BEWARE OF ROSSLYN location - Atrocious management N. LYNN ST. Sold me a $30 specialty grandma pie that was completely burnt - black and terrible. I took pictures and contacted the Store manager "JACK" - who was the most unprofessional manager ever. He REFUSED to refund me my money - even after seeing the pictures below of burnt pizza. Jack argued and argued non-stop for half an hour with me and was just really quite obnoxious. He kept me on the phone for over half and hour and I felt like I was being hustled by some back alley sort of person. If it was just one or two slices then I would not bother to call and just let it go - but not a Whole $30 specialty pie for a special event. Even if most WiseGuys pizza is not usually this burnt, and this was a mistake - the way their store manager handled it was the true let down and insult. That is the most unforgettable part. If you're looking for fairly good pizza at a decent price - this place has got you covered! We ordered takeout on a Sunday evening. The order was finished in under 20 minutes, and with minimal traffic in Rosslyn on Sunday evenings it was easy to drive up, hop out and grab your food quickly. There's a wide variety of preset pizzas - ranging from classics like the Margherita to Chicken Tikka Masala. We picked the Godfather pizza, which has bacon, ham, sausage and pepperoni, and were able to add ricotta for no extra charge. The pizza came with a good amount of toppings and had a nice crispy crust. It was a little on the oily side, but that's to be expected with a meat heavy pie. With several places throughout DC, I visited the Rosslyn location as it was within walking distance from my apartment. The staff are so nice and there's always a crowd at this cute little shop. Wiseguy Pizza is really, really good. Very thin, NY style. Ingredients are good tasting, although the dough is by far the best part of the pie. The huge slices make 2 enough for a meal, 3 if you're very hungry. Taking off a star for a couple of reasons. And mind you, I've only eaten here once. However the cheese really could have been done more. You know the difference between that pizza cheese that starts to brown vs. the mass of uniformly solid white? Almost feels undercooked, looks a little unappetizing? Well that's what I got. I thought, "man I wish this had 40 seconds under a broiler or something to brown on top." (When I reheated leftovers the next day, you better believe that's what I did.) I also felt the toppings on the Pepperoni + Mushroom pie I ordered were skimpy for the sky-high $2.79/topping price point. Another NY pizzeria in the area has double the topping density - not exaggerating - for the same price per topping. I didn't feel the toppings themselves were that much better or worse quality than other places, so that value just felt off. Finally, while checking out online, the system prompted me to add 3 garlic knots for $2.99. These were just OK, not sure I'd order again. They were very crispy on the outside, almost flaky like a baked dessert, and airy on the inside. I was expecting a doughy ball of garlic-y goodness like I usually encounter with knots. This was something different and sort of threw me off. In all, it's very good pizza that I'd highly recommend. I ordered a thin cheese slice and a grandma' cheese slice, which is a slightly thicker slice that is square. Both slices were really good. It is New York style pizza sold by the slices, or you can buy whole pies. The slices have crispy bottoms and are greasy, just like one would expect for NY style pizza. The thick cheese slice is $2.99+tax and the Grandma's square cheese slice is $3.99+tax. I also had a garlic roll for $1, which was also good; it comes with a side or marinara sauce. They have a fountain self-service soda station featuring Boylon bottling sodas that advertise real cane sugar. I did not try it since I was not familiar with Boylon, but perhaps it is good. The service is very friendly and the food comes out quickly. The location is really good - it is across from the Rosslyn metro station, about a block away. The only issues I have with Wiseguy is that I had trouble opening the restroom door - you have to turn the knob up. I think they should add a sign to indicate this, as I observed others also having issues with opening the door...but perhaps this is by design to discourage restroom use except by those who really need to go? Also, the dining area is very, very small...just one dining table and a long bar style table with stools along the window, and some outdoor dining tables. I highly recommend Wiseguy Pizza if you like good New York style pizza and want some quick slices. read more

Bottom line up front - Not the best I've ever had, but definitely an ok spot to grab a slice of za. A friend and I grabbed a couple slices and garlic knots from Wiseguy recently. We each had a piece of the mushroom truffle and chicken paneer masala. From a flavor standpoint, the chicken masala pizza was really quite good - bold flavors that really stood out. The mushroom pizza was more subtle, but still good. Not very many mushrooms, but that was ok. Garlic knots were a fun add, but definitely didn't stand out as a must-get for future visits. Prices weren't terrible, but maybe a little on the high-end. About $4 for each slice, if I remember correctly. To be fair, they were large slices... I like thin crust pizzas, and these were definitely that. But I thought the crust was pretty blah and kind of cardboard-esque. Didn't really add much to the pizza itself other than serving as a base for the cheese and toppings. Maybe that's the point, but I do very much love carbs and pizza crust - even the thin kind - should still be tasty. Would I go back? Sure. The heavens opened, the lights dimmed, and the angels sung glorious hymns of hope as Wiseguy Pizza had finally opened up their second location in Rosslyn. What was once a barren landscape of lunch possibility still remains as such, but there is now an oasis of deliciousness for all souls to go and get their fill of what is one of the best slices in the area. Now, I know, you've been through it all before. So many places and so many promises of a New York slice, but Wiseguy actually pulls it off. Their slices are thin and crispy, and the cheese is appropriately proportionate to the slice itself (not too much, not too little, juuuuuuuuust right). My personal favorite is their Buffalo Chicken pizza slice, with a bleu cheese sauced drizzled on making it a sinus clearing yet tasty delight. Their slices are also nicely priced, at 2.99 for a slice of cheese or 3.99 for a specialty slice. I went today, the third day of their soft opening with a limited menu, and there was a line at 11am. I stood and waited in the rain for a few minutes and I was rewarded for my efforts with swift service. While the line was a bit long, it went quick and the army of Wiseguy employees behind the counter were quick and efficient in taking care of everyone. Pretty impressive for only opening up this week. There was a few of us and after doing a lot of walking and burning some calories everyone was in need of food and the one thing you can always count on people agreeing on is Pizza. Now I will admit I have never been to NY and had the authentic NY style but from what I know this fit the bill. The crust had a great chew to it and was thin and crisp but at the same time it was strong enough to fold in half and eat like a sandwich without everything falling out. I feel like I start many reviews off with, "it's hard to mess up (insert food here)" because in truth, I rarely eat anything outside of the norm. I'm your typical pizza/burger/pancake type of guy. Real salt of the earth...Ron Swanson-esque if you will. With that being said, it's really hard to mess up pizza. Thankfully Wiseguy did not. Having traveled and working a long day I checked into my hotel in Arlington and ordered a take out pizza. The pie arrived in a slid off pile of toppings like it was dropped or just miss handled. Now that's not Wiseguy's fault it the crappy outside deliver service that is to blame. Now there is more to the mishandling since all in this delivered disaster was $39 bucks. I called Wiseguy's and the English challenged manager totally misunderstood mi dilemma. I made absolutely certain he knew who I was and he agreed to send a replacement pizza. The second never arrived in fact I ordered a couple Cokes and agreed to pay for them although the manager never offered a drink for free anyway. So I got more money ready because I expected a different driver. no new pizza near.y an hour waited and I'm eating cold messed up food for dinner. That kind of money could have gotten me a nice steak or a full blown Chinese feast. On a brighter note the cold screwed up pie had good crust and ample toppings so I couldn't completely trash Wiseguy's with under 3 stars. Pizza was tasty; I had pepperoni and buffalo chicken. My husband has the supreme.
