I purchased a 23b 2026 Winnebago Ekko from Lichtsinn in August, 2025. There are pros and a couple cons to share. PROS - Lichtsinn's volume of online instructional videos was helpful before the purchase and afterwards.  I flew in to Minneapolis, the pickup and drive down to Lichtsinn worked great The RV itself has been all I hoped for and more The orientation process Lichtsinn providing a loaner vehicle  The service and parts department.  I have called about 5 times over the 1st 6 months with questions and they have all been answered professionally. Some of the names I recall of people who have been very helpful:  Justin, Hannah, Cade, Stacy, Jeremy (sorry I'm not remembering everyone's names). CONS - Primarily related to the salesman I was randomly given when I first sent an email inquiry about available stock. When I brought up the idea of a 3rd party inspector (which I paid for) reviewing the vehicle before I flew in, the initial response was Reed tried to talk me out of it. When I flew in to purchase the vehicle there were a couple of items not completed from the inspection.  It appeared that Reed hadn't reviewed the inspection items.  He then tried to blame the service department. Two weeks ago I had an issue with my steps malfunctioning while I was traveling out of the country.  I called Lichtsinn towards the end of the day.  The operator forwarded me to Reed.  Reed said he would try to get someone from service.  The phone was placed on hold for 10 minutes and then finally went dead.  I called him back and left a voicemail for him.  I then called back again and Hannah (I believe she is in Accounting) was super helpful and tried to help.  I still haven't heard from Reed. For the most part Lichtsinn was reputable.  After the most recent incident it was appropriate to leave this feedback.  If you have a choice on salesperson, I would consider this. My wife and I have been browsing around for a class B van for a while now and finally settled on a Winnebago Travato as the Travato met all of our needs. We've had tents, pick-up campers and a couple of class A motorhomes and now want to try out a bit of the van life. We live in California and checked out a couple of dealers and also some online. In our search we found "The one" that was in stock at lichtsinn. I called and spoke to Mike Haugen who was our salesperson. The Levelers are still not working. Last night we started the engine and did not release the hand brake, which you supposedly need to engage before using the levelers, and the levelers on the drivers side of the RV retracted. It is still not here and we need to cancel due to life changes. They refuse to refund our $5,000 deposit and have a form they want us to sign stating we won't make any negative statements or criticisms directed at Lichtsinn. I would normally never post about something like this but this is kind of a good story. It's way too long of a post so I apologize. So back in February we bought a really nice low miles Winnebago 25ft RV coach. It was all my idea. I thought it would be a ton of fun. We paid around $80k for it. That's a lot of money but it only had 30k miles and it was a Mercedes diesel so we took the dive. Fast forward, it's been awesome. Every time we use it we have a blast. The problem is, we don't use it enough. So started thinking maybe we should sell it. I posted it on FB marketplace and said if we don't get what we want we'll just keep it and make an effort to use it more once sports are done for the summer. I posted it on facebook for $7k less than we bought it for. And we had only put on maybe 500 miles. So kind of a good deal. We get a bunch on interest on FB but before we pursue it I reach out Lichstinn RV, where we bought it from which they aggressively advertise that they are only 1 mile from the Winnebago plant. So I reach out to ask it they would have interest in buying it back. I get an email back pretty quick that says yes they would have interest. So I'm like cool let's see what they think. I know their offer is going to be low because I understand how capitalism works...and I'm okay with it. After a very eventful business trip, I get home and catch up on voicemails. And I'm floored...in my world, if you're going to make an offer like that, you rely on your dignity and you say you "I have no interest" or you don't think you can help them. This mofo offered me $50k for an RV he sold to me 4 months ago at $84k with only 500 miles added on to it. The reason I'm even posting about this is because this dealership probably deals with a lot of retirees looking for their next leg of retirement, like my Mom. Any company that would sell you a certified vehicle with their wholesome stamp of approval and then try to buy it back for $30k less than they sold only a couple hundred miles ago needs to be looked at with, as my daughter say, bombastic side eye. **WARNING** Do NOT buy here. The dumbest thing I have (up to this date) done. Is to sign a contract w/ Litschinn and gave them a $5,000 Non-refundable deposit over a year ago. I still have no RV or even a VIN number. When I first ordered my RV OVER A YEAR AGO. I was told the estimated delivery time frame was late summer. We are now in mid-Oct. I was also told that the Mercedes chassis might go up in price but it would be nominal and that Winnebago hadn't raised their prices on pending contracts- both have raised their prices, so, the price I was quoted at signing has now gone up $6,000. But, that was about 4 months ago- I'm sure it's increased by at least $10,000 by now, who knows what it will be in January or beyond. By what I was told- I should be in the RV by now, nope. The last email I received notified me of yet, another delay, the delivery was pushed back to January. But who knows when it will actually be ready. That's 15 months after I put down a non-refundable deposit. PLEASE learn from my stupidity and ask yourself these questions- if you answer "yes", to all... go for it and good luck!! 1) IF you believe- the deal they gave you is the deal you'll get- pay them a $5,000 non-refundable 2) IF you believe- In 18 months you won't find the same RV for a better or same price- gamble $5,000 non-refundable 3) IF you believe- you'll actually get your RV at the time they estimated (hahahaha)- gamble their $5,000 non-refundable deposit. 4) IF you believe- you won't have ANY life circumstances that will change- gamble a $5,000 non-refundable deposit. 5) IF you believe- the RV you want now will be the only RV and the same RV you want 18 months from now- gamble $5,000 non-refundable deposit. We are picking up the Airstream next week. We are looking at legal avenues and will contact the Better Business Bureau, post warning reviews everywhere I can. I've been told by countless RV dealers how disingenuous it is for this company to demand a non-refundable deposit, let alone, hold said $5,000 deposit for over a year +. ***Update 10/18/22*** Owner lied even in his Yelp reply to my review. He states "no timeframe was given". At the time I paid my $5,000 deposit. A time frame WAS given and that was "August'ish". I get email updates all the time that include updates including the one i posted to,prove he lied. The rest of his response was "blah-blah-blah" fillers. He did DM me and wouldn't answer any of my questions. I advise you DO NOT GIVE THEM A NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT. If you choose to do ANY business w/them, do so at your own risk & get ALL their commitments in writing. As of today, they now estimate delivery is 15 months after my deposit, likely will be many months more and many thousands more. They refuse to return my deposit. Shared texts with Ron Lichtsinn last weekend about my Class A Winnebago Motorhome not having shore power when trying to plug in. He couldn't guarantee to fix it on short notice but said to bring it by Monday & they would try to troubleshoot it. When I showed up, not only did Justin Overland resolve my power issue, but he also found out why my gas water heater was not lighting. Shined up the connectors by plugging it in multiple times which resolved the issue. No charge by the way for that fix! I was out of there in 2 hours. Highly recommend for all your RV Needs!! Be very wary in buying anything used! They will tell you that the vehicle you buy has been thoroughly, tested, & repaired before you take possession. They are less than honest since they do not tell you that they do nothing to check the engine, transmission, any mechanicals ahead of the sleeping quarters. Do not put any money down until you have fully inspected any used vehicle. They will not check or change any fluids. You may find that advertised parts have been stripped from the vehicle! Contacting Ron L about any concerns is a waste of time. He is full of excuses! They will tell you that you will have to wait to get a used vehicle until it has been thoroughly inspected. Beware, you may find that things are missing, the vehicle is filthy, that it appears nothing was done! You will be told that they will spend time going over the vehicle, but you will find they can't answer questions such as why is there no bathroom fan, or where is an item that was advertised! This whole exercise appears to be only meant to sell you additional items from there store. They do not treat it like you would expect in buying a used car. The owners answer is what do you expect from a used vehicle! Anyway, beware of there sales practices if buying a used vehicle. I put my non-refundable $5000 down with the promise of an RV in 10 months. Ten months came and went and no RV. When I pointed out that I had told them in writing that I expected them to live up to their word months ago and I complained enough they eventually offered me a unit that someone else had turned down and which was significantly different from my order. AND IT GETS BETTER. I had to pay to modify the unit back to what I had initially ordered. They conveniently forgot to mention that there was a recall on the Mercedes engine with an unknown time frame to repair. I found that out from another dealer. AND they wanted me TO PAY FOR THE INSURANCE WHILE THE UNIT SAT OUTSIDE IN THEIR LOT WAITING FOR REPAIR. I learned a $5000 lesson. I wouldn't buy anything from these crooks under any circumstances and I wouldn't believe anything they told me either. SAVE YOUR MONEY and go somewhere else. While I was waiting for these jokers to build my motorhome I found 4 others essentially identical for sale (new) by other dealers all of whom warned me about Lichtsinn. But it was too late for me. Your service department Andrews is really rude, inpatient and unprofessional. I just bought a Winnebago 24J and called in to see if there's any upgrades. Well, it's a great sign to any businesses, I'd like to spend my money with you! Do you know what he said, there are a bunch of things you can do, I'm not sure what you want. I don't disagree, Andrews is right. When I ask about Andrews' opinion, he always focus on negativity. He said, I have no opinion, otherwise you would blame me. Really!!! When I was talking about battery options. I was calling this advisor, and you have nothing to advise? because.... You don't want to be blamed? 6V vs 12V, I don't know it's up to you, brand? It's up to you, you need to choose which brand, I don't know, don't blame me afterwards. So are you running like Walmart? That I make my own selections, and you tripple the price and do the work? Beyond this, he always give me a feeling that he's so busy and he doesn't have the time even talking to you. The RV was used, and I ask Andrews, do I need an inspection? Over the top, the best purchasing experience my husband and I have ever had at any dealership for any vehicle either of us has ever purchased. No kidding. This place deserves this kind of glowing review. We don't live in Iowa, but we felt that it was worth it to purchase an RV at Lichtsinn. We wanted to ensure that the Winnebago Revel we are purchasing had not been towing a delivery driver's vehicle behind it all the way to Seattle, as we learned from our local dealership often happens with these small van-sized RVs even though the recommended tow weight is only 5,000 lbs. Since this would be against the Mercedes Benz Sprinter manufacturer's recommendation for lifetime performance of the our new RV, we wanted to take care of our investment. Well I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I just went to look at some class B's. I asked if we could run the generator as it's the new Cummins 2800i which is much quieter. So on one unit (a new one) the generator wouldn't start. On a 2nd unit (also new) the gen started, ran for a couple of minutes, then died. They do claim that they'll fix everything on the RV before you take delivery but call me skeptical. I get the impression they really don't pay much attention to detail. You are a liar , We requested pricing for a 2021 Revel and were told that one was available in two weeks because of a cancellation but the price was $180 K or we could wait till March and the price for a 2021 Revel would be $135 K. I have been coming to this dealership, first to purchase and later to get my Motorhome service visits and needed repairs for over 5 years. This despite the large distances needed to get here. I initially purchased in 2019 , while living in Connecticut, after finding this dealership online. Over the years my experiences elsewhere made me only want to travel back to Iowa to get the reassurance of top notch honest service and repair work, even when living full time in the RV while I traversed the continent the past 2 years. Ron called me back the very next day, he was very friendly extremely knowledgeable and gave me a few options to try regarding my satellite dish. Honestly he's been the only person to give me a few ideas to try compared to all the other places I've called. Also his staff is very friendly and the parts department is awesome, all you have to do is give them your VIN number of your coach and they will tell you exactly what part you need. We have been back twice for help in understanding the Truma furnace and water heater. But, thanks to your EXCELLENT YouTube demonstrations of both winterizing and de-winterizing, we finally figured out the problem--the bypass to the water heater was never opened, thus no hot water. A month and a half ago I purchase a used coach from Lichtsinn from their sales rep Abby. Shortly after I picked it up, I realized the black tanks were full and smelled rancid, and the first night we also discovered the shower head was busted and the wiper blades was broken. In less than 60 days, we have discovered a roof leak, the propane tanks are leaking, and the engine is running extremely rough and cutting out, leaving us broken down on the side of the road with no engine and no generator (propane). We called Lichtsinn RV and the sales manager, Jason Burchoff, states that nothing but the propane will be covered under their 60 day warranty. He states that the 60 day warranty only covers components in the "house" portion of the coach. This has been a horrible buying experience from this dealership. I am now out of pocket on a coach they were supposed to do a 100 point inspection on. The vehicle was sold to us 12 days out of service, which I guess they missed during their 100 point inspection. Based on my current situation, I am guessing that was not part of the 100 point inspection. My husband is a disabled veteran, and the stress of this ordeal is absolutely uncalled for. We are currently waiting for a flatbed truck to come take us to the nearest MB dealer. We would never consider recommending this place to anyone. 4K miles and we are stranded in rainy Florida without propane or an engine and a leaking roof on a holiday weekend on our first trip out in our coach since bringing it home. read more

We encountered many problems with our 2019 Winnebago Era on our first long trip, which started in January 2019. We finally decided to completely change our route and make a thousand mile detour to Lichtsinn RV, where we had bought the vehicle. We hoped that we would receive competent and reliable service there. We had to leave the southern states and ended up dealing with weeks of winter storms, freezing weather, thunderstorms and generally lousy conditions, both on the way to Lichtsinn and after leaving there. Given the service we received we're particularly disappointed in both the dealership and Winnebago. These were the problems: 1. Air conditioner completely failed to cool the RV. Lichtsinn adjusted distribution louvers and fixed defective controls. 2. Novakool refrigerator failed to maintain a steady temperature. I pointed out to Lichtsinn's service tech that I couldn't find a lower vent to provide airflow, as required for this refrigerator. After lengthy debate -- he insisted everything was dandy and built just right -- the tech finally found a diagram on the Winnebago site. Turns out Winnebago had failed to cut a large hole and install the required ventilation for the refrigerator. Lichtsinn cut a vent for the refrigerator. The refrigerator still fails to maintain a consistent low temperature. What else did Winnebago fail to do to provide adequate ventilation? And there are several scratches on the refrigerator door. 3. Awning would not open. Lichtsinn made some ineffectual adjustment and explained that we'd have to pull or hit the casing every time we wanted to open the awning. 4. Toilet fresh water connection sometimes leaked when the toilet was flushed Lichtsinn said they repaired this. The toilet water flush line still leaks. 5. The water pump would occasionally run momentarily when there had been no demand. This suggested to me that there might be a leak. The pump also had begun to run and not turn off, even when there had been no demand. Lichtsinn replaced the pump. They chose not to install the vibration dampening mounts I requested, or do anything else to minimize pump vibrations, as I had asked. The pump still runs momentarily. It would appear that Lichtsinn did not look for a leak in the system. 6. Bath heat vent provided no heat. Lichtsinn said this was a function of the way Winnebago ran a very long duct to the location. Lichtsinn said there was nothing they could do. 7. Door and other squeaks and rattles: In several cases Lichtsinn's techs said they could not replicate the noises that have annoyed us for thousands of miles. I would then move something or step on something and produce the noise. A couple of times, Justin, the Service Consultant, would look at me as if he was completely unable to hear the noise. Eventually Lichtsinn replaced some hinges on a bathroom door and a cabinet door. The squeaks and rattles are all present. But now the two doors are installed out of alignment with the adjacent doors. 8. Front ceiling lights flickered on and off. Lichtsinn found and repaired a defective electrical connection. 9. One MCD shade was broken (the mechanism is cheap plastic). Lichsinn repaired this. A second MCD shade rolled up very slowly, and then only if helped by "pushing" the shade up by hand. Lichtsinn's Service Consultant gave us a really hard time about this, insisting that the shade worked fine. (Why argue??) He finally agreed to tighten the mechanism. A few days later the shade worked more poorly than ever. 10. The side screen door is extremely difficult to open and close. Lichtsinn was unable to suggest or provide a solution or improvement. I recently attached a standard kitchen cabinet handle to the leading edge of the door so that it could be raised slightly when opening or closing. This has substantially improved function. Too bad Winnebago or Lichtsinn couldn't have thought of this. Bottom line: Our purchase experience from Lichtsinn was quite good. I would never return there for service of any kind. Oh -- and our vehicle was not ready when promised, so we had to stay in the area another day and wait for Lichtsinn to try and repair their repairs. read more

I purchased my Winnebago View from Lichtsinn Motors in October of 2013. During my negotiations, I was told that one of the main benefits of me purchasing my new motorhome from Lichtsinn Motors, was that I would get a 'true' 2014 version - the Mercedes Benz Sprinter chassis and the motorhome would both be 2014, unlike what their competitors were offering - 2014 motorhome on a 2013 chassis. When I got my new rig home and went to finalize my insurance on it, my insurance man informed me they could not insure my brand new Winnebago View because there were issues regarding the VIN. My insurance company discovered that my Mercedes Benz Sprinter chassis was built in November of 2012. Once they finally figured that out, they were able to correct the data and rewrite my insurance policy reflecting this information and insure my motorhome. My insurance man pointed out to me that Lichtsinn Motors misinformed (lied) to me. Further, during my negotiations, every time Lichtsinn Motors emailed me an updated quote - every time - it had the wrong (higher) price than the previous email, which then needed to be pointed out by me and then corrected. The rig was not clean when I picked it up. It was obviously given a quick careless onceover, but not nearly as clean as I expected of a $115,000 motorhome. The orientation was rushed and a joke. I would not recommend Lichtsinn Motors to my friends. read more

Just had my coach washed there. After I left, I discovered that there were many areas that were still dirty. They say that they will scrub the exterior but they obviously did not touch several areas around the coach. It was after hours so I emailed both the service dept and the owner asking for a rewash or a credit, and included photos of dirty areas. I bought a Winnebago View from Lichtsinn earlier this year. I live in CT and I traveled all the way to Iowa to buy from Lichtsinn. It is a long way to go for an RV that I could have bought here in CT. Let me tell you why I traveled so far to buy this RV. I started my search for an RV a few years back and in the process came across Lichtsinn via their wonderful YouTube video series; if you have not seen it, go find it. I looked at RV's locally and in a radius of about 150 miles from my home. I found a number of dealers that I could have bought from. One of the dealers I caught telling lies, one I found myself telling them what the features of the RV were, one just did not return my calls, and one did not seem like they could handle the solar install that I wanted from the dealer at the time of purchase. In the end, the choice was pretty simple; I could buy locally and get worse service, or travel to Iowa and do better. I chose the latter. Lichtsinn did not let me down. Easy to love a place with everything goes as planned. The true test of an establishment is how they deal with issues. We had a few issues that came up on a purchase of used Winnebago...they team and Lichtsinn exceeded expectations. Very difficult and tricky sales staff to deal with .
