There is quite a bit of traffic but you are never standing around frustrated at all. The store is clean, and presentable. The outside is clean and respectable with plenty of parking. There is a good variety of items, everything from food, snack, drinks, beer, tobacco products, fresh coffee for $1 and misc items like snow shovels, hand warmers, etc. Moving here from California it was nice to find a store locally that provided this high level of customer service. There are plenty of store in the area, some even closer but I always find my way to Thapa Convenience Store instead. There are rare occurrences when paying cash out of pocket really feels worth it, or like it is going to people who actually deserve it. Consider this, if the store wasn't awesome would I have wrote this long review about a convenience store. Shop Thapa and you won't regret it!

A perfect treat for a cold, winter day. So rich in flavor. I finished my meal with self service coffee. I had accumulated points by downloading their app taking $5 off my order. The app is great, you get coupons for discounts and the points add up quick. Definitely worth the space on your phone.

It's a Boston based radio and TV show that visits restaurants and food shacks across New England. It's a very fun show and I love their hosts (especially Leigh!). So we're watching a few weeks ago and they did a report on "some of the best barbecue we've had in a while". Now if that wasn't even to grab my attention, what they said next sure did -because this barbecue came from a gas station. Or rather a gas station/convenience store. There are 14 Alltown Fresh stations sprinkled across New England and four of them sell Barbecue. Once I discovered we didn't live too far from one, that sold barbecue (in Waterbury) I bookmarked it and we visited yesterday. It sure resembles a Cumberland Farms/Pride convenience store, but the distinguishing difference is they cook up fresh barbecue dishes to order. We got our barbecue fix with a big barbecue plate and a big barbecue bowl for around $20. They will give us four portions. My wife ordered a pulled pork plate that included bread and butter pickles, a big hunk of cornbread, and a choice of 2 sides from this selection - bbq baked beans, black bean salad, coleslaw, corn chow-chow, cucumber salad, mac n' cheese, macaroni salad, and potato salad. She went with slaw and mac and cheese and with my own eyes I saw their cook whipping up a fresh batch of mac and cheese in a saute pan behind the counter. I went with a BBQ Pork bowl with slow-cooked bbq pork, queso fresco, avocado, pico de gallo, and cilantro on a bed of shredded romaine lettuce and latin rice. The food was terrific and very reasonably priced at about ten bucks each. We had half of our orders for dinner last night and will finish them off tonight.

Check out was quick and with a real person, who was amiable and personable. It was a great experience, and I came away with great new and different products to try. Their garlic knots? Great with most dinners! The bagels tasted fresh and non-plastic, and the mass produced cheese wraps are perfection on taco night (but not to be found at my local Stop & Shop). Two things, though: one, the money goes to a local charity, and two, if you walk in and ask the attendants they will turn it on for free. We needed air in all our tires which took some time, and the attendants weren't bothered at all. Nice guys. A nice policy. They dispense Shell gas at a price equal to or maybe a penny or two lower than neighboring competitors. We're happy to return here.
