Traditional French Toast Brunch
Laura C.

Winnie's is a no-frills, casual breakfast spot offering beloved breakfast classics. We tried the make-your-own omelette (mushrooms, onions, and cheese please!), a breakfast burrito, and French toast. All dishes were delicious and well-prepared. We went during memorial day weekend, and it seems many people were out of town because there was literally no wait and barely any tables filled. There is usually a line out the door with guests waiting and packed with people. Keep this mind if thinking about visiting! The relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere makes it a great spot for a quick breakfast. While I wouldn't go out of my way to visit, it's definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area.

We stopped in for brunch and absolutely loved it! They currently have great holiday cocktails (we got the Peppermint Espresso Martini and Sugar Cookie Martini). For brunch we ordered the avocado toast and fried chicken and waffles. The food was delicious and came quickly and the servers were friendly. On a Saturday morning for a party of two it was immediate seating at the bar or about 10-15 minutes at a table. Winnie's is located right on the Main Street of Manayunk so it was a great location downtown and cute inside the restaurant. Absolutely will be back!

So a lot of the reviews here are from regulars who have been here multiple times and have issues with service and food. My review is based on a single visit. We went here early on a Saturday morning so there was no wait time. They had few breakfast specials so we decided to try the breakfast burrito and the huevos rancheros. We requested to sub the sausage with grilled chicken, which the kitchen accommodated, but said they would charge us extra, at the time we assumed it would be a couple bucks extra. Anyway the food was 5/5, filling and so good. We were just a little taken aback to see that they charged us an extra $8 for the chicken sub. $25 for a breakfast burrito just hurts! It was good but so is the breakfast burritos at Wawa and they are under $10 . That's the only reason they lost a star. I will definitely give it another try.

Wing! They were delish!

I've heard nothing but glowing reviews about this place. So with friends in town, we went. Our server wasn't pleasant. She acted as if we were interrupting her day. We asked for suggestions, she couldn't give any because she hadn't tried the food. If you order the surf and turf cheesesteak, SAVE YOUR MONEY. The lobster was almost invisible, no exaggeration. And there was more bread than steak meat. My wings were EXCELLENT though. Fries were really good too, just too small of a portion for a "large" at $11. Two in my party order drinks, the old fashion was great but the spicy lemonade drink tasted like it had no alcohol. Nice spot though. I would give it another try. But was very disappointed from all the hype I've heard about it.

I dined here for lunch. The weather was nice. Parking: metered street and a parking lot within walking distance by the ice cream place for $5/hr Atmosphere: bright & a little loud inside. We ate outside, and I enjoyed the outdoor setup. The only thing I didn't like about dining outside was people waking by with their dogs. I will dine indoors the remainder of the summer. Service: It was good. Our server was very helpful and accommodating. Drinks: Strawberry blonde sangria. It wasn't good. I sent it back and got selected the vodka tonic with cheeries. That was good. Food: I had a Caesar salad, and it was ok. I also ordered the burger, and it was dry and had no taste. I added some salt and pepper, onions, and sauces in order to enjoy it. Overall, I wasn't impressed with my choices, but I may go back to try something ender.

Food was amazing, food came out fast and hot. Customer service was great. Restaurant was very clean. 2nd time here and I will be back. Great place to get a quick bite to eat.

Winnie's is a Manayunk staple!! The chili is my favorite thing on the menu (comes with corn bread!!) 3 stars because I'm a Caesar snob and would have liked a little more dressing with a little more hint of anchovy. Don't let the 3 star fool you, this is a solid solid place.

After taking a break from Winnie's for a while, I've come back and found the new menu on point. Further, their service, which was already solid, won a few bonus points for me this weekend when we arrived with a group of 9 sweaty runners, including a few folks who needed assistance. The manager showed no hesitation at getting us seated as soon as possible. She also checked in with us regularly. I do regret not catching her name! I've limited my visits to Winnie's in the brunch window, so cannot comment on offers outside the 10-2 timeframe. A friend of mine constantly orders their Huevos Rancheros and tells me I should get them as well. However, I usually find one of their specials catches my eye. For the most part, I have not been disappointed with them, so I think I will stick with it. Check them out for brunch!

Peach bellini

I have a mixed review. I came here for brunch on a Sunday, it was availability on OpenTable the day before which was perfect. To start, I was surprised that only tap water was available and no option for bottled water. Our waitress was nice but unhelpful and was not able to provide any recommendations. The food was good but surprisingly the portion sizes were rather small. For example I ordered potatoes and received them in a very small container with about 10 small pieces of potatoes. Otherwise the food and drinks were good. We got peach bellini. As we were finished eating she brought the check and never asked if we needed anything or wanted to order anything else. I felt like we were being rushed when we had not even finished our food yet. We sat inside and the decor and set up were cute.

Most overrated Fast Food in Manayunk. Slow service. 40 minutes for food. Waitress no where to be found. Mediocre food.

Food was bad, service even worse. Not enough staff, just a terrible lunch experience. Get it together Winnie.

Pretty good overall!…read more Considerably big space for Philly. They had an upstairs too but I am not sure why it wasn't open during majority of the night. When the big crowd from the conference left they opened the upstairs. The Mac and cheese is SO GOOD. Very creamy and rich, the bread crumbs were an amazing surprise edition. This fatty finished it before the beer came. Lots of beer choices. I took off a start be size they were under staffed. So we were just waiting around for the check and the waitress kept forgetting what we asked for. Honestly, not her fault. There were like ~100 people and only 3 employees that I saw. So no designated waiter for tables. These poor 3 employees were the bartenders and the table waiters.

My wife had the crispy chicken sandwich which was really good. The crust was crunchy and the chicken was tender and juicy. I had the porchetta sandwich which was recommended by our waiter and was SO DELICIOUS! It is a must! At first my wife was concerned about the limited menu. They may not have an extensive menu but what they do, they do right! Our waiter was really great and very welcoming, especially as we were from out of town. The place has a rustic vibe which fits with its old town location. We loved it! If we ever find ourselves back in Philly, we will definitely visit Glory again!

Food: 4 Drinks: 5 Service: 4 Value: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Food: Surprisingly good. We shared the chicken quesadilla. It was filled to the filled to the brim and delicious. They cooked it perfectly with the edges getting extra crispy like a tortilla chip. I didn't have high expectations for a place thats primarily a bar, but this blew me away all things considered. Drinks: Best taproom in the city. 20+ premium options. They have an awesome selection of beers, including some local options. They have wine and liquor too, but you should focus on the beer. This is the place to go for a good draught. Service: Servers are friendly and down to earth. They're great at suggesting different beers. Value: Not cheap, but not bad. Beers are $8-10 (pretty much market price in the West Village) and food is a decent bargain given how much food you get. Atmosphere: Its a cross between an old school pub and a sports bar. Its dark and 90% male (my wife always comments on how male heavy it is) but I think it has a good vibe. Good beer, good food options, and friendly servers.
