This Winn-Dixie is located on the far west end of Panama City Beach and sits at the corner of Front Beach and Back Beach/98. Since there is no Kroger around, Winn-Dixie is my go-to spot for groceries on my trips to the beach. They have a similar loyalty program and even if you don't have an account, the cashiers will usually scan the comp card so you can take advantage of the program and discounts, so make sure you ask upon check out! Parking is abundant and all the spots are dedicated to the store itself, this is due to it sitting alone instead of being in a shopping center. Over the past few years they did go through a renovation and even after a few years, the store is still well maintained. It is also a clean store, inside and out. This could be because they are in a quieter part of the beach, which limits the customers unlike its sister store that is located just a few miles down Front Beach Road. Service is hit and miss at this location, truthfully at all Winn-Dixie's. I have done self check more than registers here and that is not by accident. Normally the cashiers have kind of a stinky attitude, so I just scan my donuts and beer by myself and continue my day from there. Overall, this Winn-Dixie is decent spot in a good, quiet and less travelled location. I will certainly go out of my way a few miles to visit this particular Winn-Dixie when the need arises! read more

I came to the store needing help about my propane which the Rhino company advised me since the tank is defective and to go yo nearest dealer to get it replaced. I was told to wait outside and I waited and no obe came so I went back in to check. A sales associate tried to help me but she was not sure of she can exchange my tank because she said it was empty. I told her there is still half in there based on the weight. She then told me that she needed a manager so after a few minutes later the manager came and told me that she is not able to exchange it and I have to pay. I told her what Rhino company adviesed me but she insisted that it was empty before lifting it and confirming that it was really empty. I explained to her that it was defective and I cannot open it and was advised by the gas tank company to ask for repalcemement but the manager won't listen to me and was rude. I wonder why she was given such position if she have bery poor customer relations skills So disappointing about my experience and at the store. read more

This store either needs new management or hire employees that care!!! This is NOT the first time I have had this problem at this store!!!! I wanted some lunch meat at the deli and the lady working behind the counter never said I'll be with in a minute while walking back and forth behind the counter for a extended period and she looked at me!!! Not good business!!! We are in our 60's and try to get in and out as fast as possible during this Pandemic!!! Guess we'll have to spend a little extra and shop at Public's. I went to this store this morning and the employees weren't wearing masks, most shoppers weren't wearing masks and no signs of them disinfecting carts. Today FL announced over 4,000 new cases of the virus! Will not be going back here again. I'll take my business to Publix where they are taking this virus seriously. read more

New remodel looks beautiful. Never too crowded and good service. Despite the bad reviews from 5 years ago I really recommend this store.

I prefer Publix but Winn-Dixie just carries many items that Publix does not. Really the only thing this Winn-Dixie really fails at is staffing. Saturday evening rush and only 2 regular lanes open vs Publix had ALL lanes open this evening. Attention management.... A correctly staffed store = happier customers and staff. Heck I even saw the manager running around Winn-Dixie tonight like a chicken with his head cut off trying to assist all departments and the front service section. We really miss the old staff, they've retired.Have been getting prescriptions from here for 15 years. Now they're useless. They sit on fax prescriptions for hours. Will not even go check to see if the prescription is there so you dont have to keep bugging the doctor. Will not use them again. Rude. MaryAne at the first register couldn't look up from her cell phone to greet me. She asked me how I was doing twice, even though I firmly answered her the first time she asked. She was too busy with the "minors" discussing break times. I spend a thousand a month in here easily. Past few times, service has been lack luster. I've been shopping at this location for about ?7 years?. The store is usually pretty clean and staff have always been friendly and able to assist. But.....lately the store has really gone down hill. Dirty floors, produce dept is getting to the point you have to ask if anything fresher in the back. So many regular items are being taken off the shelves. Things we've bought specific at this location. We've asked for the items to be brought back and we were told, "if it's in the book we will order" or "not a problem, I'm ordering right now so I'll add it to it" (never happened) Staff were let go due to hours, budget, cutbacks....whatever. So many honest, hardworking people given ultimatum. Horrible! New staff at this location are not American. Don't get me wrong, I have many friends of different race. But to throw these young people in with no training and expect them to know their jobs, not except able. Feel bad for them and the things I've heard regular staff say and treat them, I think they are feeling threatened and upset. Hard to understand and no clue really what things are. They have to get a regular staff person to help. I'm sorry but regular customers who've shopped loyally at WD, deserve to be treated better. Get in, get what you need, and go home. I spend about $350-500 a week at this location. Thinking I'm going to switch to PUBLIX. What happened? Such a let down..... read more
