Picking some yummy blueberries on this beautiful August morning.

I have been going blueberry picking at this family farm since I was a little girl. It's very special to me to be able to recreate this same tradition with my daughters! The picking season at Winney's is earlier and longer than most farms. You have the option of pick-your-own, or purchasing already picked berries. This was the last week of picking season, so we were instructed where to drive in and park for the most plentiful berries. The fields are very buggy. Next time, we will be prepared with bug spray and sunhats. Although we arrived late in the season, we didn't have trouble finding some good berries. The farm stand offered a choice of small or large buckets. The small ones were a nice size for my four and six year old to carry and fill. The berries were very reasonably priced. We picked enough for 2 dozen muffins, and plenty more to enjoy fresh and to freeze. We will be back next year for our yearly berry picking trip!

Very friendly staff, inexpensive and easy to navigate. FYI, it is a cash only establishment.

This place is great! Love mid July with fresh plump blueberries! They always have great blueberries and plenty of them for a good price!

What an amazing Saturday find for us tourists! As we left our vacation in Lake George, we headed to…read morethe Farmers' Market for coffee and breakfast. The market did not disappoint! It was the last day of the season for the market to be outside (October) and we found delightful jellies, breakfast sandwiches/burritos, fresh milk (drank and returned the glass bottle on site), boutique cheeses, and freshly made crepes (savory and sweet available). $2 locally-roasted coffee? Yes, please! While we didn't buy any groceries, there were plenty of local farm fresh vegetables, eggs, and meats available, in addition to whole and ground coffee beans, breads, and other goods. So glad we made our way here!

As for the outdoor portion, there was a wide array of vendors and the prices were very reasonable. The non-farmer vendors offered great products like soaps, oils, baked goods and cooked to order crepes, which were delicious. If we lived in the area, we would likely be there every week. *Our visit was during COVID19, the Farmers Market offered and supported good protocols as did each vendor.

We ate the whole bag in the parking lot. I had to go back and get more to bring home. We went there for apple picking and I have to say their per person bag requirement kind of caught me off guard. I've been to other places where you can buy a bag or as many bags as you want to go pick apples but this one requires every single person to purchase a bag. A peck of apples is $14. So you can imagine if you have a bunch of kids over their age requirement and have to buy a bag for each kid, it's very expensive and you get more apples than you could possibly eat. We go for the experience and usually fill a bushel bag or two. I did not like that. It was the reason why we did not go to Bowman's. They got us anyway. The store was filled with fresh vegetables and apples and all kinds of things you could purchase. Breads, maple syrup, soup mixes. I would come here just to shop! There was a live music, which really set the tone for a beautiful fall day. We bought some cute bucket hats from a vendor out front. The staff was super friendly too!

The farm market is amazing, with excellent produce and local products you'd expect at a market such as jellies, and of course some excellent cider donuts. They work hard to make visiting here a destination, particularly on weekends, with live music for adults and other events, and of course apple picking, mazes and other fun kid-friendly activities. The apple picking itself is a bit hit-and-miss--a lot of spots can be sparse--perhaps a victim of their own success. Not always the best yield here, but then you mostly go for the experience, right?
