First of…read moreall, Richard returned my call within half an hour which, as anyone who has ever dealt with contractors can attest to, is almost unheard of. He also showed up exactly when he said he was going to, gave us a very fair price for a roof repair, and then came back to do the job exactly when he said he was going to. Richard and his team did a super job, cleaned up after themselves, and were very pleasant and professional. I've since had Richard install tile and laminate flooring, change moldings, and paint rooms. All the jobs were beautifully done. Again, Richard gave me fair prices, showed up every day at the scheduled time, and made sure that everything was tidy before he and his crew left each day. When he finished the floors, he actually cleaned all my interior windows because he didn't want to leave any tile dust! I've referred him to friends, and I know that they are also very happy with his work. I'll definitely call Richard whenever I'm thinking of any home repair or improvement.

I feel incredibly lucky to have found Steven and Sacred Oak Homes. Steven is more than a builder -…read morehe is an artist and offers creative suggestions that enhance the client's vision of the project while remaining solidly within the confines of what is possible. His entire crew - everyone I had contact with, were exemplary - personable, friendly, pleasant to deal with, repsectful of our property. They always left things neat, clean and maximally livable at the end of each day, and their work was professional and meticulous. Steven was always quickly responsive whenever I contacted him with any question or problem. Dealings with money were completely transparent, with a detailed statement listing costs of materials, labor, and Steven's (quite reasonable) mark-up; for the quality of work, I felt it was all very fairly priced. An emergency arose in our basement the day of my very first consultation with Steven, and he sent his crew over the next day to take care of it, even before we had agreed on a contract for services. We had our work done during the pandemic, and though there were some inevitable delays in getting materials, we never felt our project was "put on hold" in favor of a larger or newer one. I have already confidently recommended Sacred Oak to friends and relatives looking to have work done in their homes. Richard Z.

We started communicating in the winter and got on the list for the spring. Ryan reached out as soon as the weather was suitable to pour. He and his team worked hard over the course of a few days to remove the thick layer of old asphalt and prepare/frame the new driveway. The day the concrete was scheduled to arrive, the weather changed suddenly and was no longer suitable. Ryan postponed the delivery to the next day. I was glad he did because I wouldn't have known any better. I'd highly recommend RJM. We are pleased with the final product and are glad to never have to worry about an asphalt driveway ever again. The business is out in Valatie, but we live in Albany.

He requested 20% downpayment via 'cash app' or Venmo, which we provided to secure his commitment. He then blew the first two beautiful days, neither showing nor communicating to reset expectations. Eventually texted, "don't worry, I'll get it done." The third day he burns the entire morning buying supplies, and demands additional 25% Venmo to purchase. Arrives after noon, and leaves at 4pm, demanding half the job's payment in cash. After I provide payment, he says he'll be onsite at 8am. The forth day, Nick and his 'crew,' which consist of his female partner and brother don't show up until after 11am. They are a complete wreck, spilling a 5gal bucket of paint water in my house, through a whirlwind of disorganized chaos. The partner throws a tantrum, drives off the property to go home, only to return minutes later and proceed to sleep in the vehicle for the next two hours. At the end of another partial day of poor quality painting, not one single side of the house is done. The job is not even 25% finished, and I've paid this guy over $6k via Venmo. There's one last gorgeous day before winter is coming on the sixth day. Nick assures me he's fast, will get it done, and will be back at 8am. On the fifth day, Nick doesn't show, doesn't answer texts or calls. I'm left responsible for all the mess he's left, and equipment laying all over my lawn and throughout my basement. It took two truck runs for me to return his property, escorted by Cairo PD. Nick never answered the door, pulled his equipment inside while nobody was around, and has still yet to reply to any messages. There are police reports, I have witnesses willing to testify, and records of all the above. My advice is to not engage with this wrecking ball of a 'business.'
