DON'T TRUST ORKIN PEST CONTROL…read more A representative arrived to look at my house, and then tell me everything I would need to organize, pack up or move, and then attempt a sale of some crap they wanted to spray in the attic, and all Orkin would exert themselves on is by waving their bug be gone wand--all for only $3500.00. The very persistant, annoying, commission based rep called five times to set a date, and I explained to her a family member was very ill and it would need to be put on hold. Appearing on my next MC statement, a posting of $113.66. It seems this was a "consultation fee" for that great dog and pony show she really strained herself on. And it would not count toward a sevice. They will not refund, even for the bank Said I didn't cancel in time (the family member passed, I forgot Orkin)The business is Amarillo's very own Orkin branch, 1700 SE 14th. 806.905.5650

I do not recommend using this company I really wanted this service to work, but unfortunately, I…read morehaven't seen the results I expected. The ant hill was already there before I started using the company, and despite it being treated multiple times, the ants are still there. The product they use doesn't seem to be effective for this particular problem. The staff has been pleasant, but ultimately, I'm paying for pest control because I want the pests eliminated, and that hasn't happened. I'm hoping they can try a different product or treatment method because the current approach just isn't getting the job done.

One day, a young man came to my door as part of a neighborhood sales effort, and I answered. He was…read morefrom EnviroGuard and seemed quite persistent, but he was also very nice. I explained to him that I live on Social Security each month and didn't think I could afford the service. He then offered me the first month free. I thought I could manage that, and he assured me that I could cancel at any time. Having dealt with similar situations in my seventies, I told him I needed to confirm whether there were any hidden fees. He assured me there were none. Although I didn't read everything thoroughly, he was adamant that I could cancel whenever I wanted. Today, I tried to call to cancel the service, and I had to reach out to Lubbock. They do not accept text messages or emails. The lady I spoke with informed me that if I canceled, I would have to pay a $400 penalty. I explained that this fee was never mentioned to me, not once. Her response was dismissive; she simply stated, "Well, it's too bad." Now they are sending threatening emails. At that point, she canceled my account, but now I feel I have to contest that $400 penalty. I want to warn others, especially seniors, about this experience. They told me everything I wanted to hear, and I ultimately feel scammed. Please stay away from this company.
