I tried out Junko's services because a mutual client (I'm a photographer) highly recommended her. She 100000% delivered and my relationship with lashes has been saved! LOL What I loved: Her salon is clean, cute and cozy. Before we started, Junko took some time to understand what I wanted and had recommendations based on my eye shape. She is so gentle half the time I didn't even know if she was actually doing anything! I fell into the deepest lash nap EVER. Did not feel any fumes at all. My eyes weren't red or irritated even after laying there for almost 2.5 hours. Usually other salons have told me I can't get my lashes wet for 24 hours but her method/glue dries within 5-6 hours. So convenient! My lashes are voluminous yet natural looking and feel SOOOO weightless. Junko herself is so sweet and personable. I felt like I was just hanging out with a friend. For the investment, it honestly was a lot for me - someone who has never been loyal to a beauty service like this - but after the whole experience I feel it was 100% worth it!!!!! My lashes lasted 4.5 weeks before I went back in for a fill. That's INSANE! I save time and money by going to Junko. I arrived on time but waited about 15 minutes to start. Around 10 minutes into the service, my technician left to finish two other clients while one lash still had the curling piece applied. I waited another 15 minutes before she returned. Later, she went on break and handed me off to a different technician to finish. The appointment took much longer than expected, and for $325 I expected a more attentive and seamless experience. Update: The owner's response unfortunately reinforced my concerns. My review described my experience as a client; it was not an invitation to argue that my experience didn't happen because I didn't complain at checkout. The receptionist was on the phone as I was leaving, and at that point I simply wanted to go home rather than make a scene. Feedback from paying clients won't always be positive. Part of running a business is being able to receive that feedback and use it to improve, rather than disputing every negative experience. After seeing the owner's response to my review and similar responses to other reviewers, I definitely would not recommend or return.

From the beginning of my appointment, I told the technician multiple times that my eyes were hurting because of the glue, the materials she was using, and the strip placed on my lower lash line--especially on my left eye--which was poking directly into my eye. I repeated this several times. She removed and reapplied the strip multiple times, yet the pain continued. My eyes were flinching and tearing uncontrollably because of how uncomfortable and painful it was. Instead of acknowledging the issue, she tried to blame me for "having lashes ruined." I wish Alena had listened more carefully and taken my concerns seriously. Her response was unprofessional and dismissive--and I later noticed another review describing a similar issue just the day before my appointment. When I finally opened my eyes, they were extremely red and burning, and the spot where the strip had pressed into my eye is still painful. I was left with a scratch under my left eye and an allergic reaction that has already been documented by a doctor. Despite causing me injury, they charged an outrageous amount. To make matters even worse, I later discovered they have video and audio recording equipment inside the premises without informing clients, which is a serious issue in a dual-consent state like California. Beware of this place. Protect yourself and avoid it at all costs.

Yuri was really sweet as soon as I walked in the door even when I was super apologetic for being 5 minutes late from LA traffic. I quickly filled out a form and Yuri asked me if I would prefer a more natural or more dramatic lift. I went with a more dramatic lift. As soon as she started working on my eyelashes I could tell she was really taking her time and giving her attention to each individual lash to make sure they were treated and lifted. I was so comfortable the whole time and she was incredibly gentle. She took her time and my eyes never felt uncomfortable or hurt during the process. An hour later I came out with lifted lashes that looked great and each lash really was really lifted, even the super hard ones to reach in the corners of my eyes! Yuri quickly explained the after care before I left so I knew I was in good hands. I had such a relaxing time and will definitely be back when it is time to get my lashes lifted again!
