Came across Loyal Biscuit Co when I was staying in the area and my dog needed more of a specific kind of food. They have a nice website, which I checked first to see what brands they sold. It's clear from the website this is a high end pet store, which is what I prefer over Petco. I was surprised at how large the store is. They even had products I've seen as unavailable online so I stocked up. The store is on main street in Rockland but there's a rear entrance with parking! I have been coming to Loyal Biscuit since they first opened in Rockland many years ago. I prefer this Loyal Biscuit location because the staff is knowledgable, very helpful (they haul out large bags of Acana for me regularly - which some of their other stores do not even offer....) and they have the quality food that I prefer. The staff also has been there for years, which is a testament to their dedication. They have bonuses for those who are "regulars", and delightful treats on special holidays and occasions, which make fabulous gifts. My dogs all love to come visit, get some treats, and say hello. The staff is aware of obedience skills, they have to sit for their treat! I have noticed their cat offerings have expanded considerably, and they always have sturdy toys for breeds like the Scottish Deerhounds and Aussies. Very good folks and a very fine store. read more

On a snowy, Saturday in January my fiancé and I were driving around exploring the area and spotted The Loyal Biscuit. The name threw us off a little bit because we thought we had found a local dog treat bakery but it's more of a speciality pet store with some toys, collars/leashes/harnesses, a small selection of food and a pretty diverse selection of treats. I would almost refer to it as a boutique but I didn't see any pet clothing for sale. There was also a dog wash area that looked pretty clean and might be something we try out if are in the area during warmer months and our pups get dirty from some outdoor activities. We're all about spoiling our pups though so we picked up some toys, treats and a few cans of wet food because we were running low at home. The toys seemed a bit on the pricier side but I felt like the treats were priced as expected. I managed to find some unique items for them like honey glazed dehydrated beef lung, salmon skins, a reasonably priced antler chew and a few other bits and bobs for them to snack on. About $100 later we were done with our shopping trip and had some very happy (spoiled) pups on our hands. Be forewarned that there may be a cat loose within the store as there was when we stopped in. Once we realized it we were able to strategically keep our dogs away from wherever the cat happened to be but if you have a dog who is reactive to felines you might have an unexpected situation on your hands if your dog noticed the cat before you. read more

Great shop for your furry friends! We stopped in with our dogs to pick up a few treats for the park and found some great healthy snacks and treats for them. They also had the most adorable Pupcakes in the freezer in the back. I love this place!! Rockland is my hometown but I live in Maryland now and the Loyal Biscuit has hands down the BEST dog wash that I've ever been to!! We gave our Doodle Blue the best bath here. It was clean, fully stocked with the best products, and had the best blow dryer and brushes (a necessity for doodle owners) ever!! My fiance and I have come here a few times over the past few years and have always gotten something. We have Loyal Biscuit stickers on our cars! Last year we each got shirts that have stood the test of time, my fiance wears his all the time and it still fits and feels like new. This year we got our godpuppy a lobster toy that is so sturdy even that little German Shepherd is having a hard time tearing it up. The people are usually friendly and helpful, plus there are pups in the store! We loveee that! The only thing I really wish is that they carried just a few more cat supplies. PROs: Nice place. Went here to give my dog a bath. They have two, clean, well stocked bath stalls with air blow dryer. Good selection of shampoo and conditioners including a hypoallergenic shampoo for sensitive skin. They also provide ear cleaning solution. Staff was friendly. $16 for everything. CON: I travel full time and regularly use dog wash stations throughout the country. For a similar set up I am accustomed to paying $10-$15. To be fair, I think the shampoo they provide is a high end shampoo. And not all dog wash stations provide ear cleaning solution. If I come thru here again, I would come back. read more

We were here over a year ago, but I still remember how incredible both the store itself and the owner were. We had come to Maine on vacation with our Labrador who had been diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma and only had another 6 months to live. We brought her to Lake Pushaw because it was her absolute favorite place, and we came to Loyal Biscuit Co. looking for a special fetch toy. The owner of the store was very kind to us and our dog, and spent time with us looking for the perfect toy. I will never forget her attention and kindness. I was on my way to a larger pet store further away when I spotted Loyal Biscuit. I'd never been in the store, so I thought i'd give it a try. I found their cat supplies to be limited. I had to greet the lady at the counter first then ask for assistance. She showed me her choices for the product I was searching for. I found her curt and abrupt. She almost finished her sentence, " well, that's all we have," but stopped herself because she knew she was being short with me. So much for this customer. We have been customers at the Loyal Biscuit for many years. We always take our Aussie in to Loyal Biscuit for his bath before he is goes to the groomer to be clipped. The dog bathing area at the Loyal Biscuit is always clean and set up with the best soaps, clean towels, industrial sized dog hairdryer, and just about anything else one needs. The staff is always friendly and eager to lend a helping hand when needed. The Loyal Biscuit is a wonderful addition to Rockland's Main Street. The Loyal Biscuit Co. is the best pet supply shop I have ever gone to. The owners, Heidi and Joel are incredibly kind, helpful, and are always looking for the best pet products around. They offer a wide variety of good quality, nutritious foods (kibble, canned, dehydrated, and raw) as well as treats, toys, bowls, collars, leashes, beds, and clothes. Almost all, if not everything they sell is either made in the US or Canada. They even have a self-serve dog wash complete with shampoos, towels, groomer-grade tubs, and professional grooming stations. My dog isn't too happy about that (she hates bathes) but I sure am. And the price really can't be beat. Pets are always welcome if they are on a leash. If you're in Rockland, even for a visit, you'll definitely want to stop by if you have a pet at home waiting for your return (and hoping you bought them something special).
