Small enough that it fits between regular parking spaces.

For my #1000 review, I am dedicating this special Yelp review, for our love with the outdoors. I hope you enjoy. I've been asked a handful of times, what I love most about our Rialta made by Winnebago. I'd probably have to say.... it's the size. It will clear most fast food drive-thru. Hahaha.... I'm also sharing my RV experience here in hopes that I can help someone out there, looking to purchase one. I would also encourage you to checkout other manufactures so you can get a feel for the type of Van/RV that will fit best with your lifestyle. We've owned our Winnebago Rialta for a long time. However, we rarely take it out for trips until recently. It has very low miles. BTW - the Rialta is no longer manufactured. I believe 2005 was its last production at the Winnebago factory in Iowa. So with that in mind - "Why did we go with a Winnebago?" --Reputation - Winnebago have been making RV since the late 1950s. Winnebago also came highly recommended from many owners I met including friends and family. It is also made here in the U.S. --Customer service - they have great customer service, at least from our personal experience. We've called them a handful of times about the Warranty and parts on our Rialta, and they have always been very helpful. --Build - we think Winnebago are built to withstand many terrain and weather. We've taken ours in some of the most severe conditions, and it held up well. Probably the most exciting part about owning a Winnebago RV.... the amenities home away from home.... so here's a quick run down: --Restroom - it comes with an on suite bathroom with toilet and shower. Even has a hot running water. It also has an outdoor shower which we have used many times to wash our dogs after running at the beach. --Self contained - it has a fresh water tank, gray/black holding tank, built in generator, propane and tow package --Electricity - it can connect to shore power which comes in handy at campsites --Kitchen - has stove, fridge (runs on battery, propane or electric), sink, a microwave and a small dinette --Moon roof - perfect for letting light in and at night, it's amazing. --Built in roof TV antenna - fully equipped with direct cable plugs for two TVs, but we've never used it as we're always outside. --Roof Air - the A/C is great during hot weather and can run when the generator is on. It has kept our RV Van cool even when temperature was above 100 degrees. --Central heat - Our built in propane runs our RV central heat and works fantastic during cold weather. We were camping out in the desert and temps went below 10 degrees, and we were warm and toasty inside. What we especially love about our Winnebago Rialta? --Gas saver - I get about 18mpg especially if I drive like an old man which I do. I can easily get close to 300 miles until the next gas. Not bad for all that weight in a motorhome and you get the best of both worlds. German engineering by Volkswagen, and a reliable company like Winnebago. --Low profile - it drives like a mini-van so we don't get a lot of head wind on the highway because it's aerodynamic (see photos). Length - it's only about 21 feet long so it can fit in most parallel parking in San Francisco, and can fit in between a diagonal parking space like at Wal-Mart, Target and so on. --Height - it's close to 9 feet tall so it will clear almost any drive-thru. This is very convenient especially when you are press for time and just want to get off the highway, order right from your vehicle without having to get out, and hop back on the road. In regards to upgrades - here were the major additions/changes: --Solar roof - we've added 3 - 100 watts flexible solar. --Generator - brand new 2500 watts Cumin generator that runs directly from the gas tank --Laminate floors - took off the carpet and replaced it with laminate flooring starting from behind the cockpit. --Inverter - we added a built in 1000 watts inverter running from the roof solar. This can power my coffee maker and our electronic devices --LED lights - replaced all lights to LED. It's super bright with very little power consumption. --New countertop - we changed out the old kitchen counter top If you'd like more info or considering buying a Winnebago Rialta, goto: http://www.rialtainfo.com/model_info/pros_and_cons.htm I think the best part about having our Rialta Winnebago - we can easily take off during the weekends and take a short side kick trip pretty much anywhere, and we don't have to stay in a hotel, and wake up to million dollar ocean views, usually for free. We've even boondock and dry camp for days with our two dogs which was amazing. Lastly, the biggest reason we decided to take our RV back on the road again is because we are realizing.... life is way too short. Routine makes time go by fast, but when we take our RV out to explore different scenery, it somehow magically, stop or slow time down. Cheers!

But overall, the design of these vehicles, the solid fiberglass roofs built to stand up to years of weather and not leak, has been great.

PROS - Lichtsinn's volume of online instructional videos was helpful before the purchase and afterwards.  I flew in to Minneapolis, the pickup and drive down to Lichtsinn worked great The RV itself has been all I hoped for and more The orientation process Lichtsinn providing a loaner vehicle  The service and parts department.  I have called about 5 times over the 1st 6 months with questions and they have all been answered professionally. Some of the names I recall of people who have been very helpful:  Justin, Hannah, Cade, Stacy, Jeremy (sorry I'm not remembering everyone's names). CONS - Primarily related to the salesman I was randomly given when I first sent an email inquiry about available stock. When I brought up the idea of a 3rd party inspector (which I paid for) reviewing the vehicle before I flew in, the initial response was Reed tried to talk me out of it. When I flew in to purchase the vehicle there were a couple of items not completed from the inspection.  It appeared that Reed hadn't reviewed the inspection items.  He then tried to blame the service department. Two weeks ago I had an issue with my steps malfunctioning while I was traveling out of the country.  I called Lichtsinn towards the end of the day.  The operator forwarded me to Reed.  Reed said he would try to get someone from service.  The phone was placed on hold for 10 minutes and then finally went dead.  I called him back and left a voicemail for him.  I then called back again and Hannah (I believe she is in Accounting) was super helpful and tried to help.  I still haven't heard from Reed. For the most part Lichtsinn was reputable.  After the most recent incident it was appropriate to leave this feedback.  If you have a choice on salesperson, I would consider this. Thank you.   Steve H.

We've bought 3 campers from Camping World…read more Camping world (CW) is a bigger box store so there are good & bad things to note. Their camper prices are extremely competitive (sometimes). Although the trade in offer was pretty low and I was only able to negotiate $500 extra. I will privately sell my campers in the future. It's best to do your own work/fixes on the smaller items. In a pinch or for bigger items like; slide outs, Fridges and AC's I hear CW Service is adequate. CW allegedly charges an hourly rate above $150 dollars an hour for service charges not covered under a warranty or service plan (per what the sales team told us based on what it cost to fix our new to us camper prior to purchase) Admittedly, C-19 & economic supply chain issues have caused significant disruptions in obtaining parts. CW accessories are often priced significantly higher than Amazon even with an elite membership so check those prices! CW Cedar Falls pre-delivery inspections are hit or miss & unless you do your own work & are mechanically inclined, I recommend taking a mechanic with you to do the inspection (new units often have just as many problems or more off the manufacturer lot as the used ones do). Unfortunately buying a camper is different than buying a car. Furthermore, things will break because when you pull a trailer it's like going through a hurricane & an earthquake at the same time. Our latest purchase was a 2021 Rockwood 5th wheel from Camping World & our experience was extremely disappointing. CW had our walkthrough scheduled at 9 am, somehow it was moved to 10 AM without us being notified. We inspected the camper & found a handful of minor issues & 1 major issue which was the super slide was not functional (hanging up on the inside wall frame). It took 4 CW techs (1 master & 3 certified in various camping mechanisms) 4 + hours to fix the super slide-out. We tested it thoroughly & are happy with how it's working now. Essentially, what should have been a 2 hour ordeal turned into an all day event due to failed processes & procedures. I did buy a used unit so I also bought the extended limited major mechanical insurance/service plan but only after I verified the deductible & that multiple other RV shops and mobile services cover my items. Furthermore, when we stopped on our way home the newly installed D ring on the slide out had migrated 5 inches towards the back of the bumper most likely because the clear silicone wasn't allowed to cure adequately. Luckily, it didn't rain & this was an easy fix. We felt the Sales manager Rob was disrespectful & unkind. We asked not to work with him after some snide comments (subjective & our emotion based opinion). Our salesman Patrick & the service department tech(s) & manager Eric (unsure of the dept.) were great. Shane in finance was fun to work with! We made sure corporate & local management knew about our recent experience. Local leadership gave us a $200 gift card for CW accessories which was a nice gesture but the aforementioned experience left a bad taste in our mouth. I feel like an informed buyer can get a good financial deal on a new and some used camper(s) at CW but you have to know how to safely navigate the process. Do your homework, all campers have issues off the manufacturers line. Pre delivery inspection processes are bound to miss things but it is really like going to the casino and pulling a one armed bandit. Also, some other camper retailers have a campground on site where you actually stay for a weekend and learn how to safely use your new rig (great for newbies). In closing I wouldn't let my friends or family buy from CW unless myself or a mechanic was there to assist inspecting said rig.... & we will probably never return. Good Luck! It's a big commitment but the memories made will last a lifetime. Lastly, if you see a 2017 Mallard M26 Vin # 5SFNB322XHE337836 they gave me a low trade in value & claimed it need $1K of work per Rob the Sales Manager. In my personal opinion I wouldn't pay much more than $16K for said unit even though it was well cared for.
