He got it back up to speed in one day, at a very reasonable cost. I've waited a few months to post this review because I've experienced services that turn out to be of short-term benefit - but not in this case! My computer still starts up immediately and runs well. I'm truly delighted! I also asked him about repairs on my husband's elderly desktop computer. He could have made a few bucks on the repair and we'd have been happy to pay it, but he was completely upfront in explaining that it wasn't worth our while to pay for hardware repairs on a unit whose life expectancy is limited because it can't handle a software upgrade. I wanted to wait a year to see how well my computer performed, mainly its stability. WinTech is literally the best computer service in the Tri-Cities! He migrated all my data to a new computer that runs most excellent and gave me a good price for it as well. It's worked flawlessly in the last year so I now want to give him his final rating. I just visited last week with a pc that was built for me a while ago. I'm not a computer guy and it ran for quite a while until I moved. I had wanted to set my pc back up to make some music and do computer things, but one of the fans started to make a lot of noise and it was throwing a boot code every time I turned it on. This was in September of 2021. It wasn't until about a week ago that I decided to begin searching for someone to help me repair it as all of my YouTube videos deemed useless. I had no idea what to do and over the weekend the problem was addressed and I got a call first thing Monday morning and was informed that a component that shouldn't have gone out had failed and after answering some questions I was offered a new piece (which I found out later was a hard component to get you hands on) for a VERY competitive price . About once a year my wife or I screw up our laptops or something happens and we take it into WinTech. I love Wintech Computer Services! Very good service. Shawn is very knowledgable about computers and the pricing is very reasonable. My computer kept shutting off randomly and I thought it was because my battery needed to be replaced so I took it to Batteries Plus. They said that it wasn't the battery and they couldn't figure out what was wrong so they recommended I take my laptop to Wintech and I did.
