My partner and I reached out to Cassie at Wise Tails to get some help for our 3 year-old husky mix, Jeff. We adopted Jeff when he was just under 2 and he quickly demonstrated that he had some serious dog reactivity and leash aggression. He would pull so hard on walks that only my partner could walk him, and his hand would be sore after from gripping the leash so tight. Jeff would also growl and lunge at every dog we crossed paths with, creating a huge scene and making him really hard to control. As my partner and I prepared for the arrival of our first baby, we knew it was time to take Jeff's issues more seriously. We looked into some better known training centers, but none seemed like the right fit. All of them also involved the dog staying in a kennel outside among a bunch of other dogs, and we didn't want our guy to to think he was back in a shelter. An acquaintance referred me to Cassie and I was impressed by her prompt and thorough response to my message. She gave me a professional understanding of what might be going on with Jeff and how she might be able to help. After Cassie did a home visit to meet Jeff and explain her methodology, we ended up choosing a 2-week board in option. Throughout his stay, Cassie sent us videos of Jeff doing things we never thought possible: staying on "place" while delicious treats were thrown all around him, walking peacefully alongside other dogs, and coming when called. At the end of his stay, Cassie returned to us a happier, better behaved dog--and it was clear that Cassie grew to really love having him around, too. We can now walk him without him pulling. He can see other leashed dogs and either ignore them or listen when we tell him to stop. He can heel. Jeff really seems to enjoy having some structure to his walks and the satisfaction of praise. While Jeff still reacts to loose dogs in our neighborhood that approach him (who wouldn't?!), we feel more confident in our ability to control those situations when they arise and are thrilled that he can now coexist with other leashed without acting out the aggression he had before. Cassie is an extremely professional, responsive, and talented trainer and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Wise Tails to anyone. read more

I can't recommend Wise Tails enough! Before finding them, I'd already spent a lot of time (and money) trying different training approaches without the results I was hoping for for my 3 year old dog Sweet Potato, so I was honestly pretty hesitant to invest in training again. I researched for hours, talked with multiple trainers, and ultimately chose Wise Tails because of how knowledgeable, thoughtful, and genuine Cassie and Plennie were from our very first conversation. They took the time to understand my dog, my concerns, and helped me figure out what would actually be the best fit. One of my biggest goals was stopping my dog's jumping. After not seeing her for five weeks during training, I was fully expecting our reunion to be chaos. Instead, she stayed in her place and didnt jump at all. I genuinely couldn't believe it. It was one of those moments where you realize the training really works. I was also very nervous about using an e-collar. I had a lot of preconceived ideas and wanted to make sure I was doing right by my dog. Cassie and Plennie were incredibly patient, answered every question I had, and made sure I understood exactly how and why it was being used. They never made me feel pressured--they built my confidence every step of the way, and I now feel completely comfortable using it appropriately. Beyond the training itself, they're just wonderful people. I happened to do this while recovering from surgery, and they were incredibly understanding and flexible whenever I needed accommodations with scheduling and pickup. That kindness meant a lot during a stressful time. It's obvious how much they care, not just about training dogs, but about setting owners up for long-term success and doing things the right way. I'm so grateful I trusted them with my dog, and I'd recommend Wise Tails to anyone looking for trainers who are knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly invested in both you and your dog. read more

Working with Cassie at Wise Tails Academy changed our household vibe in a major way! We got our first English lab boy when he was 8 weeks old and as he grew felt he needed a friend so we added another one to the mix and it got crazy at our house! They totally melded and absolutely loved one another to the extent that their pack mentality ruled all. We had zero control over them. Walking them was a mess. We'd take them to doggie daycare and they were so crazy they weren't allowed to play with any other dogs. We were really feeling like we made a mistake in adding another pup to the mix until we found Cassie. We sent the boys to her for her 5 week program. She ended up working with them for 6 weeks and now all I can say is WOW!!! These boys are incredible! They walk off leash amazingly. They respond to sit, down, place and come incredibly well. They can go swimming and be off leash and recalled easily. Both their quality of life and ours improved immensely after their training. They still have their quirky ways but we all now have a common way to communicate. Life is much more peaceful in our home and we can take them places. We even get compliments on how well behaved they are for labs. Know that Cassie and team will do the hard work of getting your dog trained up and then you need to keep up with it. It's crazy easy to do and Cassie gives you tips and tricks to get it done. Follow what she tells you and you will continue to have a well behaved dog. We can't thank Cassie enough for the time and energy she put into our boys! We also utilize her boarding and daycare program. Our boys love going to stay with her and we feel good knowing they are well cared for and getting to interact with other well trained dogs. read more

As a repeat client, I cannot say enough great things about Wise Tails. I first contacted Cassie after she came highly recommended for board and train programs. I had a rescue puppy and I desperately needed help with crate training and potty training. We set him up for the puppy program. The process to enroll him was smooth. I appreciated that Cassie took the time to email extensive information ahead of time so we knew exactly what we were getting ourselves into. Upon picking him up after his 2 week program, we stayed at her home and received a thorough lesson on all that our puppy was working on. He came home fully crate trained - yay, we got to sleep! We ended up sending our dog back when he was a bit older for the full 4 week board and train as we needed him to learn more manners before welcoming a new baby! He was barking at everything, not listening to any commands, and a pain to walk on leash. Cassie was able to address all of these concerns in her training practices. After the 4 weeks, our dog came home a totally new dog. We have been diligent about keeping up with the training sessions at home, something that Cassie fully prepared us for. We loved the weekly communications and updates from Cassie where we heard snippets of his progress. The best thing about Cassie is that you are guaranteed results with your dog. She takes on the toughest of dogs and knows how to make an impact. As long as you follow her rules and guidance, you are sure to reap the benefits of a well trained dog, and all will be happier - dog included! read more

Once upon a time my husband changed Tuckers name to one that starts with an F... Because that's just what he was. We were so DONE! The disobedience, running away, jumping over fences, barking at every single shadow that came across the door... He broke 2 of my ribs on a "casual walk" and we were probably moments away from a major injury to our almost 2 yesr old. So fast forward 5 weeks... My husband is convinced Cassie gave us someone else dog. Tucker is transformed!! He found Jesus, well... He found Wise Tails Academy. Day 1 home from training we went on out first walk (off leash, yep!!!!) and he gave chase to 7 deer on the golf course. Ohhhh crap, I thought! So I mustered up my stern voice and yelled "TUCKER!!!! COME!!!!" and he about somersaulted from stopping so fast. He turned around, made eye contact, and ran right back to me in a Sit position waiting for his next command. Mic. DROP! We are so excited for this new way to communicate with him and practice all he's learned from Dylan and Cassie over the last 5 weeks. Oh, and Wise Tails- if by any chance you realize you sent us home with the wrong dog, too bad! This one's perfect!!! So- seriously, Houston friends, Austin friends, Louisianna friends (Cassie takes dogs from all over the world!!!)Wise Tails Academy is THE PLACE TO GO!!! read more

I wish I would give Cassie 10 stars!!! From the consultation phone call to the drop off and pick up was absolutely wonderful! She gave us updates on Theo while he was there with her for two weeks and really took the time to bond with him before the training and he felt so comfortable with her. Before Cassie he would listen when it was convenient, now he is such a good listener and an all-around fantastic dog. Her tips she gave to us during a lesson when we picked him up were so helpful as well! If you cant do the board and train I would highly recommend the private training sessions as well. Everything she does is so thought out for each specific dog and just a fantastic experience all around. I think I called over 7 places in the Austin area and she was the one I felt like took the most time to learn about Theo and his home situation and personality to tailor a program to his needs. I can't say enough good things about Cassie and if you need any help training your dog she is the one to call hands down. It was worth every penny. read more

I adopted a puppy in April 2019, and had never trained a puppy before. After a few days of struggling with house breaking, crate training, chewing, leash walking, barking... I needed help! I started researching dog trainers and found Cassie's Wise Tails Academy. I decided to do the 4 week board and train that summer once Otis was 5 months old. It was the best decision I made with bringing a new puppy into my life! He came home as a well behaved and obedient puppy. He had learned all the basics and even very impressive commands such as "place" on his dog cot. It's been 8 months and he still remembers the commands well. The 4 week board and train also gave Otis the positive social interaction with other dogs, and I believe is why he plays so well with other dogs now and is a little social butterfly. We've done some weekend stays for refreshers, which I love having the option of getting Otis continued training and he always comes home as a happy pup. I'm so grateful to have found Wise Tails and would highly recommend to anyone! read more

Cassie has done wonders for my dogs. My youngest sheepadoodle just left her 4-week training program. She has come back home more calm than ever. She had issues with impulse control and guarding. Cassie has taught her and me the proper skills to ensure that we will not run into any problems and that these traits can be trained and corrected. I feel so lucky to have found Cassie for my dogs. Our take-home evaluation was incredibly helpful. I brought my family along, as well, so they could learn with me. She was so accommodating and taught us in-depth the how and why behind all of the skills she taught my puppy. I HIGHLY recommend her! Cassie is very honest and gives nothing but heart and compassion when it comes to training. She is so passionate about dogs, making sure that they are comfortable with their surroundings and the outside world. She helped me become confident and knowledgeable in training both of my dogs, that I know now, I can be calm but assertive if need be. read more

Do yourself a favor and take your dog to Cassie immediately!!! She is a true dog whisperer. We got a golden retriever puppy, Stella, and were having so much trouble with her jumping and biting and nothing we tried worked. We couldn't figure out how to communicate with her in a way that she would respond to. We saw multiple different trainers that also couldn't get Stella to respond to them. I found Cassie and Stella went to stay with her for four weeks. She is a different dog!!!! She has a strong foundation of what is expected of her and responds immediately. My boyfriend and I now know how to communicate with Stella in a healthy, safe way that she actually understands! Cassie is so knowledgable about safe training techniques and understands that all dogs are different and therefore need different approaches to their training. Cassie trained us as much as she trained Stella and we are so grateful for her. I can't recommend Wise Tails Academy enough! read more

So thrilled with our experience with Cassie! She is incredibly knowledgable and clearly loves helping dogs and their owners. After struggling with our golden retriever, our vet suggested that we call Cassie. She listened carefully and responded thoughtfully, and we enrolled him in her 4 week board and train. We are so happy to report that he came back a very different dog! We are absolutely amazed at how much she taught him, and so grateful for the time that she spent making sure that we know how to continue the training at home. Cassie was so organized throughout the process, addressing every concern that we had, answering every question, and taking such good care of our dog. Our whole family is already able to better enjoy having our dog in the family, and we are so excited to continue to apply what we have learned from Cassie! We highly recommend Wise Tails Academy! read more

Let me start by saying what a pleasure it is to work with Cassie at Wise Tails--very courteous, very responsive, very professional. We have nothing but positive comments and a huge thank you for Cassie and her training. Our granddaughter had gifted us a four-month-old puppy who was very excitable. In a short time, Cassie had him trained to come, sit, heel, stay, and down. As well, he now accompanies us on walks--no pulling, no barking at other dogs, etc. He will return to his bed on command, and if he is distracted by something in the backyard, he will "leave it" on command. In short. We now have a lovely dog, and the training was well worth the money. Can't say enough positive about Cassie and what a great experience this was. read more

We had a great experience working with Wise Tails! Remi was extremely cautious around new things and was hard to get her attention once she was scared. Wise Tails has made it so both Remi and I feel comfortable when we are out and about. Remi ended up staying for the four week training program because she was a bit slow to open up! I am so thankfully we stayed those extra two weeks because Remi truly is a different dog. After training, Remi and I both have a better understanding of how each other communicates. Remi has learned to walk better on and off the leash, listen to commands- sit, stay and place and avoid distractions instead of getting scared! We are so thankful for the work Wise Tails did with Remi! read more

It's been over 3 years ago that our Kerry Blue Terrier (Merlin) trained with Wise Tails and I kept up with all the commands (super easy to do!). Merlin is in general anxious because he was a Covid puppy and we were alwaysssss with him. But learning his place and being able to sit/stay has helped him so much. He doesn't even really bark anymore. The biggest thing I wanted was a dog that would walk well on a leash and not be distracted and he's still so good at that. Anytime we do a weekend away we still board with Cassie and we know he's in a good place. I think he's one of the harder breeds to teach obedience (we had an Aussie and a Rhodesian before) but somehow she did it! Forever grateful read more

Where do I begin?! Before bringing our miniature dachshund home I knew he would be attending Wisetails after interacting with plenty of pets who have completed their program. Miller recently completed their puppy program and I cannot speak highly enough of the dedication and passion this crew has! From the drop off, updates and pick up lesson, I was extremely impressed. My husband and I were a bit shy but Plennie encouraged us to perform some of the training in-front of them. It made a huge difference and prepared us to continue his training at home and in public! Miller can't wait to come back and complete their board and train! High Paws all around read more

Oh my gosh Wise Tails Academy was wonderful for our pup! And Cassie was amazing with her & so patient which we appreciated. She cared for our Kangaroo like her own. Our pup has neurological issues and very impulsive movements and behavior at times with TONS of energy. Cassie was able to reign that in and have her start responding to her name as well as basic commands as well as safely supervising her socialization period. Not to mention, she is just so knowledgeable, thorough and so passionate about her work. Without her our pup would be a terror and we are just so happy we found Wise Tails Academy! Y'all were lifesavers Thank you, thank you! read more

"We are overjoyed with Cowboy's experience at Wise Tails Academy! Our pup came back home incredibly happy and well-behaved. Cassie and her exceptional team deserve all the credit for their phenomenal training job. Thanks to their efforts, Cowboy now enjoys a better quality of life and is ready to join us on all our family adventures. Despite missing him during his time at Wise Tails, the investment was 100% worth it. The updates they provided and the 3-hour training session with our whole family showcased their dedication to ensuring we knew how to continue his training. We can't recommend Wise Tails Academy enough for their outstanding work!" read more

I can't even begin to say how happy and pleased I am with Percy's experience at Wise Tails Academy. We had started out buying a home lesson package, but quickly realized both Percy and I needed some more intensive training. We opted for the 2 week board and train. When I went to pick him up, his behavior made me think he was a different dog! I was shocked over how far he had come in such a short time. When we got settled home and back in our routine, he was back to his normal silly self. I'm so excited for his future and for him to enjoy his life as an obedient dog. read more

We were referred to Wise Tails from a previous dog trainer that we loved that moved out of state. We rescued a very anxious dog with lots of puppy/high energy behaviors. With a 3 yr old son at home, we knew we needed to get help. Cassie and team have been AMAZING. they trained chili (and us!) on the do's and don'ts and it really has been a game changer. We already referred our friends' 2 dogs to her and they did just as great. We can't speak highly enough of Wise Tails. they stay in touch, know each dog they have worked with, and have hearts of gold. read more
