This is the most expensive and their service is crap. They keep rescheduling the service again and again just by sending an email that "we won't be able to pickup today " Their customer service is also horrible. Called and waited for half an hour and finally a guy named Tony answered. After talking to him about the issue and telling him how this has been a horrible experience. This guy just hung up on me without answering my questions. I would not recommend this service to anyone and will be canceling it asap. What a waste of time these people are. read more

Price went up every bill. No way to call them. Sloppy trash men leave my cans in the road. Do r use them they are terrible

Horrible service sometimes not even picking up your trash then to add insult to injury they credit you like 3 bucks! Happened multiple times. I canceled service and took my business elsewhere read more

I have never in all my 40 years on this earth dealt with a company as incompetent and unethical as waste management. We pay for a service monthly which is never completed unless I spend hours on hold weekly after a missed pickup to send the truck back to our house the following Monday to pickup the trash that should have been collected on Friday. I have an entire file full of complaints and questions as to why it gets missed and we are told a variety of answers. They have said that our trash can was too close to another vehicle (something we can't control as our neighbors park along the curb on the street), that our trash isn't out (not possible since our cans reside curbside at all times), and that we have too much trash (the reason is because it never gets picked up!). I have had customer service consistently lie to me for months now, always promising to call me back and never doing so. At first I just wanted to know what the problem was, now I feel like I'll never get my money back for months of a service that was never completed. They say they watch the cameras and that our cans are not out, when I look at the camera footage our house is never even in the shot, instead they are viewing a completely different street. These guys are absolute crooks. I have never written a bad review in my life and now I feel a duty to warn ever other person out there to stay away from this company. I have given them more grace to correct the problem than most people ever would. Their service and ethics are exactly what they deal in and that is TRASH! Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else! read more

We had Waste Management for years. The trash pick up was dependable. The problem was that every quarter the price went up. When it finally reached $286 a quarter for one time a week service, we had had enough. That meant we were paying over $1000 a year for residential service. Tried asking if they would reduce price as we saw other people in the area with lower costs. They were not willing. Changed to Waste Connections. Not as dependable but can live with it for the $60 a quarter cost. read more

Terrible customer service. Trash pickup is routinely delayed. I called today after the second week in a row that they didn't come to our house. After getting transferred multiple times, I was unable to get an answer as to why I should pay for a service that they aren't providing. I asked to cancel only to be told that I am paid through November and they don't offer prorated refunds. It seems like this is how they want to reward loyal customers. I'd rather pay to be done with them and choose one of their cheaper competitors. read more

The worst! They charge really high rates, only pick up recycling biweekly, and then charge $75 for can pick ups when you end your service. The customer service is also made intentionally difficult and is sub-par at best. read more

I find it ridiculous that they missed my recycles day and, a week later after contacting them several times, they still haven't picked them up. This is the service AFTER a price hike. read more

I had tried two trash companies, oops waste removal co., prior to this one. Republic appeared cheaper but once you consider the cost of purchasing the trash cans, I don't think so. Republic has some insane rules. Once someone stuck a cigarette pack under the lid causing it to remain open by one inch? They would not pick it up! Plus only the cans, no bags or boxes will be picked up. What made me cancel was they left the cans half full of trash. These guys are the prima donnas of the waste removal world. So, I discontinued service yet they continued to billed me for month afterwards. I moved on to Tech Trash, great name uh? It's a shame that can't be said for their service. They just didn't pick up the trash. I was constantly on the phone with them to no avail. The same can be said about my refund. That takes us to Waste Management. They delivered cans within the week. I have been with them for eight months and never a problem! Since I have had no problem I can't comment on the customer service. But I so far can't say enough good things about them! read more

Recycling service was offered only every other week. At some point during my time getting services, once a month free bulk pick up was discontinued. However, at no point did my pricing get discounted. Only at the time of cancellation, was offered a discounted price. Also at the time of cancellation, I was informed that I would not be refunded my final installment. So waste management gets to hold onto my hard earned money without providing any goods or services to me. I don't see how this practice is in good faith and I will make sure to share with all that will listen that Waste Management puts themselves before the customer. read more

A cheap option but you get what you pay for. So, if you don't mind having to call your trash company every week to remind them to pick up your trash or having to leave your can out several days until it gets picked up, this may be the company for you! We had been customers for over 3 years and things weren't bad until the last 4 months or so. They will apologize and make excuses but that's not what I'm paying for. As the HOA representative of my community, I will be recommending everyone in our development leave this company immediately. read more

Very poor customer service. Do not consider this company when choosing a trash pick-up service. They will never answer your question or attempt to resolve problems created by them. They are a really patheticly run operation. read more

Absolutely no problem with pick up or service. They were always there when they said they would be there. They even went and got my cans when I would forget to bring them down the driveway!! There were 2 problems I had with WM. The first is their fees. They charge you a set up fee of $37 (ish). Other waste removal companies do not have set up fees. I also paid approximately $123 quarterly for residential service. After shopping around, I found a company that charged half of this. When I called to cancel my service they informed me that they do price match in my area....The second issue I have with WM is the ridiculously long wait times when you call them. No lie, expect to be on hold for at least 20 minutes!! I called on a Monday and the lady told me if I didn't want to wait, that I should call back on Friday....Took me a half an hour to cancel my service by phone. read more

In June I switched from Waste Management to Republic Waste Service because Republic saved me over $80 a year. I called Waste Management to tell them I was no longer using them effective the end of June. It took 3 weeks and a few phone calls to get them to pick up their containers. They charged $82 to my credit card for service July thru Sept. I have called them 4 or 5 times about refunding my $82. They kept saying that it takes 8 to 10 weeks to get a refund. I can't understand how it can take so long but I waited. 2 phone calls ago I was told I'd have the money within 2 weeks. 2 weeks later I called and they said the check was in the mail. That was 5 days ago. It doesn't take 5 days for a check to arrive no matter where in the US it was mailed from. Do not use Waste Management. read more

Welcome to the Hotel California. You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave. Read the contract carefully before you sign. WM had us in a 3 year, auto renewing contract for our 4-yd dumpster. I'm not sure how this benefits the customer, since WM can (and will) raise the rate any time they like. If you decide to shop around for more favorable pricing you'll find that you need to provide 90 day notice of your intent to end the contract. You will also need to provide them the opportunity to match any other offer. We went this route once and found our rates back to where the were not long after we renewed the contact. This time we wanted out. We had to pay a liquidation damage penalty (the equivalent of three months' worth of service fees) in the form of a certified check along with written notice, as well as $150 for them to pick up the dumpster. We'll start saving money in three months. WM removed the dumpster not long after they received the certified check; three weeks before their service agreement ended. WM has promised a refund, but based on other reviews, I'm not counting on it. read more

Do not use this company! I signed up for trash and recycle services in late January of this year. Our agreement was that trash would be picked up every week and recycle would be picked up biweekly. I believe that they've come to get my recycling as scheduled one time. Every single other time, my recycle simply would not get picked up. When I would call to follow up, I would be told that they would come on the next service day. Several times, they would not show up the next service day either. I was finally forced to call and cancel my services. I was told that my services were cancelled and that I would not receive another bill in the mail. Another bill just showed up in my mail box. Now I need to waste even more time calling them yet again to ask them to negate the invoice. I literally cannot wait to resolve this so that I never need to interact with these people again. Do yourself a favor, save yourself a headache, do not even consider using this company. read more

Drivers that pick-up trash here are rude, but not as rude as the people who answer the phone if you have a question about the service. I would use anyone but these guys if I were you. read more

We paid for the twice a week pick up and the company has not shown up yet for the second day per week. We call and they insist that the drive is picking up on the second day. This has been going on for about four months now. I am going to order a dumpster for the backed up moving boxes, etc that we have built up over the last four months. Then I will file a claim in Chester County small claims court to recover the money from them. read more

Terrible. We had been customers 20 years. Always had twice a week trash pick up. It was a bit more expensive but we felt we were paying for the extra pickup. We received a letter saying they would be stopping twice a week pick up at the end of the month. We switched to Evergreen who has weekly recycling pickup (which is great compared to very other week that we had) and they are HALF the cost. Half! But here is where client service really goes down for WM-they didn't pick up their old can because it said Home Waste (which was bought and now owned by WM). I called and they said I could pay $15 to have it picked up. Fine. But when the day came when hey we're supposed to get it, they called and said they wouldn't do the pick up since we had canceled our service. Crazy! Horrible service. Glad to be done with them. read more

Not the smartest option. They cost way too much! They miss pick ups here, and I will not ever be using them again. Very frustrated with their billing system and lack of customer service. read more
