Found this doctor as he is a specialist in the issue I'm having with my eye. He's kind of funny with a little bit of sarcastic personality, but I like him and he definitely knows his stuff. Office is very nice and friendly and I like that they stick to appointment times you never wait me up in 15 minutes. Had surgery with him last week so far I'm pretty happy with everything. read more

Dr Wisnicki is fantastic. I have had double vision for most of my life, I am 40 now. I had strabismus surgery a week ago with dr Wisniki and since right after I have single vision! It's a miracle! I have been experiencing double-vision for two years and was prone to headaches from the stress of not seeing straight. Dr. Kupersmith recommended that I see Dr. Wisnicki, and even though there was a waiting list of a month, I am so glad I did! Dr. Wisnicki was reassuring and thorough in explaining the procedure and the other side of the procedure. A week out of having the surgery, I went back for my follow-up exam and my eyesight has been restored to single vision. No more bumping into people on the streets of Manhattan or having to close one eye to watch TV. I could see why people like him and I sort of do as well. He did operate on me for double vision, but the waiting!!! Waiting to see him at his office,waiting for for someone to let me know what time the surgery is--no one ever called and then waiting all day at the hospital for the surgery to began and then waiting for him to see me after to find out how everything went-that never happened either. It's as if he is the doctor and you are the moron-don't expect answers. It could have been so much much easier instead it was filled with anxiety, fear and boredom. I am glad it's over. read more

Dr. Wisnicki is an amazing ophthalmologist, and I highly recommend him. After some research and waiting more than 20 years to get a second eye surgery to fix my strabismus, I finally decided to request a consultation with Dr. Wisnicki. He is extremely knowledgeable, has a great personality, and a New York accent that makes his sense of humor quite entertaining:) For those who complain about the long wait, I would just say that 45 minutes or more in a waiting room is not the end of the world, considering what you get in return. Dr. Wisnicki really understands how having a strabismus affects people's life, and is very reassuring and straight forward about it. What a wonderful surgeon AND person. That about sums it all up, but for the specifics, here ya go: My husband experienced double vision for 7...yes, SEVEN...years, and all the gurus he saw in South Florida offered nothing more than prism lenses and a 'suck it up' attitude. I worried, of course, about his driving and day-to-day life's chores, and after years of being put off by the local head-honcho-doctors, I/we decided to seek a referral for someone in the NYC area...our second home....who might offer another opinion and who might possibly help. We were referred to Dr. Wisnicki by my husband's Neuro-Ophthalmalogist in South Florida, and after one...yes, one...consultation with Dr. Wisnicki, my husband was told, "I can fix this!" And, so, without any reservations, my husband decided to have the surgery and IT WAS A TOTAL AND HUGE SUCCESS!!!! I cannot tell you how appreciative we are. Dr. Wisnicki is the best Ophthalmologist EVER!!!! It's been over 2 years post strabismus surgery and I couldn't be any happier with the results. Dr. Wisnicki provided me with exceptional service. . I have strabismus/ estrophia which means one or both (in my case both) eyes turn inward. I've had the condition since i was about 2 years old but it was intermittent and didn't bother me much throughout high school and college. It wasn't until my late twenties that it started to be a constant issue that made very insecure, i also suffered from double vision and headaches. After about 6 or 7 months of pre-op office visits, (the waiting times could be long, but worth it), I was finally cleared for surgery which took about 3-4 hours. The results are phenomenal and healing process was very fast. I was out of work from Thursday until Tuesday. My eyes were sore for about a 2 weeks and they were red for about 6 weeks. I has to have an adjustable suture in my right eye so that one took a little longer to heal. I used over the counter pain meds the first few says and some eye drops the hospital provided for about 6 weeks and then i was all fixed my double vision is about 75 % better 2 years out. The only thing i would have done different was to have the surgery sooner. If your looks for surgeon or Ophthalmologist, you're in good hands with Dr. Wisnicki. I very infrequently leave reviews for anything online, but I felt that I had to for Dr. Wisnicki. I have had a strabismus for nearly 40 years. It wasn't treated correctly when I was a child. As an adult, I was told by doctors that it wasn't fixable. As anyone with strabismus (I'm sure) knows, it can make you constantly self conscious. It can make you shy away from being in photos. It can make you apprehensive about meeting new people. I dealt with it well and got over most of that. What changed was that I didn't want my son to grow up without me in lots of pictures with him or for him to be less outgoing than he might be due to my example. After much research about who can treat adult strabismus, I decided to see Dr. Wisnicki. His bio and qualifications made him seem like "the guy" if there was one. This may have been one of the best decisions I ever made. I immediately was impressed with his demeanor and obvious knowledge of my condition. After tests, he recommended and I went through with surgery. The surgery was a pheonominal success. My eyes are straight and normal and I couldn't be happier. Plan to spend time waiting in the office. I expected this as it seems that a long wait is a common complaint online. I planned for that (and so should you) so it wasn't an issue. I also think it is an extremely small price to pay for what could potentially be a very positive thing. I cannot recommend Dr. Wisnicki enough. I am grateful to him. My adult son Todd has had double vision for about 5 years. It was a result of sixth nerve palsy. We went for a consultation with Dr. Wisnicki this fall. Dr. W. was efficient, knowledgeable and understanding at the same time. He told Todd that he had three choices....live with the double vision, wear a patch on one eye forever or have the muscle surgery. Surgery has risks, all of which he adequately explained to us. Todd decided to take the plunge and have the surgery. After that there was a pre op appointment during which all questions were answered and then the surgery........which happened like clockwork and was exactly as described. Todd only missed two days of work in total. He now can look straight ahead and not see double. Hands down the worst eye doctor I've ever seen. On my last visit a few months ago both my vision and my lazy eye condition in my right eye had worsened, but Dr. Wisnicki just blew it off and acted like it was no big deal. If anything, he should've known better since he *supposedly* specializes in my condition. To make matters worse, whatever prescription he gave me is garbage, because my vision in my right eye is actually worse with my glasses on. I've had better luck with drugstore glasses. I'm currently trying to find an optometrist who actually knows what they're doing and takes the take to listen and properly address my concerns. read more

This doctor is amazing! I was born with strabismus and due to a bad surgical experience as a child put off getting my eyes corrected out of fear. Dr. Wisnicki made me feel safe and comfortable. He performed strabismus surgery on me last week and it has changed my life. If you want a good eye doctor, go to this guy! He takes his time and doesnt rush through each appointment. I will never go back to this doctor and office . I waited 45 min the staff was rude . It's a mill and he is not anyone special the lady sitting next to me also walked out . I went to desk to say I can't wait any longer ,the secretary said no problem good bye . I looked at her and said after waiting 45 min she said that's the way it is if you don't want to see him no problem . There was another patient before me that also just left without seeing the doctor the staff doesn't care and the doctor is the same way . This doctor is the best!!! At first we went to another doctor. The first thing to fly out of his mouth was to perform surgery on my little girl. He was very rude and pushy, and didn't really seem to care about our concerns. We didn't like that doctor, so we left his office and never went back. After some online research, we came across Dr. Wisnicki. He was very friendly, and related to our concerns, being a parent of baby twins himself. He tried to solve my 3 year old daughter's problem with strabismus, a form of lazy eye (on both eyes) with eye patches at first, then glasses. As parents, the last thing we wanted was surgery for our daughter. He understood, so he tried every option available to avoid it. Unfortunately, nothing worked. Our last resort for my now 5 year old daughter, was surgery in both eyes to correct the issue with the optic nerves. I was very worried, as a parent, putting your child through surgery is a very nerve racking kind of thing. Dr. Wisnicki was very thorough in explaining the chances of a successful surgery, and after talking about it, we felt it was the only way, the best way to go. My daughter went in for surgery on Thursday last week. Everything went great!! She went in for testing a few days ago, and she passed all her tests with flying colors!! She sees perfect from both eyes, and no sign of strabismus anymore, no more wandering eyes. This man is a miracle worker!! I will always be grateful, and thankful that we went to this doctor.
