Had a king suite. Hotel was semi-updated and clean. Room was clean and spacious enough for our needs. Bed was comfortable. Restful overnight stay at the end of a quiet hall with a killer fall view outside our window. Fair rate, clean room with lots of floor space and Covid safeguards in place. Shower hot and strong, but the coffee at the front desk brown-bag breakfast sadly was not. However, with so many good food options nearby in this cool small town, breakfast is not my reason for staying here so no harm no foul. Check in/check out quick and easy and called direct to reserve. First off, location is very convenient, right off the highway. Unfortunately, the rooms are not properly insulated so you end up hearing the trucks zooming by on I75 all night. When you walk down the first floor hallway, watch your step. The first thing you'll see is the dryer in the corner trying to dry out the dampness in the carpet. Go a little further and you'll trip over the bulging carpet just past the ice machine. The website says there is a "$25 pet fee" but they will double charge you if you have 2 pets. Nowhere on the site does it say it's "Per Pet", so if you have 2 dogs with you, you're getting charged $50. Buyer beware. read more

First, if you're traveling with a dog, this place is pet friendly! If not, don't worry, you wouldn't know it. I say that because there are no dog smells in the hallways or room. It's a very nice and clean hotel. We had a king room that had a very comfortable bed, nice bathroom and clean carpeting. The hotel looks nice from the outside. It was roughly after 9:00 p.m. when we checked in. We chose a dog friendly room as we have two small miniature schnauzers. we did a pre-check in so getting there, getting our keys and getting to the room was very quick. We unloaded the dogs and their crates, had them set up in the room and in their crates when we noticed some things. There was a trash can that still had trash in it, including a liquor bottle. With covid being what it is it raised concern that the room hadn't been cleaned properly. We looked over the rest of the room and it looked clean and sanitized as the paper they left on the counter suggested. My husband went down to the front desk to tell them what we found. The desk clerk did offer to change rooms for us but we had already unpacked, set up dog crates and got the dogs in bed for the evening. She did say that it had been over 48 hours since anyone had been in this room. that being said and the fact that we were tired and ready to just sleep for the night we decided to stay in the room we were in and get some rest. I pulled back the duvet cover and the comforter had three stains on it. yes they were small and yes they look like they had been there for quite some time, but I think they should remove this from rotation and just throw it away. nobody likes crawling into bed with stains on their comforter. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was spotless and shiny clean. Everything else in the room seem to be up to par. just not really what we expected from a Marriott hotel chain. because of covid they didn't have a breakfast bar any longer but they did serve warm bagels sandwiches, hot coffee and an assortment of granola bars, muffins and cereal. read more

I travel to all Marriott brand hotels for business and pleasure, this one is just okay. Not terrible, but not superb. But I do have to say the front desk and breakfast cooks are super friendly. They have great customer service here. My family is from Georgetown and somehow I was actually related to a worker. My only complaint is the shower and tub. Hopefully, next time they will be a bit cleaner. All in all not a bad stay. Hopefully I will be a gold elite member next time to be upgraded to a suite. read more

Stayed at this Fairfield Inn a little over a year ago and was impressed with the style and layout of the suite. Not sure what year it was built, or if it had been recently remodeled, but it was decorated in bright colors with a modern flair. We were in and out quickly because we had to drive onto Xavier the next morning, but we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and the comfortable stay. read more

After staying at other hotels in the area, I found an appreciation for the little things Fairfield offers. Free coffee and fresh Chocolate Chip Cookies in the lobby after work is a nice touch. Breakfast is suppose to be at 6AM but they had it ready and allowed us to eat at 5:30AM. (Had to leave for work) Very friendly staff. Very accommodating staff. We were on our way up north and needed a place to park our travel trailer as we were staying at the hotel. I called in advance to ensure it would be ok and the man who answered was so nice! Plus once we checked into the hotel he gave us a pet friendly room closest to the outside door where we parked our rig. Very convenient if you're traveling with a pup. The nice man waiting on us glanced at my driver's license and as it turns out, he's originally from my hometown too despite being almost 300 miles from home. Small world! read more

I have a love-hate relationship with this particular Fairfield Inn. I've stayed here a total of 6 nights (two different trips) for business purposes. On both occasions I've been happy with the staff and the cleanliness. The price is right, and there is free breakfast and wi-fi. However, the rooms are large suite-style, but they have old decor and appliances (a big CRT tv, not flat panel like most other Marriotts I've been to). [I have no idea what the previous commentor is saying about it having "modern flair" or being brightly colored!] There is a gym, but the cardio equipment is very old. There is a pool and hot tub, but they're outside. The lady who prepares the breakfast does so before the 6am start time advertised, which was awesome for early-risers like myself, however the hot-food options were obviously microwaved and honestly gross. (Thank goodness for the Belgian waffle maker and the cups of fruit!) What really makes this hotel not reach 3 stars is that if your room faces the highway, be prepared to hear every single vehicle throughout the night. Luckily I'm a heavy sleeper, but even the 16-wheelers would make my bed vibrate and drown out my TV. Next time I will stay somewhere else in Georgetown, or even stay in Lexington. read more

Many Marriott options are available in the lexington area surprisingly. This was the only one offering the low govt rate so stayed here. The property is rather large actually but a bit rundown. They did update the TVs and parts of each room. Overall though not bad and has everything you want. A chickfila and ruby Tuesday share the property which is nice. The traffic noise is a bit loud but not unlike other hotels near a highway. The gym equipment is pretty horrible but still working as far as cardio. They have a weight system thing but it doesn't work. Staff was amazingly nice and accommodating. I was late by a day because of flight trouble and they let me cancel the first night with no penalty despite being past the deadline. For platinum or higher status members they have me the points and some snacks and a nice large suite. The breakfast is way better than the usual frozen stuff you find at this part of the Marriott chain. Hot bacon and eggs and sausage, nutragrain bars, great cereal choices, etc. Overall, a good option for this area if you cannot get into the griffin gate. The four stars is for the staff, price, and location. read more

YIKES - Stay away. Arrived and waited 50 min (not an exaggeration) to have someone show up at front desk. The group of 10 people waiting to check in decided to cal 911 as we were worried maybe the guy died in the back. Finally the guy shows up as cops are there and I said we have been waiting 50 and called 911 on you. He said "no you haven't and looked extremely flustered. Weirdest checking into a hotel I have ever had. Rooms are average and smell a little. I called Marriott corporate to comp my room as I didn't want to have to ask the front desk guy anything. The free breakfast was more like a buffet: Sausage links, scrambled eggs, sausage gravy, a pot of oatmeal, strawberries, melon, pineapple, waffles, lots of toppings, etc. I do recommend using the heater, AC, or fan all night, due to its proximity to I-75 read more

Bathtub had thick rust. Shower curtain was slanted our clothes and floor got wet couch was nasty and stained!! highway noise so bad couldn't sleep! I wrote my review before problems arose. Our first room smelled of chemicals so badly that we asked to be moved and the mgt. must have known because they offered no resistance. The second room had a toilet that ran all the time and we had to fill it with water we filled it from the ice bucket. The bed was right next to the air conditioning / heating unit. Hard to move in and out. The toilet seat was loose and the nylon screws couldn't be tightened. On the plus side, breakfast was great and the employees were very friendly and helpful. I actually just came from a work training in Atlanta and was going to spend the night with my family halfway here at this hotel. We got there around 8pm RC the front desk person said that the general manager who's name is SHANDA OAKLEY Shanda.Oakley@marriott.com insisted to give away the rooms wow! I just would like to know if this is something new I worked as a manager for hotels and my sister works for Marriott and never heard of such thing didn't even bother contacting me. Subpar, compared to other Fairfield Inns I've stayed in. It was a very long drive and when I arrived, all I wanted to do was check in and head straight to my room. The two ladies behind the counter were helping the same couple ahead of me, instead of splitting up the work. Maybe one of them was training? When it was my turn, they were still mucking around, especially when some other people were walking by. The hotel is dated, rooms a bit musty, bed was hard, no mini fridge or microwave, and there was a lot of street noise. Breakfast itself was comparable to other Fairfield Inns. The sweet lady who was taking care of breakfast was very attentive and was often replenishing the food and drinks. As usual, they offer free water and coffee in the lobby area, but were out of coffee at 6:30 in the morning when it was time for me to head out. read more

Very accommodating - accepted our state government rate request without batting an eye. Clean room (we ended up with a suite since they were full), nicely appointed. Better than standard breakfast with friendly attendants. My husband must eat GF, and he had plenty of choices. If you're a light sleeper do not book this hotel. It's just too close to a major highway to get any kind of sleep. They do provide earplugs upon arrival, but honestly if that's something you have to do, you should consider other remedies to the issue. It should say somewhere on the Marriott site that there's a problem with noise in the hotel. It's stinks getting stuck here for two nights without sleep. That said, the staff is super friendly, the remodel looks great, and it's a pretty decent looking hotel. But, the nicest hotel turns into the worst when you can't sleep. read more

The gal at checkin was incredibly friendly and informative. The hotel is in better condition than the typical Fairfield Inn. Love the local photography they have throughout the halls. It is located right off of the freeway and is a bit noisy. read more

Def not up to standards for a Marriott location. The property is nice and the staff is friendly but the inside is very old and run down. The carpets in the room made my kids feet black in about 10min so for the rest of the trip they will wear socks and prob throw them out when we get home. They need to reinvest in this location. I would not stay here again until it is cleaned up. read more

I view hotels as a place to sleep and nothing more. I don't care much about how the room looks or the amenities. I choose my hotels based on location and price (and with a little help from fellow yelpers!). All of that said, this hotel was what I expected. Clean room and fine staff. This place was the second of the Marriott chain I stayed at on my week long road trip. I chose this place because I had a free night at a Marriott to use and this one fit the bill. It was the a quick drive to downtown Lexington and the Rupp Arena where I was attending a concert and near a short bike trail called the Legacy Trail. I ended up staying here for 2 nights and I have nothing bad to say about my stay. read more

Please look at 48 hour to Cancel room. I cancelled and received a confirmation email from the Marriott app and was still charged for my room. I made the rsvp the day before and my travel changed. Checked in original room given had a horrible smell. Window was slightly open when I tried to shut it entirely the seal was not tight and could hear outside noises still. The mini fridge was wide open when we walked in. Black dust all over top of drapes. Went to front desk to ask for a switch if possible. Front desk told me no more double beds available but a one bed with a pull out. Took it. Then friends that arrived later were given our original gross room, without knowing our circumstances, thought it too gross also and we're switched to (drum roll) a two bed room that we were told they didn't have. Drapes and floors very dirty. Will NOT stay again. Just be honest...the lie revealed and not good customer service read more

The Georgetown Fairfield is the halfway point between Cleveland and Atlanta, and has been our layover spot for many years. The staff is always friendly, the kids enjoy the pool and the rooms are always clean. Facility is currently undergoing renovations. The bathroom remodel is quite nice. Room offers a much larger refrigerator for longer stays. Staff should reach out to their sister chain - Residence Inn - for pillow recommendations, felt like I was sleeping on a brick. Despite the pillows we will continue using the Tiger Way Fairfield. read more
