Being a VW owner in central Iowa limits your options for warranty work. After having some sour…read moreexperiences with the dealership in Des Moines, I took my car up to Mason City to have recall work done. They were very quick, honest and accommodating in the fact that I had to drive my car and hour and take time off work to have repairs done. It's a import dealership with a real home-town feel. I really felt that they made an effort to ensure my satisfaction and were upfront with me about recalls on my vehicle. If you are enamored with the thrill that is Fahrvergnügen and happen to live in central Iowa, I would suggest you buy and maintain your vehicle here.

Was having some sunroof issues with my 2011 jetta and took it in to have it looked into. Get a call at 11am saying the part was not in yet, called back at 11:30 and they had just gotten the part in, however he informed me the mechanic would be taking his hour lunch break. A little after 2 and still no call so I got a ride to the dealership, everyone was very friendly however the car was still not done and wouldn't be for at least another half an hour. Couldn't wait any longer so I am forced to leave my car over the weekend. I am just wonder how it takes nearly 3 days to fix a sunroof seal? I normally do all of my own repairs, but was in a bind as it was rainy all week and didn't have a garage to park the car in. I'm incredibly unhappy with the way this was handled. Not to mention it was $433 for a new rubber seal. I will not be making the mistake of taking my car here again and will stick to fixing it in my drive way and ordering parts online for half the price.

I brought my car in for oil change on a Saturday b/c I had good luck with this dealership before…read more I had to prompt kid at the service desk to have car vacuumed and washed (both are supposed to be a courtesy for buying oil change). I got halfway home and realized my change, chap stick, and new pack of gum were gone. Nice. I went back to dealership to retrieve my personal possessions and was told "they were in the driver's side door" which was b.s. -- they were not. The kid who cleaned the car was standing there and had a guilty look on his face. Busted! I'm a mom -- I know guilt when I see it. Doubt I'll be back. Sad. UPDATE: Scott Deetz from MC Ford called me within minutes of my review post to get me to change my online review. They don't want a bad review, he said, "because it's not fair." I told him what's not fair is having $10 worth of stuff stolen, being lied to, and now he wants to make ME the bad guy?? WTF! I told him he needed to talk with his staff, train them to better serve their customers, and eliminate the ones that steal. He wanted me to come BACK to the dealership to "discuss" my "scathing review." As if that will make it right. His request almost sounded like a call to the principal's office. lol. As if ANYONE in their right mind would go to that. So he kept talking...and talking...and talking. Never have I heard anyone talk more without saying ANYTHING than Scott Deetz. He certainly loves the sound of his own voice. Yet he offered NO RESOLUTION in the twelve minute conversation so I told him that and ended the call. He called back saying "he was sorry we were somehow disconnected" when he knew full well I terminated the call due to his poor resolution skills and ineffective leadership. He offered no apology, did not accept responsibility, and offered no resolution to the problem. I want NOTHING more to do with this dealership. Period. I definitely will not be back.

We purchased our used Escape from Lake Chevrolet Pritchard's. We decided to buy from Pritchard's…read moresince they were local and due to their reliability statement on their website. "Reliability - From used SUVs to used trucks to used cars for sale, every pre-owned vehicle on our lot has successfully passed our stringent inspection process, ensuring maximum pre-owned quality." We had also purchased the Pritchard's Promise Plus, which gives a discount after x amount of oil changes. After driving the vehicle for just over 3 months and no oil lights coming on, we took the vehicle in for the oil change. When we started to drive it the next week, we had white smoking coming from the exhaust. We took it in and they said a little oil spilled over and that it is burning off. After 3 weeks of having white smoke coming from the exhaust and the vehicle was sputtering, we took it back and they said that valve cover gaskets needed to be replaced along with all 4 spark plugs due to oil being on these parts. While doing these repairs, the fuel rail needed to be removed and the fuel injectors were stuck and damaged. We had to pay for all 4 fuel injectors to be replaced as well as the valve cover gaskets and spark plug replacements. When asked if this damage stemmed from overfilling on the oil change, the mechanic emphatically denied this and said this is what happens when you purchase used vehicles. We drove the vehicle off the lot again and began having more issues and had to take it back 10 days later. We were told that we needed to replace the engine. This is when I asked Pritchard's to stop touching my vehicle and had it towed to a local trusted mechanic. After they looked at the vehicle, they said that the issue was not the engine and that the timing belt and water pump needed to be replaced. We replaced these items and paid for these repairs as well. This fixed the vehicle for over 7 months. Now we started having the engine light coming on again, and our mechanic stated that we need to have the head gaskets and cylinder heads replaced. We have spent more money on this vehicle than it is worth and are now upside down on the vehicle with the loan from the bank. Since all of these issues started after receiving an oil change from Pritchard's, I would like the Escape to be replaced or repaired at no charge to me. This vehicle was going to be my daughter's safe reliable American made car that she used at college and as she started out her young adult life. I told her that you can rely on a Ford because it is an American made vehicle. My veteran husband and I have owned numerous Fords throughout our marriage and have never had these types of issues arise before with any of our other vehicles.
