Everyone in my neighborhood is furious. Our city just made the switch to Groot garbage and…read morerecycling management starting May 1st from Waste Management. Our last waste management pickup was last Tuesday morning. They collected our reusable cans at that time and were supposed to leave new ones from Groot the same day. It is now Saturday morning and all my neighbors and my family are without waste and recycling bins to put our full bags and collection of recycling items in. We have a lot of wildlife in our neighborhood that will rip apart our bags if we just leave them in the garage or outside (which is what whoever was answering phones there on Thursday suggested). There's no local dumpster to drop bags off besides city hall which is about 2 miles away from our neighborhood. As of April 30th, 2022, I'm extremely disappointed with this company and my mind is boggled by the fact that they've earned awards for excellent service. They're not even open on Saturday or Sunday. When my partner tried calling on Thursday to ask when we could expect our collection bins, they said anywhere from Thursday to Saturday. It is Saturday, they're not open, and we still don't have them. Might be worth looking into a private garbage company if you're in a city or town that uses Groot.

thank you to Janni V for their review of DART container recycling…read more I just found out I can't throw my to-go boxes into my recycling and have to bring it to Dart. was given a link to read about it, but there was no real info....where, hours, how/what to do. There was an address that I had to mapquest/google to see where, futher than I thought it was. Hours? I guess it's 24/7, bins? what to do? can I bag up all my styrofoam/to go boxes and toss the bag in? do I have to throw each item separately, If you want us to recycle effectively, provide us details of what to do, otherwise I will just throw it in my regular garbage. :(

You probably know Dart Container Corporation, even if you don't think you do. If you've eaten…read moreanything that was ever packed in styrofoam (such as any carry-out food or leftovers you've taken home from a restaurant), or had many cold or hot beverages from a restaurant, you've probably used a Dart container. What not everyone knows is that Dart doesn't just manufacture all sorts of #6 styrofoam containers. Dart also offers a 24/7 public dropoff recycling facility outside its headquarters in North Aurora. While most communities in the area now offer recycling services along with regular garbage pickup, most communities don't have the capacity to recycle #6 styrofoam (and some plastic). Not sure if what you have in your hand is #6? Check the bottom of the container. You should see a triangle made of 3 arrows that are going around it. In the middle, there will be a number. Plastics (and styrofoam) are labeled 1 through 6, to designate what type of plastic/styrofoam it is. For more information on the codes and their meanings, check out this slideshow: http://www.thedailygreen.com/green-homes/latest/recycling-symbols-plastics-460321#slide-1 At any rate, while I do wish that my local township offered recycling of #6 items, I'm glad Dart is stepping up and taking responsibility to recycle this stuff. More people need to know this is here, which is why I've added this business to Yelp. It's pretty simple. You drive up to the 24/7 bins and toss styrofoam from electronics in one side, and styrofoam from foodservice applications in the other. Just follow the signs and you'll be fine. No muss, no fuss. In our house, we store up our styrofoam in a big bin and take a trip over to Dart when it gets full. Bonus: then we find somewhere cool to check out for lunch, since Dart is about 45 minutes away. Nice! :)

Have to give a quick update as some things have changed in 7 years…read more - This place is now 24/7 - Washers literally just went up! Last week they were at the prices listed below, now they are about $.30 higher. $$$ - Dryers are at $0.55 for 15 minutes What's the same? - Feels safe, well lit, security cameras, bathrooms require a laundry card - vending machines are slightly overpriced, but there's a Dollar Tree within walking distance Though it's more expensive, it's convenient and there's always space.

It completely defeated the purpose of doing my laundry, and now I have to wash everything again somewhere else. When I spoke with an employee, I was told they would give me a credit. However, when I called and spoke with the manager, she refused to honor that, was extremely rude, and even hung up on me while I was trying to explain the situation. The lack of customer service was honestly worse than the issue with the machines. I understand that equipment can sometimes have problems, but treating paying customers with disrespect is unacceptable. I wasted my time, wasted my money, and was left with clothes that smelled worse than when I brought them in. I definitely will not be returning, and I can't recommend this laundromat based on my experience.
