Just wanted to add an update - I usually come to Winxed see the amazing Angelina for brows (see my previous review if you're in need of a fantastic brow sculptor), but I decided to take the plunge for lash extensions this Halloween (I usually get false lashes applied on special occasions, but by the end of the night, they're always falling off, and I'm super clumsy with lash glue, so it's a lose-lose all around). Lash extensions seemed like the best bet - no gluey masses around my eyelid, and no worrying about my lashes falling off! I came in yesterday to see Themba for my extensions. She has an awesome personality - super sweet and funny. We reviewed what I wanted (something in between dramatic and natural, and curled, since my lashes are pin straight). The entire process takes a while (about an hour). But it's so worth it! Themba did the most amazing job - it looks like I was just blessed with super long, curly lashes. They don't look fake at all. I even got complimented by the nurses today at my doctor's office about my "gorgeous" lashes - they thought they were real! Of course I had to confess that Winxed is responsible for my pretty new peepers. They couldn't get over how "natural" they looked. My favorite eyelash lady recently moved to San Diego, and I was so desperate that I made the 4 hour roundtrip to get my lashes done. I'm a lashaholic. But I can't make that trek every time. Have been looking for someone as good here in LA, and have been to a ton of places. I've been the Goldilocks of eyelash extensions! I've tried Longmi Lashes (too expensive), someone who uses Novalash lashes (too fake), a place that puts a cluster of lashes on each lash (really full look, but too clumpy and heavy), and a place where too many lashes started falling out the first week. I'm Asian, and my nonexistent lashes are really weak and short. Not the easiest to work with. But Tey at Blink 360 is the only one that can almost match my favorite technician. I asked for natural but full, and Tey does an amazing job! No one can tell I have on extensions. She is so accommodating in terms of scheduling, and has late hours if you work during the day. I have been coming to Tay for years for my lashes. When she told me she now does microblading, and explained to me what that was, I was very excited to try it. I don't do anything to my brows except for waxing and plucking. I would trust no one else except Tay to microblade my brow. She was very sweet in making sure I was comfortable and even offered some headphones to me in case the sound weirded me out. I generally have a pretty low pain tolerance, but she has a great numbing gel so it felt fine. She sent me off with some vitamin E to ensure everything healed well and I have received so many compliments from her work. I don't know if it was luck, fate or the raving reviews across the internet that brought me to Winxed (formerly Blink 360), but I'm pretty sure it's all of the above... Well, that and the fact that my previous lash lady constantly overbooked herself and couldn't accommodate my appointment, but I'm so thankful for that inconvenience now because I didn't realize that the Novalash lashes that she was using were ripping out my natural lashes. Anyways, when I first called them in a pinch on Christmas Eve last year, I spoke to Tay and tried to initially book with her because of all her amazing reviews... not only was she incredibly friendly and genuine over the phone, but she did everything she could to accommodate my last minute desperate request because of the holidays. Although she was completely booked that day (understandably), she offered to squeeze me in with her sister, Themba, whom she assured me was just as good as her because she had trained her personally... well, she was right and I'm so glad she set me up with her because Themba is AMAZING and was able to get my skimpy lashes fuller than I ever had them before or imagined that they possibly could be. Also, the special lashes they use are so soft, light, and natural looking/feeling (unlike the wiry, too fake-looking Novalash) and they don't rip out my natural lashes AT ALL... In fact, they have actually grown back since I started going to them and I've also gotten more compliments than I ever have before. Tayna's prices are really competitive and straightforward, unlike all of those other salons that charge by the lash! I have been going to Blink 360 for almost six months now, and I have no complaints what so ever. Tayna does an amazing job every time. My lashes are always remarkably full and they seem to last a really long time too (about a month, sometimes longer). Ah, where do I begin. Love! Overall, super super recommended. I had microblading/microfeathering done on my eyebrows and I got some lash extensions done as well. So, what I loved most is that Tay really works with you. She looks at your face and your hair and has great recommendations. Super pro and after two visits, I really do trust her opinion. She is not pushy whatsoever. In fact, she is really rather lovely. Her and her sister's salon is super clean and there is an overall personable and inviting feeling that puts me at ease. Regarding the eyebrow microblading. -I only needed to fill in holes and Tay not only was super delicate with her work, but also flexed the price to reflect the change. I didn't ask for the price change at all. - the procedure took only about 40 minutes - it does hurt a little, but you get used to it and Tay put some numbing cream on to ease the experience. - Although this may not be regular, but all pain and the slight redness went completely away in under two hours. Also, I personally had not scabs or peeling. I was afraid of this because I have very sensitive skin and usual react to waxing, laser, electrolysis etc... - The initial result is a little darker than what you should expect to live with. - I was worried about color and Tay mixed to colors together to give me a little bit of a custom job, leaving me a happy camper. - Results: overall sweet freedom! No need to fill in eyebrows! This along with my fab, but natural lashes means I basically have no daily makeup routine. So, happy and grateful. Thanks Tay!! read more
