I will admit this is an AWESOME time and tons of fun for the kids, but we had a major disappointment that left us unhappy. This was our 2nd time here and the 1st time we did the medium level quest which was fun and we completed within the hour. Yesterday wasnt so successful. We had a party of 7 and we chose the hardest course. It was challenging, fun, and the kids loved it, EXCEPT, it was NOT enough time at all. 60 minutes was NOT enough time for this quest. When the quest reached its time limit, we had a prompt to purchase more time, which the kids were so excited about, then i came to find out that is NOT an option, its still in development i was told from workers. The kids were so upset and disappointed in not getting enough time to finish this. We spent almost $200.00 for 7 people to not complete it or have the option for more time was horrible. We wont be back until there is an option to pay for more time if needed, it was a waste of $200 to not have enough time to complete this. read more

This was so much fun!! I would love to do it again now that we know how to do it better. I had my 6 yr old granddaughter with me and we had so much fun. Was glad someone said to google the answers to the riddles because we needed the help lol. People there were so nice and kind thank you and will do again read more

We loved it! It's well done, a ton of fun and for both kids and adults. Will come again for sure! Pleasant surprise!

This was a pretty fun experience, hidden rooms and LOTS of quests. Not sure why the charge for 2 people when they are doing the quests together though. The front desk worker seemed less than enthused to be there. When we returned the tablet at the end of our time we were ignored. We didn't want to just leave the tablet sitting without someone taking it after being warned of the additional charge if they don't receive it back, seems like there should be some accountability for the tablets. I will give a couple warnings for your activity's, if you find yourself at the "rainbow slide" be prepared, it's a fast slide, which caused at least one person to hit the wall at the end causing a hole. Second warning, WATCH YOUR HEAD! There a lot of low and cramped areas throughout the building. I was unfortunate enough to stand up where I shouldn't have and ended up cutting the top of my head and ended up with a headache. Overall this is a fun experience for adults and kids alike! read more

When I was first told that this was like a scavenger hunt, I didn't really get excited for it. However after our quest, my group and I had a blast! We opted for the hardest level (free 4 wizards in 60 minutes) and there were so many tasks to complete. Before we began the game, we developed a strategy and scouted the place to get familiar with the setting. I would recommend wearing long pants and comfortable shoes because there's a lot of walking/running, climbing, and crawling. We went an hour before closing, so there wasn't many people there. If you have an hour to spare, I highly recommend this place! Fun fact: we freed all 4 wizards with 2 minutes to spare! read more

Very family friendly activity, worth it 100%. Worth doing it more than once. Will always come back. Very fun activity's and different areas for different interests. 10/10 read more

I highly recommend Wizard Quest! It was so much fun that we went twice! It is very well done. There is little doubt that those who run this place really enjoy their work. They've created a magical fantasy world, full of secret passages and puzzles. If you are into fantasy -- wizards, fairies and the such -- then this place is a must for you! Our party had 4 adults and 2 children (aged 11 and 16). Everyone was impressed with the level of detail. On our first visit, we freed only 1 wizard. On the second, we freed 3. read more

Interesting place. Not really sure what to make of it. Basically, you go into these fantasy themed realms and try answer questions based on random things they have hidden throughout the realms. You then answer these questions on a screen and get points (called glimmers) which you use to free wizards. Yup. The inside of the place is like a jungle gym. There are slides, a ball pit, and you have to crawl around to get to some places. So this isn't a good place to go if you're not flexible or you're disabled or something. Its also surprisingly hard. We had a team of 7 relatively smart and somewhat nerdy guys, and we only managed to free 2 of the 4 wizards during the 90 minutes you have to do it. Of course, all you get for free wizards is a discount in their lame gift shop (which we just walked right through without even looking at the stuff) so who cares. Anyway, this is probably fun for kids I guess. Mostly my friends and I just had fun making jokes about everything and goofing around, but after 90 minutes we were definitely done with it and ready to leave. 3.5 stars. read more

This place is pretty cool. We've been to magicquest in tennessee and it's very similar and they are both a lot of fun. I actually prefer carrying a kindle around compared to using a wand to open things. My wife and I plus our 8 year old did the medium quest and the difficulty was just right for an hour of play. There was one spot I had trouble with as an old guy and that was the ball out (no balls due to covid). It was a little tough to crawl through but doable. Overall the place was laid out nice and we had a real blast finding all the clues. If you like immersive games I totally recommend it, even if you're not a little kid. read more

One of the funnest places I've ever been! We completed 8 quests in our two hours and ended up going back to finish the last 8! The work and creativity that went into here is incredible. 10 out of 10!! read more

Today marks our 4th visit over the course of the last several years... My son absolutely loves this place! Definitely need parents to help younger kids out, and be prepared for some tight squeezes and the need to climb through some tunnels, into some ball pits, etc. Prices are a bit on the high side for a 90-minute indoor Dells activity (in my opinion at $14.99 for ages over 11), and I've found it difficult to find discounts unless you tie it to a visit to Ripley's (located next door). All in all, a great activity for kids of all ages, especially on a rainy day. We definitely recommend. read more

What a rip off!!! So after we paid over $160+ for the whole family, they then tell us that there is an extra $5 fee for a cheap black light flashlight that we will need to free the Air Wizard. Oh but the $160+ only buys the entire family one hour, so we were not even close to saving the 4 wizards so it would have been a total waste of money and the concept is horrible business. How about instead spending more money for more time to actually free their wizards... but they would prefer a family to pay full price (or their 10% off coupon) to free the rest. What a scam!!! Overall the experience was crowded and the whole building is worn down. It's pretty easy to find hidden areas when there are huge marks on the walls. I love scavenger hunts and thought this would be the same. I also went here many years ago before they added the kindles, now it is complicated and there is a ton of reading of nonsense. This is a rip off... so glad I didn't get crazy and add on Ripleys next door. Best part was the free popcorn when you buy tickets online. Plus, this place is not handicapped accessible or alternatively the challenges are not possible for people that are overweight or are younger. I am neither and I couldn't do some challenges which takes the fun out of the experience. Save your money and buy some popcorn or fudge instead or go have fun on some go-carts... this place is the biggest rip off in Wisconsin Dells!!!!!!!!!! read more

I was skeptical but the kiddo's insisted so we paid the fee to go on the quest. The instructions are super vague. I think it consisted of "here's a kindle, don't break it or you bought it...good luck" Then enter the game. We were never really clear how to unlock or capture of find a wizard. We kept answering questions, finding hidden areas, ball pits, secret doors etc. That part was fun but I think we would have appreciated a little more instructions. Also everything seemed a little soiled, like they don't really clean the place so slides felt a bit greasy and there was dust on a lot of just "stuff." That's just par for the course though. The kids loved it and while as a parent I didn't like bumping my head about 100 times it was a fantastic maze with some very unique creativity and game work. read more

Two teen girls (14 & 16) and two adults went before we headed out of Wisconsin Dells. One of the adults had done it in the previous location with her two boys and said it was good. Indeed, the new location is bigger and better. Tickets are for 2 hours, and you carry an iPad around that interacts with the various quests in a pretty big facility that had lots of interesting mystery doors, portals, etc. The 2 hours went by fairly quickly, and although we went in the summer, it would make a perfect thing to do in the winter. The first clues took far too long, as it wasn't clear what we were supposed to do, so I'd recommend asking the various characters walking around for help. Once we got the hang of it, we were doing other quests in about 10 min each. We only completed a fraction of the number available, and they move clues around, I'm told, so if you lived nearby, you could go multiple times. We decided to do one iPad between the 4 of us, and if I were to do it again, I'd probably use an iPad between 2 people, so everyone gets a turn reading the clues and pressing the buttons. Although 2 hours was only enough for about half of the 16 clues, it was plenty of time for us, and we started to get tired. Highly recommend. read more

This is my FAVORITE place to go to in the Dells. Whenever I make a trip up there I have to stop in! I don't really go through it to free the wizards and get the discount but I do enjoy answering the questions and exploring. The awesome thing is that they change the questions and locations of the wizards so it's always something new. Reading the other reviews though I am surprised at how many people have problems with crowds. Maybe I'm just lucky but I've never been in a group of more than 10 people. Overall I highly recommend wizard quest if you're looking for something new and exciting. I love it! read more

We had a blast! Every time we are in the Dells my daughter asks to go to Wizard Quest and I finally gave in and took her. I was completely blown away with how submersed you get into the game and "realm" once you enter. We decided to take a look around and see where everything was before we started our timer and I am so happy we did! My daughter, my husband, and I climbed, slid, crawled, and laughed so much. We wound up freeing all of the wizards and had a blast doing it. We needed a couple of clues throughout and there was a staff member in the main room to help out if you are lost. The decor and props was very well done and it made you feel like you have actually stepped into a magical world. I definitely recommend this family fun outing, and I will be returning on our next vacation to the dells! read more

Was an absolute disappointment, took forever to figure out how anything worked, half the displays were broken or just didn't have the info needed. There were so many people in the game area that you were standing in lines to solve puzzles. In the end I had to give up due to the impossible nature of the puzzles. Not worth going to and a major disappointment for how much it cost. read more

We had a lot of fun and will go back. We did a medium level quest. (I'd suggest an easy quest for families with children under 10 years old.) What a great time for the family! It was like a scavenger hunt where you had to find things in different rooms. We had 3 girls ages 6, 9 and 13 and tried to get them all involved which was fun! The decor was awesome and for sure a lot of stairs (or slides) to go back and forth between areas. The different rooms were the best part!! We did the medium level and even with two adults took until last several minutes because we were hung up on a few things to find. Overall the kids had fun though it is pricey for the whole family to do- was nearly $100 for the 5 of us. read more

We purchased the combo tickets (Ripken's and Wizard Quest). We had two teens with us. It was a fun little fantasy game. We played the difficult game, it kept us busy. Had so much fun with my video gamer son. Innovative idea and loved the concept.

100% honesty... This place is amazing ! I've passed it so many times and never went in, but I am so glad I did this time! I am 22 years old and my boyfriend is 29 and we both LOVED this place. It's so interactive and unique, I wish there was one where we lived! I believe it's fairly priced ($15 a ticket). and you can purchase a combo ticket ($20 a ticket) which will include Ripley's Believe It Or Not which can be redeemed ANY time. The staff was so friendly and informative. I will DEFINITELY be back and HIGHLY recommend this place. It's made for adults with children in mind (as it says on the website) and is so true. Even if you don't have kids to take, Still go! It's so worth it ! read more

This was SO much fun. It was my husband, myself, and our two kids (13 and 9). Honestly I would have gone there even w/o kids it was so fun. Both our kids had a blast and the 2 hours of time u get went by so fast. Totally would recommend this to any and all ages! read more

I enjoyed the old location, but this new one is massive! At 41, I brought my siblings and we had a blast running around. My sister described it as "a real-life where's waldo game." BasedBased on the reviews I thought that my children and I would enjoy this more but while the quest item hunting was "somewhat" fun the actual kindle tablet based program used to track your progress and solve the puzzles was extremely over complicated specially for the children. What's worst is that every time you get a wrong answer you lose "time" and when you lose all the time allotted the game ends in you! There is NO WAY to earn that time back via retrying for a correct answer. It almost feels like work and not entertainment, which is what it should be. To top it all off....if you get a wrong item in one of the final quests you have to RE- SEARCH everything again just to make sure you didn't miss anything. Long story short.....Terribly designed...extremely long winded....... And frustrating for children who just want to "feel" proud that they accomplished something in a quest. I will not be recommending this personally to anyone but rather telling them one on one the same thing I reviewed here. What a shame. They were really excited at the beginning. Update: After asking for a manager and him hearing my complaints he refunded me back all but one child admission and then offered us a %20 discount at their affiliated Ripley's Believe it or not! I will add 2 stars to raise it to 3 due to the attention to customer satisfaction the manager gave us making the whole experience less " painful' for my family. read more

Been a while since I've been to The Dells so we decided to take my eight year old. I have never seen Wizard Quest before so this was a first for me but I love absolutely anything whimsical and this was absolutely Breathtaking. Unicorns fairies wizards the works. From props done to the lighting this place Made you feel like you were living in a fairytale. The only way to go to the bottom floor to figure out all of your clothes is to take these Chuck E. Cheese looking carpeted stairs that would require climbing, or tunnel slides. I didn't see that posted anywhere and I think it's probably some important information to let some parents know as they may not be comfortable sliding down these tunnel slides. It's not a far way down but with someone with a bad back I imagine this could make it worse aside from that this place was absolutely wonderful and I personally enjoyed the slide going down. It was exciting to see my daughter figure out all of these clues. There are three different levels one is for little children the second one is intermediate level and the third one is adults. We will be back for the intermediate level! read more

I really liked wizard quest, but there are just a few things that really bring the stars down. I'll start with the good. It is a very unique experience and if you are an RPG type of person you'll be in heaven. The layout is really cool and there are a lot of areas to explore and a shit ton of questions to be answered. There are secret passages to be found and puzzles to be solved, so put your thinking caps on. The price is reasonable and we spent almost 2 hours playing the game, so we definitely got our moneys worth. I'm actually thinking about building a wizard quest in my basement. I admit if the negative things can be worked on this is a four or five star place. First of all it is WAY too crowded in there. I understand that you need to make money and squeeze as many people through as you can, but sometimes it was impossible to move. I don't know if the AC was broken that day, but it was way too hot. Nothing like a thousand bodies packed in a hot place, especially when most of those bodies have been eating a lot of garlic cheese in the past week. The smells were epic. They should also pass out cups for the gentleman, because you are going to be hit in the balls by passing children at least a half a dozen times. I really like the wizard quest and hope that at least the temperature problem can be worked on for the next visit. read more

Wizard Quest was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to the Dells. Keep in mind we went late at night very early in the season so there were no children and only one other group there when we quest. I can imagine that if there were lots of other people around and you are the kind of person who either doesn't like being around lots of young people or doesn't like to let you young person wander off on there own, Wizard Quest might give you anxiety. There are a lot of things to crawl through and slide down. If this isn't you cup of tea you probably aren't going to have as much fun as we did. But let me do my best to describe what's going on here. So basically, there is this evil wizard, Havoc, and he has trapped the wizards of the four realms (Air, Earth, Fire, and Water). Your team (we were the Gemini Dragon Friends) has to explore the realms and find the four wizards to free them. Sounds easy, right? Wrong. Here's the deal. First you have to raise up enough magical power (glimmers) to free them. To do this you have to run around finding answers to questions and input the answers into these really '90s looking computer kiosks. Luckily there were 10 of us on my team! I would have never been able to find them all in the 90 minute time limit by myself. Which is fine, because winning is not really the point (unless you are on the super competitive Team Gemini Dragon Friends) it's more about exploring and enjoying the really weird land of Wizard Quest. Besides all yo get for winning is a better discount in the gift shop. Plus - let me just say, when you're running around by yourself, that place can be a bit creepy at times. I was slightly scared wandering around the fire realm by myself with no one else around. But the whole thing was like a dream come true for the little magical wizard/knight/princess inside of me! The realms are littered with all sorts of magical items and creatures for the gawking at - not to mention all the hidden doors and secret passages. Nothing is more exhilarating than finding that wall that hinges into a passageway. And if all that fails to catch your fancy, there are slides, a ball pit, and tons of things to climb up and crawl through. Warning to future adultsized explorers....When the ballpit has a sign that says: cannonball! They aren't talking to you. The pit is not that deep...but if you're really having fun you'll probably walk away with a few bumps and bruises. read more

Think Lord Of The Rings meets McDonalds Playland...but more mystical and less clowns. I'm a huge RPG / fantasy / Renaissance geek, so Wizard Quest was right up my alley. Enter the arena: a labyrinth containing four realms of Air, Earth, Fire, and Water. As a hero, your goal is to rescue four imprisoned wizards, each from their respective element. To do so, you have to answer riddles and find clues hidden throughout the labyrinth. Answering correctly earns "glimmers" (or in adult geek-speak: Mana). Accrue a certain amount of "glimmers" and you can free a wizard. There are all sorts of obstacles to go through, such as ball pits, hidden passage ways, and a forest of mirrors. I really enjoyed the life-like characters of faeries, trolls, and dwarfs. Aesthetically, this place is amazing. Back to the game: you have 90 minutes to rack up "glimmers," locate and free all four wizards. My team of puzzle-loving nerds found the challenges to be surprisingly difficult. We found 2 of the 4 wizards. What do you win for freeing all four? 10% off in the Wizard Quest Gift Shop. If you're an adult that can't wait to do some live RPG, I recommend bringing knee pads, fingerless gloves, and definitely not wearing a skirt. Your limbs will thank you afterwards. Wizard Quest is one of the few decent attractions I visited in Wisconsin Dells. I was disappointed with the anti-climatic ending and thought it was too difficult for a 90 minute game, much less a game designed for children. read more

They moved the wizards! Oh yes, after the success that has become of Wizard Quest they changed things around for repeat business. Even I've been there twice. When you know the answers and get your points you get a bigger reward at the end which the management probably didn't like. And also, it gets boring after the second time when you've finished the game finally (because you failed miserably the first time) and now are going to do the same thing a third time. It is only fun for the really devoted and the people who haven't finished yet. Or small people who can fit through everything and just look at it as a big jungle gym. Even as the dearly devoted it still makes me dissapointed when spots like this I dig so much don't change things up too much. I don't think I mentioned before but it's a pretty badass place to bring a camera. Especially if you're coming with your kids and you're willing to let them run around on their own, or they're old enough that you trust them to be fine, you can snap some cool shots of the whole world, including of your kids of course. Hell, they might even snap a few pictures of you. It's one of those all ages games, but the older you are, quite definatley the harder it will/would be to climb through and over and under some of these little paths. OH OH Also, they did add some stuff, and fix some broken stuff, and oh oh it's so cool :) This time limit is fixed, I think you get either an hour or an hour and a half. They made the question papers nicer and the wands more durable which is a super plus. If you're not in it for a full basted game or you have little kids who are going to be doing more playing than questing, you'll want the basic game. Free those wizards people!! ::Battle cry:: read more

This is THE best thing about the Dells that does not involve water. Do not miss this if you are in town, as we had an absolute blast. Go with a bunch of friends, and go near closing so you'll have the place basically to yourself. We were hardcore puzzle solvers, and we BEAT THAT GAME on hard by finding all 4 wizards with 10 minutes to spare. True, it was surprisingly difficult and so if you're with a younger group you probably shouldn't expect to beat the whole thing. But it sure is fun to see how far you can get, and there is so much to crawl around and jump on that kids should have a great time. One word of warning: Those slides when you first come in are all nubbly as you slide down and are really not comfortable, so be careful if you don't want a sore behind. read more

Who doesn't like going into a magical realm to go save wizards?!?!?! This is pretty much an epic experience, I would have been in heaven had I gone as a child. You get to solve riddles and puzzles, explore, climb things, go in a mirror maze, dive into a ball pit, all among fairies and elves and whatnot. You get 2 hours to rescue the 4 wizards, and it definitely can be tricky. What is also nice is that they change the riddles/questions once or twice a year, so you can go again and have a new experience (although I'm pretty sure the wizards' hidden locations don't change). This is a great group activity. I went at the age of 18 and had a blast. It is a good indoor activity to waste a couple of hours, and the decorations inside are beautiful and enchanting! read more

This is a long overdue review of my October, 2009 visit to Wizard Quest. Went with a friend of mine on our trip to the Dells. We're both women in our mid-twenties, and we had a great time!! I think a HUGE reason why we loved it so much is that we went on a weekday, mid-day, in mid-October. I think there were only 2-4 other groups in the place the whole time we were there. I can totally see how this attraction would be just awful and not fun at all when crowded, but we pretty much had the place to ourselves and had a blast-- it's really the only good way to do something like this. No one giving away the answers to the riddles, or showing us which way to go or what to do. We were able to figure everything our for ourselves. Loved the jungle gym aspect of it. I've long said there should be a Chuck E. Cheese/Discovery Zone-esque place like this for grown-ups (we like to run around and have fun just as much as the kids, but prefer to do it without running the risk of trampling the kids and/or taking away from their fun), and I'm disappointed that the only one I've found is halfway across the country, but very glad I got to experience it. Only criticism of my experience would be, as some other reviewers mentioned, I wish there hadn't been a time limit, or that the time limit had been a bit longer. I understand the need for a time limit when the place is packed and there's a line out the door, but it would be great if they'd give you some more leeway in the off-season. Would definitely come back again, but never during high tourism season. read more

Wizard Quest - Hidden room - Amusement Parks Near Me - Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin

A decent adventure. My fiance' and I went here on our recent trip to the Dells. The waterparks were basically human soup and zombie-walking mile long lines, so we decided to go off the beaten path so to speak. As we are both fans of fantasy and the place looked fun, so we checked it out. All in all it was a fairly fun (but somewhat exhausting) way to spend 90 minutes. The good: A fun mix of a funhouse, an RPG, and brain teasers/riddles. Some of the puzzles, obstacles, and scenery were very cool and interesting. Although not cheap, it wasn't expensive either and you get your moneys work and a good workout (both physically and mentally) from the experience. The bad: I could see this place being hellish if it is crowded (luckily it wasn't too bad when we were there). And the quests/questions/riddles can be somewhat confusing and oddly questioned/positioned and definitely too hard for most children. Also the whole thing seemed too "busy". Some of the exhibits are very cool, but seems like they tried to cram as much as they could into the space. They either need a bigger space, or reduce some of the "clutter" and concentrate on quality over quantity. Plus the "prize" for busting your mind and body for 90 minutes? A discount at the gift shop and surrounding participating stores. Seems kinda cheap for what you have to go through, maybe hand out nice certificates or a button at least. The ugly: The acting... during the introduction, we nearly walked out because the Wizards intros were so lame and poorly acted. And this is a fantasy based adventure game... they should make their "Ranger Adventurers Assistants" look the part instead of just a boring work-shirt and the "helper" we had didn't really know her stuff at all and spent about 10 minutes babbling while we were trying to get going. All in all though, it was much better and far more fun than we were expecting. Some of the obstacles were fairly challenging for the two of us, but still rather fun. I would suggest wearing jeans at the very least and preferably knee pads because there is a fair amount of crawling around. So if you are in the area and looking something fun and different to do, you could do far worse than check out Wizard Quest. read more

Magical world of wizards and fairies--great for kids but not too young...it's a lot of riddles, puzzles and climbing/crawling with a bit of technology. The game isn't explained well..or at all..but since I have been 2x I will explain. You are given a sheet of clues for each world (Air, Earth, Fire, Water) and within each world you find the answers to the riddles or questions by exploring around. Once you know the answers, find a computer, scan the barcode on your page and type in the answers to the questions. If they are right you will receive "glimmers" (points). You can only unlock the wizard of that world (thus completing the level) if you have enough glimmers. And then you move on and so on. Time limit is a little rough at the end. 90 minutes to finish and then you become hyper as the time limit nears. I wont give it away..but don't worry AT ALL if you don't "win". It's a fun time for a rainy or snowy day..a bit pricey but so is a movie for 2 hours. Have fun! read more

We went there after a very long day and were super excited to go, but when we arrived, we didn't receive any customer service or help. In our group we had 5 kids. The oldest, 16, said it was so boring and dumb and unstructured. The next, 12 said that it was not at all organized very confusing, not very clean, and was too scary for little kids. The middle child, 10, said that it was terrible and confusing and ruined her whole trip.!:( The next, 8, said it was dumb and scary. The youngest, 4, said it was scary and almost peed his pants in most parts. All in all, if you A) hate claustrophobic areas B) dislike the dark C) are not flexible D) are not able to climb in the McDonald's play places E) don't like weird lighting F) don't like animations G) aren't good at solving riddles .......... Then you would probably hate this place too. read more
