I started off my 'journey' with Rx Computers and Rob Tarket about 6 months ago when I wanted to…read morebuild a custom computer. I genuinely wanted to put it together myself but I know enough about computers to get myself into trouble. And given what I was planning on spending on custom parts and pieces to build a solid gaming computer, I figured it was not the time to experiment now. I contacted Rob and asked if he built custom PC's which he does. He dispensed some very good advice about parts he would pick for a build. I then went out and did my research and started to gather all these components together. Ended up delayed in my build plan by 6 months for personal reasons as well as waiting for the prices of the GTX 1080 Ti video card to drop. During this time, Rob would answer questions about compatibility and quality. Keep in mind that all through this, I haven't paid him a dime yet. Finally, I was able to go ahead and purchase my components. I walk into his shop with a plastic bin filled with every everything. He cataloged my parts, took pictures of them and proceeded to assemble the finest gaming computer I have ever owned. It took him a week after I dropped the parts off. The PC I have is silent, powerful and a work of art (provided you like LED displays in your gaming computer). Even after the service, Rob took time to answer my questions about hooking up some peripheral components that he did not sell me to help me put my computer Nirvana together. I truly feel that Rob is the 'expert's expert'. There was not one negative thing about this whole process with him from start to finish and I highly recommend his business if you have computer needs.

The past nine months I've been trying to get them to install new fireplace doors, which is not a major install. Their "one-man shop" Kevin came out to our house early autumn of 2022 to take measurements and give us a quote and then again three months later in December 2022 when we hadn't heard anything back. He apologized for "dropping the ball" and assured us he would get the job going. On 12/10/22 he sent us a rough outline of the work they would perform and I wrote back the same day saying sign us up, whatever money you need in advance we can provide by check or credit card. One thing led to another and we never heard back from them. Small business's can get busy and I was busy as well, and the winter passed by. So yesterday, 6/22/23, I called them up saying things must have gotten lost in the shuffle, but I wanted to see if they could do the fireplace door. No harm done, we just wanted to pick off where we left off. Kevin got super defensive right away saying I had never gotten back to them. I was stunned and I sent him my email from 12/10/22, which clearly had said sign us up, whatever money you need up front I can provide. So then he changed his story to that I had never sent a check...totally bizarre considering I had never been asked for a payment amount. But this revised story was also BS, when Kevin left our house in December he said he would reach out to a subcontractor to install what's called a lintil, which is like a frame in which the fireplace doors sit. He and Nordic Stove Shoppe just never followed through on what they said they'd do. We all make mistakes or miss things, myself included, I was just calling up to see if we could get it done over the summer when presumably it would be less busy. The CYA, defensiveness, and leveling of blame by Nordic Stove Shoppe was bizarre and unprofessional. Kevin cut the call short by saying he felt sure they wouldn't want my business and the owner Ed followed up this morning telling me to take my business somewhere else. After nine months of waiting on them! The owner Ed followed up with a checklist of how they do businesses, which was particularly ridiculous because I had followed every step in their process. Unprofessional, dishonest, and really at the end of the day weaselly. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. This company is not to be trusted.
