5 stars well deserved - first off, I tried calling Best Buy, and couldn't get past the AI robot to ask my question...really annoying. Messaged Cline's on their website and I got a response within an hour I think. Brought my computer in, personable and knowledgeable staff, quick service with no promises, but I felt cared for. They tried multiple things to try and fix my computer, unfortunately it was the motherboard, and not worth the cost per their recommendation since it is about the cost of a used computer. They were able to transfer all my data to my hard-drive, which I appreciated. The real 5 star and beyond was they called me 1 week after to follow up on my service and my device. I don't think I've ever had a follow up call for something like this. Will take all my needs to them in the future for sure! read more

The staff was nice BUT, I've taken my computer there twice now. I should have learned after the first time. First time: I needed my power port replaced in 2022. When I finally got my computer back, got it home, it wouldn't turn on. They power port hadn't actually been connected. Had to take it back in. Got a call to come pick it up, got it home and it powered on, but the keyboard didn't work. Whatever vendors they used to repair it were very sloppy. Second time: I just had to have a palm rest replaced on my computer. Obviously a big markup on parts, as expected, but when I got it home, now it makes a constant ticking noise, and the speakers don't work. Very frustrating after paying $450 bucks for a palm rest replacement. read more

Cline computers has a friendly patient staff that helped me out with a new to me computer and the set up of that computer.

I believe there was just either a miscommunication, or lack of communication, that caused myself to write this initial review. After the review was written, and I had reached out to Cline Computers, their after/hours technician was really helpful, and got me a copy of my work order, and explained everything really well. Really quickly it became clear I had just different expectations than what I had gone in with, so I do appreciate the willingness of the business to reach out, offer to fix the error, get me a copy of the work order, and a refund of a rush charge. ------------------------------------------------ Brought a PC in, was experiencing cyclical restart error messages, and blue screens. Left with an $83 bill, Windows uninstalled on my device, and no work order, or any proof that work was done. Had to contact business for any proof of diagnostics ran, overall a needlessly stressful and draining experience. The only reason I would go back, would be for the after-hours tech support guy. He was knowledgeable, and seemed to actually care about the job, and communicating with customers. read more

Joel over at Cline Computers saved my trip last week. I was up in Richland visiting family and my work laptop just started acting up and then eventually would not turn back on. Joel helped me first by doing some data backup so I could save some files I was working on and then proceeded to go through all the different things like virus and malware removal. Then they figured out it was a bad hard drive and installed a new one that same day. I was back up and running so I could get onto the internet and finish up my work on time. Price seemed reasonable but I can guarantee that the service was FIVE STARS! read more

Follow up: Joel Cline contacted me to resolve this. I am now confident that this was a case of miscommunication. The work that was done, was done well. I found Joel to have a lot of integrity. I appreciate his contact. While I will be very sure that my expectations are clear, I'd use Cline Computers again. Because my previous experience was excellent, I'm bumping to 3 stars, and adding this information. ---------------- I have previously been a real fan of Cline's. I have recommended several people to Cline over years. Of course I contacted them to do some work on my dad's computer. He is 83 and nearly blind and nearly deaf. But I work full time, and reached a point where I couldn't get any further. The previous visit was great, so I counted on them to help me out here. I asked for a specific thing to be looked at. I made sure they had my number to discuss any problem. They claimed he had hard drive failure, which may or may not be the case. I didn't see that behavior - but perhaps they caught it early. They offered to take it and replace the hard drive - estimating about $250. Since he trusted them, because I had recommended them, he agreed. He got it back today, new hard drive - $360 and no software reinstalled. Particularly, his accessibility software, no email, no nothing. So I will be leaving work to go spend hours trying to finish this job. He could have bought a new refurbished computer for that. I am so disappointed! And incredibly angry, and feel that he has been greatly taken advantage of. I will not use Cline again, I will not recommend Cline again. And I encourage others to use caution in dealing with these guys. read more

Fast, professional service. I had a networking issue and was missing some step. The technician from Cline came out and fixed the issue in no time. Then, he made sure all devices on our home network were functioning. Previously, they fixed my wife's laptop which had gotten a virus, at a very reasonable cost. He fixed the issues we had with the computer, and installed software that will make it easier for us to keep it working to our satisfaction . Today, Cline Computers diagnosed and fixed my old, reliable PC. I won't go into detail here but they gave me a 2-page typed account of Shop Notes that explained everything they did. The PC was in and out of the shop in 2 hours! Their diagnostics fee was reasonable, they got it done quickly, and they were professional and explained what they would do both in the phone call I made prior to dropping it off, and then again in writing when I picked it up. A few months ago my laptop screen completely shut off out of the blue. One night it was working and after I had gone to bed and attempted to turn on my laptop the next morning, the screen was black. I had since taken it to Best Buy because that's where my parents had bought it less than one year ago. They told me they would only be able to look at it if they took it apart, which would cost me $100. His best guess was that my motherboard needed replacing because it didn't seem to be charging (even though I knew it was charging). I told them I wasn't going to pay them $100 simply for a diagnosis. They then suggested I send it to the east coast directly to the company and see what they told me. I wasn't too fond of this idea so I took it home to California so my dad could look at it. He has previously built computers so I assumed he could figure it out. All the while, I was emailing cline computers in case my dad couldn't find the problem. My dads diagnosis was that the screen was no longer working. I took it in to Cline Computers, expecting a screen repair. They opened it up to look at it while I was filing out the new client paperwork. Before I had finished, he had "fixed" my computer. My screen was black because I had a single button that shuts off the entire screen instantly. Without using a function button, just blacks it out. My computer was never broken, but they didn't charge me to look at it for a few minutes to troubleshoot before charging me money to fix it. They could have charged an initial fee or a diagnosis, anything. But they didn't; they were friendly and helpful and I could have spent so much money otherwise! read more

I would not recommend doing business with cline computers. They had my computer for two days without making a diagnosis. When I asked why it was taking so long they responded very defensively and told me I could just come puck my computer up. This was very upsetting because when I took my computer in they said they would call me the next day, they didn't. When i went to pick my computer up the employees were all out back not even working. No wonder they are running behind! Poor service:( I gave my business to someone who would be honest about turnaround time and have some customer service skills. read more

Not happy with their level of care for others equipment. I took my pc in for a diagnosis when a windows update had happened overnight and caused a bios error which reset the pcie x16 back to protected causing the display to not work at all. I left it with them for almost 2 weeks while they tried to figure it out. They told me they had their "senior" tech look at it and could not say more than "it might be the motherboard or processor". I normally fix my pc's myself but I was very busy and was willing to give them a shot. Well, they couldn't figure it out, so I asked them to "button it up" and make it ready to return to me in the condition I gave it to them in. I went to pick it up and looked inside the case first. What I saw was not acceptable. Everything including my brand new video card was disconnected and just thrown in the case without a care. Cables were wedged between the cover and the video card putting pressure on the pcie slot. Is this how they treat their own computers? read more

My laptop's hinge broke (later found out the entire screen had to be replaced), so I brought it here after getting an estimate. They told me they would order the parts needed, but that I didn't hear anything for a MONTH. I called and they said they had somehow forgotten about my laptop and would reorder parts. I waited another month and called again and they said they had used the parts for someone else's computer (?!?!) and now they could not locate the parts again, so there was nothing they could do. So, after holding my laptop for two months, they did absolutely NOTHING, and had forgotten about me TWICE! Fuming, I went to pick my laptop up, which had been disassembled and left in two pieces, and they actually asked me for a $45 consultation fee. Needless to say, I shot him a look that must have scared him silly and he waived the fee, which is the only good thing that came of this experience. I later went to a different, local repair shop and my screen was replaced within a week and a half. Biggest waste of time but luckily I didn't spend any money on the whole ordeal. read more
