Darcel and Cass were so sweet and understanding with her and went above and beyond to make our pup comfortable and at ease. They truly understand dog behaviors and work with each dog's personality to make the experience at Uncle Buggy's a positive one. The facility is well thought out and welcoming and spotlessly clean. The outside yard is safe and big and has fun things for dogs to do (i.e. a big dirt pile for those, like my girl, who like to dig). We will definitely return to Uncle Buggy's for future boarding, knowing our girl will be in caring and competent hands. Thank you Darcel and Cass!!

The place was very charming and the staff were so sweet. The breakfast was the best breakfast we've had anywhere before- it was our favorite part of every day (which is saying something in bar harbor). We also had to leave for home early in the morning on our last day and they prepped us breakfast sandwiches, fruit, and bars to go. Tea time was also an adorable touch in the afternoon- we would go sit in there and play cards. So relaxing and homey. We already want to go back!

The bathroom is rather small and two piece, so you have to wash your hands in the kitchen sink. Outside of that, the rooms were fine from a space consideration and there is a lot of nice outdoor space. You do have access to a grill so that's nice, just make sure to bring your own charcoal and firewood for the public fire pits that overlook the bay. There is no A/C but they do offer fans in both rooms. Fortunately the weather broke right before we got there so instead of hot and humid it was cool and dry. The outdoor space was nice because we had access to overlook the bay and with a small walk we were able to get to the water. Not sure it's ideal for any kind of swimming but you do have access which is nice. Overall it was a nice stay, but I don't feel that I would want to spend more than 2 nights here total. It's a personal preference as I enjoy more space.

Cabins are very cute and rustic, but have wifi, small kitchen, and bathrooms with running water. There are two larger houses on the property for rent, along with several cabins ranging from 1 to 2 bedroom. This would be a perfect spot to rent with a group of friends/family and be close to one another while still maintaining some of your own space. Each cabin has a grill, and there are two firepits on the property along with picnic tables. The location itself is great. You're somewhere in between Bar Harbor and Winter Harbor where you can easily access both sides of Acadia National Park. Bar Harbor is only about a 40 min drive and there's a ton to see on Route 3 on the way over. Be sure to check out Flander's Bay BBQ on weekends and Dunbar's Store down the road!

There is a gravel lot for parking, which is convenient since most restaurants and experiences can be walked to in town, helping you avoid the fight for parking. We stayed in the Charter Suite - I only wish it had been cold enough for us to use the working fireplace. That would have added extra charm! Kristi met us as we checked in and provided a warm welcome, even a warm send off by providing us muffins to go for our early flight. My fiancée and I greatly enjoyed our stay and are hopeful to one day return to Bar Harbor and Saltair Inn.

We stayed on the 3rd floor in the Beehive Suite. It was a bit of a trek going up and down as many times as we did, especially with heavy luggage, but we loved the room and the view!!!! And we never heard a single other guest during our stay. They have a great HVAC system that keeps the third floor very cool. And the bed and pillows were very comfortable. There is a parking space for a car for every room. When we arrived, we got a thorough welcoming from Matt. He showed us on a map some suggestions of where to eat. The inn is an easy walk from the town and about a five minute drive from the entrance to Acadia National Park. We didn't partake in breakfast, but saw many others enjoying it. They have a beautiful deck with plenty of seating, and Adirondack chairs in the yard to enjoy the stars. They keep the lights and music on all night, so no matter when you arrive home, you feel comfortable and safe. The only thing that we missed was access to ice. There is a tiny machine in the breakfast room, but that only makes enough ice for about 3 drinks for the whole place. We had to buy ice at the Circle K every day and keep it in our cooler in the room for our water bottles and cocktails. If you ever travel to Bar Harbor, this is the place to stay!!! Best view ever!!!

I cannot recommend Twin Tides highly enough. We rolled into town for a 4-month stay with a…read more7-month-old pup, and since she suffers from horrible car sickness, there were plenty of times we had to leave her behind while we ran errands or explored. Every single time, she had SO much fun at daycare and boarding. Honestly, I think she'd let the staff adopt her in a heartbeat (not happening, lol). I was especially grateful when she started struggling with skin issues and we had no choice but to drop her off for boarding due to a necessary trip. The team attended to all her medications and medicated shampoos with genuine care and attention. When we picked her up six days later, she looked like a brand new pup. (Don't worry, our vet cleared her for the stay. Neither Twin Tides nor I would ever put other dogs at risk.) They even went out of their way to pick up the specific medicated shampoo she needed after our vet had to special-order it. Thank you so much to Natasha, her amazing sister, and the rest of the crew at Twin Tides. You took such good care of our girl, and we are genuinely going to be sad to leave town and lose access to a place we trust this much.

We loved our little room. Each room was assigned a name instead of a number. It was clean and comfortable. They also had a recreation room which had some weights, bikes, and a pool table with vending machines that you can hang out in. They also accommodated us with a complimentary breakfast. There were bagels, cereal, egg, and ham, which was enough for us to build up energy for our day. I'd def recommend staying here if you're not necessarily looking for a luxury stay, but are still looking for comfort!

The parking lot is small but we were able to find a spot. It's not the most well-lit so be careful when parking/walking. Checking in was easy, we called the number at the front desk and someone came to help us. We even got a late night snack (chocolate mousse) to bring up to our room. The inn is a cute, quaint little house that feels very warm and homey. Our room had a bed with a giant wooden bedframe and the amenities were clean and simple. We got a pair of super comfortable robes too! Now, let's talk food. Every day, you go downstairs into a cute little parlor/tea room. There's always a sweet option and a savory option, and everything is made fresh in house. I mean it when I say these were some of the best breakfasts I've had in my life! Pancakes, waffles, French toast, breakfast quiches... always with a healthy side of fresh fruit and some carb or meat. I seriously looked forward to waking up every day just so I could find out what the breakfast options were. My husband likes sweet and I like savory so we always each ordered one and shared.
