Then he got a demonstrated short attitude by slamming tools on the table when he had trouble numbing the tooth to be extracted. After being in the chair for two hours to extract a tooth he recaps his frustrating ordeal to his assistant right in front of me instead of waiting for me to leave. Reception Area: The clinic looks clean and welcoming. Lisa was personable and friendly. Communications: We had communication issue with the other staff members. I spoke with Diana and followed up with an email. After 5 emails and 3 telephone calls, I finally received a call from Lisa regarding instructions. Now, seeing a dentist by itself can be very stressful, but going in to get 2 wisdom teeth extracted is certainly frightening and unbearable. Given the circumstances, I would think a professional office would set our minds at rest by communicating our fears and concerns with us. Instead, they chose to ignore our concerns. I find this quite disturbing. Insurance: I asked that they check with our insurance company to see what would be covered. I was informed that they couldn't do that until the day of the appointment. Horrible customer service and billing !…read more My wife needed to have her wisdom teeth pulled. Their billing department first tried to tell us that our dental insurance was tied to our medical insurance. We told them that isn't true. They told us they had just spoken to our dental insurance. My wife then called our dental insurance and they informed us that wasn't true. My called the billing department back and they told her what our insurance said and they told my wife they didn't believe her. They finally called our dental insurance back and confirmed. Then on the day of surgery when my wife gets there, they inform her the procedure is $685 but that the insurance might not cover it and it might be $16000. My wife asked "Didn't get you a pre-authorization when you spoke to our insurance?" They said no and that they were going to try to bill our medical insurance first and if they didn't pay, then they would try our dental insurance. We told them we were not going to do the procedure with them unless they had a pre-authorization for insurance, they refused. They said it could take days or weeks to get the pre-authorization. We had scheduled this appointment over a month ago. Horrible, lazy and shady business practice on their part. A patient should not be going into to surgery without knowing if their insurance is going to cover the procedure and the total out-of-pocket cost. They should have gotten the pre-authorization weeks ago and if they needed us to do anything on our end, we should have been informed when we made the appointment. Needless to say, my wife walked out and she will not be having her procedure done with them.

I knew they didn't take my insurance, but after my consultation with Dr. Fimbres, I was willing to pay out of pocket to have him perform the work on me. He is honest and actually saved me money. At my "regular" dental office, I was told I needed something would cost me $600 (with insurance). With Dr. Fimbres, he explained to me why that procedure would be inappropriate with my condition and that he was not going to do it on me. At the end, I also ended up paying a few hundred less than what I was quoted because the tooth came right out. He and his staff still could have easily charged me at what I was quoted at, and I wouldn't know the difference, but they didn't. Yes, I recommend him!
