i don't recommend this place at all. i waited an hour to be seen and taken to the back. the assistant was super nice and offered me a blanket hence the three stars. the dr has a nice personality, but is super rough and doesn't wait for the numbing cream to numb you and just gives you the shots which hurt so bad. however i didn't feel anything else the whole procedure just some pressure. the reason i'm writing this is not because of my surgery it's because of after. i was told my prescription would be sent to my pharmacy and when the numbing started to go away i called and they told me it was never sent over. i called wisdom teeth away and they told me to give them an hour and it would be ready. it was an hour and i called again and it was not ready. so i went to wisdom teeth away and spoke to the front assistants and told them i had been waiting five hours for my prescription, mind you the numbing goes away after 2, so im in pain. the girls were nice and understanding, but the man that was sending my prescription got defensive and argued that he was already sending them, well if they were sent i wouldn't be at the building. it was very rude and unprofessional, no care for patients pain after surgery, and he still had multiple people waiting on their prescription. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would... I made my first appointment 3 months ahead for a consultation, and they said there's a chance they can do the wisdom teeth extraction that same day. I used PTO from work incase they did so I could recover since I needed all 4 removed. I waited 1 hour after my scheduled appointment just for them to do a 5 minute X-ray. I was told I was supposed to pay $735 for a required CT scan and bone graft that my insurance didn't cover which I had no problem doing. They also scheduled my extraction for the following week. I requested PTO again so that I could recover. My second appointment was at 2:15pm. They did a quick 5 minute CT scan. I waited until 3:45pm when it was finally time for the extraction, the doctor said he will only have time to remove 2 of them. He said he will remove the other 2 sometime next week since one of them is harder to remove and they are about to close. This just extends my recovery time. I just decided to not get them removed since I cant keep using PTO for this. They made me wait almost 1.5 hours after my scheduled time just for them not to have enough time for them to do the extraction. They simply overbook themselves. I got a full refund. This was a complete waste of time and PTO. I scheduled my appointment in January just to NOT get my wisdom teeth removed in May. Don't waste your time here. read more

I have autism and extreme anxiety, and I was getting 4 teeth pulled so I was NOT having a good time. The girl really calmed me, she knew exactly what to do/say and I appreciate her so much. I've been here twice. Once for the consultation and again for the procedure. I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed. One was lying horizontally. The stuff was friendly and inviting. The doctor was amazing! He was so polite and friendly. Numbing went smoothly on top. My bottom teeth needed a little extra. I just had to raise my left hand during the procedure to get more. Worst wisdom tooth extraction ever. Doctor wouldn't extract my teeth before paying $1200 to begin, both doctors come in and one begins injecting me to get numb and doesn't stop to ask if I'm okay, he's just injecting as if I have no feeling? Starts to take out my teeth ( I got 4 removed) was super rough and at one point grabbed my face hard and smashed it because my bottom right tooth was stuck. The amount of pressure I had experienced and not once did the doctor stop to offer me a break. They then took 5 hours to finally send over my medicine and when I was calling after the two hours the tech had told me they of course didn't answer their phones, and still to this day have not returned any of my class. I was very pleasantly surprised with this entire experience as I had no idea what it would entail. The office is clean and well kept, the decor and design is attractive and modern, considering most offices of any kind(especially dental) tend to be sterile and cold. My dentist put in a referral for a consultation. They booked me a couple weeks out which is nice and not a long wait. I had the consultation on time and scheduled the procedure for about a month out. They are quite a busy office and offered to do the removal that same day but it was Christmas season and I had to schedule out. My final appointment was kept on time as well which I very much appreciate since I have a busy schedule! Yes, they do local anesthesia not general, so if you're squeamish then you'll need to go somewhere else if you can. But I didn't mind it, the assistant and Dr Alzate were fast, professional, and completely personable. They answered any and all questions, accommodated my preferences, and I was in and out in about 35 minutes. I've got a good pain threshold so the Tylenol Rx is enough for me. Narco isnt necessary but if you think it's a default Rx you deserve...again: Find another doctor. I've already recommended him to any one who's asked. Thank you Dr Alzate! read more

Don't bother! I waited 3 weeks for this appointment took time off work to not even be seen! My appointment was at 4. It was 4:45 when I walked out due to them not calling me back ! Once I got there I was walking to the front desk when the receptionist called someone and instead of telling me she'll be right with me she talked threw me to the other lady until I decided to move ! Then when I went up to the desk everyone started at me until someone said "do you need something" then when i said to cancel my appointment she didn't bother to say "what's your name or Let me check the wait time" all I got was a oh okay. I initially went in for an extraction, not knowing what to expect. I got there and waited for about two hours without ever being called back into a room. The place was jam-packed with barely any seats available. If you went to the bathroom, you'd lose your seat. Once my name was called, I got an x-ray and was asked to go and wait yet again. 30 minutes later, I'm finally called into a room. The dental assistant is a bit hesitant to answer any of my questions pertaining to the procedure. The Dr. walked in and instantly began to tabulate additional fees for extra procedures I did not feel I needed. I was referred there for standard tooth extraction. I somehow got denied the extraction for the only reason that I did not want the additional $600 dollars in extra dental work they attempted to sell me. It was a complete waste of time and effort to have ever stepped foot in that dental office. My day was ruined as I drove some distance just to be seen and turned away. All for the simple fact that I didn't want to purchase unnecessary dental work. My experience there was by far the worst I had ever had in any dental office setting ever! I will never go there again, nor do I recommend Wisdom Teeth Away to anyone ever! A complete shakedown is what it felt like, and I felt a bit disgusted afterward. It seemed as if they wanted to see how much more money they could squeeze out of the already struggling patients, being it's mainly a Medi-Cal and / or Alliance accepted dental office. I've had about as great of an experience as one can have getting their teeth pulled out with Wisdom Teeth Away and Dr. Juan. I was very nervous going into the procedure, but it went quick and he numbed me up so well that I felt no pain at all (including impacted teeth, stitches, etc.) He's very friendly and reassuring before during and after the procedure. They send you home with aftercare instructions, extra gauze (you will be bleeding) and antibiotics/pain meds. His office even saw me as a walk-in 4 days later because I was having pain and did x-rays/exam with Dr. Juan in under an hour. Please if you got a referral, PLEASE ask for a different surgical dental care. If only I had listened to intuition, I would have had a better experience else where. Lets start off with the front desk & staff. It was just a typical normal in & out. Very professional. Filled out the forms & I went right in. Very quick so it was good! I got a referral from my original dentist since some dentist aren't allowed to do surgery. I got very anxious after hearing the word surgery so I had to look up the reviews for this place. I am extremely disappointed about my experience. Dr. just shoved the needles (about 4 times) in my mouth without the numbness. It made my body shiver for about 5 minutes until I finally cooled down. I wasn't numbed all the way. Not even half. I felt everything & it was quite painful. I felt the drilling, the aching, the breaking, the pulling, the pressure, my body started shaking again because I was completely scared now. The girl beside me to my right was crying & kept saying it hurt & that she was in extreme pain but they wouldn't stop so that really put me on edge. After he had gotten done from pulling out my wisdom teeth, he went straight to the next patient & I had heard the old man beside me to my left screamed OUCH because he wasn't numbed & Dr. just started pulling. I just wanted to go home at that point. This place just scared me. HOWEVER, the assistant who was assisting Dr. was nice. She reassured me I'll be okay & constantly ask if I was okay. I prefer a dentistry who is friendly but also professional while also creating a positive environment! My original dentist has that so I had thought their recommended referral would have been the same. Sadly it wasn't. It was quick in & out. 15 minutes max in my experience. read more

The care they give you when you are coming in is not the care you get post-op. Dr. A puts shots in my mouth and does not even wait 2 mins when he starts to pull.. I could feel it and I told him, he responds with you will feel pressure.. I told him, no, please stop this is pain I feel and it is not completely numb. He goes in and gives more shots... Extracting the 2 teeth. They give you Tylenol 3... Once the numbing wears off, get ready for a world of pain that Tylenol 3 does not help. I called the office to tell them I need something stronger, they told me that if I needed stronger medicine I needed to come in and speak with the dr. I ended up driving there, to be told they cannot give me nothing. I'm in so much pain, I would never refer anybody to this place. read more

The staff were good but the dentist I had didn't speak english. I've had extractions done elsewhere but this was barbaric. I was in a lot of pain going in and this guy jammed the Novocain needle into the roof of my mouth like he was in a hurry. That hurt like crazy but nothing like when he broke my tooth into pieces. dentist juan j alzate was the worst unprofessional dentist ive ever been seen by. from the start they called me asking if id like to come in early since i was the dentist last paitent they wanted to hurry up and squeeze me in early so they could leave early i told them i couldnt because of my ride so they told me okay no worries will see you at your appointment time. when i got there the dentist seemed to be in a rush i had an impacted wisdom tooth and was even told by them that it would be a complicated procedure. i was in horrible pain so i started to cry he literally stopped mid extraction shut my mouth and told me we could reschedule if i didnt stop crying like are you serious????????? then i hear oh juan (dentist) your foods here and then he just started going for it just trying to finish quickly he pulled my tooth at the ened and said were all done. my bottom jaw and lip are still asleep he messed up my nerves from jaw. no compassion no sympathy i was literally just extra money being squeezed in for the dayi will report this p.o.s dentist !!!!!!!!!! read more
