It's really old school, but sparking clean and comfortable. We got a parking spot right outside from (free until 10:00 am.) Got a booth immediately, no wait. Service was super effluent. Food was hot, plentiful and delicious. I had an exceedingly breakfast burrito with home fries. The mister got two eggs over easy with bacon, French fries and rye toast. Coffee was excellent (and I am really critical about coffee!) Prices were reasonable, especially for the Village.

Canzy island taste is by far the best Haitian food I've ever had!…read more The restaurant is within a little shopping mall out in Long Island. From the outside it looks small but the inside was big enough to seat 15-20 people. The server was very helpful with explaining what ever this was and gave me some good suggestions. I ended up having the legumes, black rice and Mac and cheese. The legumes is a veggie stew with meat. The flavor is so rich, deep and delicious. I've never had a veggie stew that made me want to go back for more. The black rice was so good you could eat it by itself. The Mac and cheese was also good. The portion of the dishes were so big for the price. Big enough that I shared it with someone and was able to eat from it 4 times total. Being from BK, I thought we had the best Caribbean food but now I can see that's not true because this restaurant was too good! I will definitely go back for more!

This is a Haitian deli that is in a retail strip with free parking…read more Lalo is their signature dish, and it is only sold on weekends. It is made from jute leaves, fresh crab and beef. Do not confuse this dish with Jamaican Callaloo, which is made from taro (dasheen) leaves and is often combined with salt fish. The owners make their own passionfruit and ginger juice. The ginger juice is potent. It is stronger than any ginger beer that I have ever tasted. I have to dilute it with some water. I am only giving this deli three stars because it is a new business that must iron out some kinks. For one, sometimes all the daily specials are not put out by noon. Number two, the interior design needs updating.

The place was very clean, and the service was warm and friendly. You can truly taste the love and care that goes into the food. Absolutely amazing experience, and we highly recommend it! I also got the jerk chicken which spice levels always teeter towards almost too much to handle but the flavor is great. I do prefer thighs to drumsticks though. Their cabbage and collard greens taste very fresh and the collard greens actually tastes like the vegetable instead of meat. The plantains were a great complement. I ordered their new apple cider drink with the apple cider donut, but unfortunately, they didn't seem to know which drink I was referring to. For food, I ordered the chicken cutlet taco with buffalo mac and cheese. The chicken cutlet was pretty bland, but the buffalo mac and cheese was good! We also had the bangin breakfast burrito (I think that was the name) it was pretty good but my partner hated the cheese lol. Overall, I'd still go back and try some of their other dishes. Their menu is HUGE and there are so many options to choose from, so I definitely feel like there's more I'd want to try!
