I have no complaints for this property at all. It's a very clean and neat hotel, that is really designed to be an extended stay option. It has all of the amenities you would need for a multiple day stay. Laundry room, gym, pool and fire pits outside, & a convenience area with all kinds of items and drinks. The store items for purchase were a little steep but that's to be expected in a hotel. The staff at the front desk were very pleasant and helpful when I needed anything. The facility is in great shape and I had a comfortable stay. The TV is huge also! My only negatives would be that I had some hair from the guests prior to me in the shower and I struggled a bit to get my game hooked up to the WiFi. The pillows are a bit too soft also , but again that's usually the case in hotels. I really enjoyed the pool and fire pit area and it really makes you feel like you're on a nice vacation! This location is 8-10 minutes from a ton of restaurant and store options as well and close to the downtown area and Rupp arena & CBC where I had a conference. Thanks for a great stay! Our room wasn't ready for an early check-in so we had to wait. All that said, this is an amazing new hotel in a great location, walking distance from a couple of restaurants and stores. It was a great day so we got a chance to get out and walk. There's Starbucks and a store with little Cesar's inside, also connected to a Mexican restaurant on one side and Jimmy John's on the other. Kroger coming soon on the other side of the hotel. It's also in great proximity to a strip of stores, including Walmart, etc. So we found it within 5 minutes without any issues. The room is nice and new great amenities and I look forward to staying there again.

The room is a compact version of a Holiday Inn Express. There is little room to move around. I did not see a coffee maker in the room. The drain in the shower is in the middle thus soapy water runs where you are standing making the surface slippery. After the booking was confirmed, a deposit of 233.91 was charged to my credit card and there was no indication a deposit was required. Unfortunately, I had to cancel and did so in the amount of time to not be charged a fee. My deposit has not been refunded. Bookings.com said I had to contact hotel and hotel said to contact Bookings.com to receive refund. Disappointing runaround and no refund. I am sure the hotel is lovely but the booking and cancellation process is a nightmare.

We were visiting the Ark Encounter and had our RV with us but based on the reviews of the closest RV parks and their prices we opted to try The North Star. They had a nice large parking area across from the motel that was perfect for our 5th wheel. We also had our 10lb. dog with us. The lady who took my reservation explained they had pet rooms and there would be a small fee. Usually if a hotel says they have specific rooms they put guests with pets in they stink or have been wreaked by rambunctious fur babies but this place had no odor or visible signs of abuse. The flooring was ceramic tile. There was a very nice handwritten note in the room along with bottled water, snacks and even a new toy for our fur baby. We had an issue with the remote control not working and as soon as I reported it someone was in my room in less than 5 minutes to fix the problem. We were so happy with the accommodations we decided to stay another night and see the Creation Museum. We plan on returning and bringing ourgrandkids.

When we checked-in, the front desk attendant was very friendly and we were able to check in early, but she informed us that the pool was temporarily closed after a 'rough' couple of days over the holiday. She said they were hoping to have it back up and running by 6 pm. We decided to take our daughter to a local arcade/indoor ride center and dinner to kill some time in the hopes that when we got back, the pool would be open. When we returned around 9 we were informed the pool was not open and it likely would not be for another 48 hours. That was not what we wanted to hear... I did explain our frustration and we were offered a discounted stay. The desk agent also said I should still check in tomorrow afternoon to see if they got it working or not. We had some distillery tours scheduled the next day so we did that and I messaged the hotel in the Marriott app to check on the pool and was told it was still not working. We found other things to keep us busy and when we returned around 6 that evening the desk agent (same woman from night before) told me that she'd messaged me in the Marriott app about the pool being fixed and back open. I had missed the message but was so happy to tell my daughter it was open and I was very impressed the desk agent messaged me and remembered how important it was for us to use the pool. Aside from all of that, the hotel itself was very nice and clean. The room was modern and comfortable, especially the sofa. Breakfast was decent but the selection was limited. Overall we would stay here again if we return to the Lexington area.

Parking at least was free even if you had to park in the back. I had a perfect old fashioned at the bar, but never sampled the food at the restaurant. I found the menu a little limited, and they closed the kitchen early. I was getting in late every night it seems. Location of the hotel is prime for getting around or shopping locally. Bed is comfortable, but I had a problem regulating my body temp on it. I was not a fan of the heat pump in use because in the winter time like now, it still feels cool. So, try not to sleep close to it. I guess in summer time, you might want to sleep next to it. Shower head is pretty good, but with only 8 streams of water. Wish it was more like 18, but the ones it has had good pressure. I found the size choices on the towels a little strange. Face cloth is oversized, towel for shower undersized. Unless you're Kate Upton, you're not gonna cover up with their towels. If it was more than me, it would've not been enough towels either. The one annoyance I had with the room is the design of not having a clothes wardrobe to hang items up in. They go with the hanging on the rail approach, which is a little too trendy for my tastes. But there is ample storage in the dresser drawers, even if the bottom drawer was missing a pull handle. Plenty of power options throughout. TV is a standard 55", so I wish hotels would realize that 65 is the new 55. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.
