No value for work done by them and I already paid for over half with a cashier's check just to start the work. It will cost me more now to hire a reputable contractor to fix these blunders. I originally hired them because I saw how hard they worked and how good a job they did on my neighbor's deck. They did the same building mine. When things went wrong they fixed them. They stayed until everything was right with quality results. This was a large $100K+ project. They might not be the cheapest but they are reasonably priced for what they do. Being trustworthy means a lot to me. Someone in the neighborhood reportedly had a deck contractor walk out on them after spending $85K. That was never a concern with Nate despite being a long project. This project involved redoing the roof, electrical, pouring concrete below the deck, doing stucco work and redoing gutters along with building a deck and adding windows and doors. Nate essentially served as a general contractor for the non-deck items. We basically took a 30'X10' deck and expanded it 5' to make it 30'X15' then divided it in half making a 15'X15' room covered by a gabled roof with windows on one side and sliding doors on the other side and open to the west. The other 15'X15' portion of the deck remained completely open. As far as quality of the work I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

It appeared that the owner was a competent professional. However after they poured a 30' by 16'…read morefoot patio I realized that they had no idea what they were doing. The top step was short of the door casing by 2 inches and crooked by 20 degrees. There were footprints in the finished concrete and they left bucket marks in the finished product as well. After a week of the pour bieng completed the entire patio cracked in half due to the fact that they didn't use wire mesh or rebar as listed in the contract. Fred, the owner, agreed that it was inferior work and was willing to remove the job that he was paid $7400.00 for and re pour the job. The second pour took over a month to get started and 2 more weeks to complete. They destroyed the backyard with their Bobcat. They broke a window and claimed that it was already broken. They also ruined my gate and said that it must have been the wind. As they were preping for the second attempt the used hammers to remove siding off my house and they had planned to pour concrete against the plywood on the house. I asked Fred if this is how he prepares a wall for concrete? He replied, "Now that we screwed up you expect all these extras for free?" As if flashing a house is an added feature. I ended up flashing and re siding the area for him before the re pour. Fred also used 2 x 4's for the form which yielded a 3 and a half inch pour. The minimum depth according to state law is 4 inches. When I asked him why he was using 2 x 4's he became frustrated and yelled,, " They are 4 inches, thats what your supposed to use!" I was really let down to realize that Fred didn't even know that a 2 x 4 measures 3 and a half inches. They did use re bar but only 5 pieces were used. It did not run the whole length of the patio either.. Rebar was not run along the perimeter at all, just 5 random pieces are floating in the middle of the patio. Fred didn't even use a re bar bender. He tried to bend the re bar by hand and further more none of it was staked in place. It was the sloppiest mess I had ever seen After the second pour was done it cracked as the first one did. Fred tried to paint the cracks with brown expoxy and he felt that this was a professional fix. After a few weeks he agreed that it looked really bad and he agreed to re surface the patio.. He cancelled 7 x over 3 weeks to finish the patio. This situation is now in the hands of our judicial system and insurance
