Loved the new downtown taproom! The space is HUGE! Tons of room inside and outside to hang out. They had tables inside and picnic tables outside for seating. Garage doors on taproom also open up. Good place to bring your dogs or your kids to run around. Plenty of parking in the lot behind the taproom as well. Staff was friendly and good with recommendations on their beers. I tried the new Jean DeLis which was an ice pick lager with lemon tea in it. Similar to tiny bomb, but with a taste of tea - really interesting new flavor. They also have Little Bettie pizza and snack bar set up. One pizza was good to split between two if you are hungry. We got the Whoa, It's Todd which had calabrese, mushrooms, and roasted garlic. Your car will prob get broken into here!!!! Didn't get to try the food because 15 min after arriving my car, along with 4 other cars we broken into. The staff was sympathetic, one of the cooks car was also broken into (second time this has happened in the parking lot) so I know they feel the pain. This wasn't the first mass break in though. it happens almost regularly. Don't know about you but I think that the owners would want to protect not only their costumers but also their staff by hiring a parking lot guard. Unfortunately no samples here. You end up with a beer you may not like. The beer is middle of the road at best. 2 out of the 3 servers were purposely rude. If the beer was great it would be worth the ruse staff but it is not. The hazy's aren't hazy and lean on hops. The coffee pale ale is miserable. The sours are certainly sour but very thin on flavor more like a club soda sour. Can't say we'll be back. read more

I was there for a friend's celebration and brought my large dog. The staff was entirely fine with the smaller dogs who were entirely inside the building (some even unleashed) but were extremely rude to me when my dog and I were sitting on the inside-outside awning area- my dog was laying on the floor and sleeping. One woman who worked there ultimately said I needed to chug my beer if I wanted to finish it and forced me out. Some of my friends believe that this was racial targeting- it very well could have been. I highly recommend visiting any of the other wonderful breweries in Memphis where all people are treated with respect. read more

Now I'm not a beer person but the pizza more than made up for that. We went as a group of 5 before the Grizzlies game. We ordered the wings, the Beefy Bettie and the Cosmic Trigger Pizza. To be honest the wings are the reason for 4 stars not 5. The wings the sauce was so yummy however our whole group felt like the needed to be cooked just one minute longer. The pizzas were great and if I had to pick a favorite it's the Cosmic Trigger hands down. This spot is the perfect place to go to pre or post Grizzlies game. The space is quite large plenty of room to social distance. There are also murals on the outside of the building if you're into that kind of thing. Now if beer is your thing there are a wall full of options on tap. Our beer drinkers in our group enjoyed their beers and got more than one. They do offer like 3 cocktail options as well. read more

Been to Wiseacre downtown sometime ago. They didn't have much of a menu then us except a few snacky foods which we enjoyed. Went again recently to try Little Betty Pizza, the creation of my favorite local chefs, Andrew Ticer & Michael Hudman. We had the Skinny Chicago. Andrew & Michael would be mortified if they saw & tasted this pizza. It was horrible. Burnt -not the expected brick oven burn but overcooked burnt. Was almost no cheese. Could see specks of sausage but couldn't taste any. Worst thing was the spinach. I promise you, it was defrosted frozen chopped spinach thrown in clumps on the pizza. I was gross. I tried one piece & that soggy raw spinach taste stayed with me for days. Also tried the Kimchee Hushpuppies. Expected them to be unusual but they were just bad. I'm thinking: who made this recipe & thought it was good? Maybe the cook or chef or whoever was in the kitchen was having a bad night but I don't believe we'll be returning. I didn't have my debit card. They don't accept cash which is odd. There's no way to pay with your phone either. No explanation from staff. However, Bartenders will accept cash tips. I can understand not accepting Apple Pay. I imagine the transaction fees are high for vendors accepting phone-type payments. I can understand "cash only" businesses who don't want transaction fees. I don't understand why this business wants my debit card so much. If you slide your card here, be sure to check your bank account. IMHO It's suspicious when a business won't take cash. read more

This was our 3rd brewery of the brewery trail and we were disappointed. They didn't offer free samples or even flights so there was no way to decide what to order. The bartender was pretty short with us which was a shock after visiting other breweries where we were welcomed with open arms. One of the two beers I tried was okay but this trip definitely changed how I saw their brewery and brand. We love Wiseacre beer, have for long time. I'm glad they have a big spot downtown. The food is good. However, it feels generic. It's big which is great for a group looking for a party/get together but not really for us. This does not feel like a microbrewery. It feels like if a national conglomerate opened a chain and tried to make it feel local. There are many other nearby, smaller microbreweries who have similarly large structures that feel more authentic. Also, this doesn't affect my star rating but one of the three bartenders didn't wear a mask even when masked customers came to the bar. This annoyed me. People have a right to do what they want. But if someone ordering a beer is wearing a mask (which 90% were) maybe have some respect and wear one too. The person who delivered our food, the two other bartenders and almost all of the patrons (when walking around or ordering) were considerate enough to wear them. This will seem antiquated when less people are getting sick but this was annoying to me. read more

They are not accommodating if you have food allergies. My friend has Celiac Disease and can't eat or drink anything that contains gluten. Knowing that she could not eat anything on the menu (she checked online beforehand and nothing was labeled as gluten free), she brought her own salad and purchased a seltzer. The rest of the table purchased beers and two pizzas from the kitchen. The woman that works primarily in the kitchen and delivers food to tables was incredibly rude. She came up to our table to "adjust the table numbers" and aggressively told my friend that outside food was not allowed since they have a kitchen. Even when we explained the situation, she had no grace. If her delivery of information were kinder, it would've been a different situation, but her behavior was unnecessary. I have been to Wiseacre several times, and this was my first bad experience. However, I will not purchase food from their kitchen in the future because of this experience. read more
