highly recommend going to Al-Van Humane Society Resale Shop instead. read more
