Pretty big place, affordable but the one thing I dislike about this place was the stickers that they have that say BOGO or buy 2/$6 or any sort aren't even applied to at the check out. As well the labeling for the meats needs to be a clearer instruction when I buy meat I look for one price but this place has 2-4 different prices on the meat. I prefer Publix but decided to give this place a try maybe I'll just stick to Publix as they truly live up to all BOGO and applied the discount on the certain products that are being purchase ‍ read more

Went to deli and saw rotisserie was looking done. Not rolling. Attentant told me about 20 min and i waited for 15 min while he was setting up deli station. Asked him that since it was done coukd he get me a chicken and he said no it woukd come out at 11 ( another 15 min). Asked Manager if she could help him get me a chicken because i was on break and had to return but she said no. I guess the attendant rules. Bet if it was his business he would have grabbed it in a minute and finished setting up 2 min later. read more

I never knew you could get a glass of wine at Winn-Dixie. We stopped in to get a few things and saw a bar, a pizza place, sushi, tables to eat at & a real bar to have a drink at with wine, sangria, beer & margaritas. Almost like the Whole Foods that was in Orlando before they were bought out by Amazon minus the massages. They also have coffee and wings & ribs. You can sit & enjoy it. What a great idea. read more

If you grew up in Jacksonville like me in the 80s/90s, Winn Dixie had a stigma about it. It was an old dirty store you mostly shopped at if you needed something and Publix wasn't nearby or if W-D had something on sale. Forget those thoughts about this store since it's very modern and clean and I was really impressed. Publix across the street was packed and out of frozen hash browns so we went here hoping they'd somehow have some. We snagged the last two bags and there was barely anyone in the store despite the crowd at Publix. Publix is still my first choice but this Winn Dixie is clean and modern and I wouldn't hesitate to stop here if I needed something or even to do some shopping if I wasn't wanting to deal with the Publix crowds. read more

Food court always underwhelms me. Not sure why they don't try to run it better. No ice, you have to hunt for utensils, no garbage pail.

Two days before Christmas on Dec 23 2021, after giving me the COVID vaccine, pharmacist Sarah withheld my immunizations card and drivers license. She went on to assist two white male customers while I watched. Sarah made eye contact with me during this time. Eventually, one of the two aforementioned customers said I had been waiting for a while (thank you stranger) and only then was I handed my documents. I understand mistakes happen, however, no apology was offered until after I demanded an explanation. In hindsight, stupid me for being so patient and understanding. I will not return to this Winn Dixie due to this pharmacist's racial discrimination. On the plus side, pharmacist Yelena Zhukova from an earlier visit was incredibly professional. I went so far as to dedicate a thank you note to her on my LinkedIn page on Thanksgiving Day. I tagged Winn-Dixie's business page on that post. read more

Let me say "Best Wings in Town". I've been trying to find a restaurant with a good price on wings and great quality. I know that during the pandemic places are having a problem getting product so quality can be a bit of an issue. But, I've been getting wings at the Winn-Dixie deli for years now and will continue to go back just for the wings. * There are usually 5 or more flavors * They have a bucket option that's usually on sale for $15.99. I can usually fit 2 1/2 to 3 lbs pounds in the bucket. I do spend time stacking them to Mae this happen :-). * I love the Teriyaki and BBQ flavors. They usually have ranch and salt & vinegar flavors (dry rub) which are also very good. * The wings are usually larger wings so they are very meaty which I love. I know others will say that Publix has good wings but they don't have the selection that you will find here. read more

This is now my local Winn-Dixie and I could not be happier. I grew up going to Winn-Dixie for their competitive prices and eventually got my first job ever at the one I grew up near. However, going into adulthood and being a Florida native I started going to their rival... I don't need to mention the name. HOWEVER, this Winn-Dixie is AMAZING!!!! There's only a few like this in Florida and there just so happens to be one in Jacksonville. They have fantastic ready-to-eat section, a huuuge beer and wine selection, fresh and smoked meats, cheese, sushi, and a whole section designed to organic food with a nice vegan/vegetarian selection. Well today, Winn-Dixie has exceeded all of my expectations. They opened a freaking BAR inside the store so now you can literally "sip n' shop." Just take all of my money now!!! I just so happen to stumble in today after work to their grand opening, which was absolutely insane. If you weren't a fan of Winn-Dixie before, just take a stop at this location and I PROMISE your mind will be changed! read more

After coming into this Winn-Dixie I can see why they caught the flag ship of the grocery chain. This store was worth the drive because the cleanliness and the customer service. The Winn-Dixie on old kings road and Baymeadows needs to take note that it is possible to have a grocery store with extremely clean floors as noted in the pictures and have staff who genuinely say hello while looking you in the eye and asking you do you need anything or could I hope you find something? The store was in pristine condition well stocked and very warm and friendly. This place is worth the drive . Thank you for making this a positive experience and worth the drive. read more

5 stars all the way!! This new remodeled Winn-Dixie is by far the nicest one I have ever been to! They combine the experience of shopping in a high end grocery store (Whole Foods, Fresh Market) but with the same low prices of a traditional Winn Dixie! I love it, best of both worlds! They have a really nice deli, prepared foods section, doughnut bar, bakery, coffee bar, floral section, and a sitting area for you to eat in there too! This is not your grandmother's Winn Dixie. This is not even your mother's Winn Dixie. This is the flagship store in Jacksonville and it looks it. This location opened many years ago but revenue could not justify the high rent so they ended up closing shop. Fast forward a few years later and they have reopened with a whole new look and attitude. I had heard good things about this store but since this is not my side of town I wasn't about to drive out of my way to check out a grocery store. We happened to be in the area so we stopped in for some non-perishables just to check it out. There happened to be an event going on and we caught the tail end of it. Apparently it was their 1 year anniversary of reopening so the place was full of employees. We missed out on the cake and festivities but there was still a buzz in the store of a lot of employees and what was left of those customers who came to celebrate. This store is simply gorgeous and you WILL be pleasantly surprised when you walk into this store. If I lived in the area, the Publix across the street would be an afterthought. Unfortunately not all WDs are created equal as we all know so the brand still suffers in their hometown against the more consistent Lakeland-headquartered Publix. read more

This location is a bit out of the way for me- so I make serious shopping lists once a week and knock it out in one go. Great for bogo's and I love their meat sales! I even had a meat guy tell me they smoke meats for you! Buy the meat and there is a nominal charge! This store is massive and has an adjacent liquor store- thank you very much. The layout is a bit different, but every store is. The sprawling store doesn't lack for anything- makes you feel like you are shopping in one of those high-end, fancy grocery stores, except with normal prices. I have made this my grocery store of choice since moving to Jacksonville. They have a wide variety of items including great meat, cheeses and beer or wine. The meat is fresh and some of the best you can throw on the grill. I have bought everything from everyday groceries to sushi, oven baked pizza and flowers. I normally go in and buy fresh flowers weekly. I have also frequented the attached Winn Dixie liquors and the prices can't be beat. I was used to a great Winn Dixie where I moved from although it was a bit of a drive. This store is minutes from where I live and I probably go in 2-3 times a week. read more

This store opened a as concept store before the whole Harvey's-for-broke-people thing. It very much so put you in the mind of higher end grocery. Vegetables are snack neatly, departments are appealing, and the food area is pretty reliable. Between freshly made sushi, the sales bar, thewing bar, hot bar, pizza and sub station, soup station, and the dessert and bread station, they are winning!! I tend to visit this location at lunch for the bar. I get a $6 meal with and entree and 2 sides. If you eat meat, the ribs, the chicken, and then turkey are usual to die for. The veggies and sides can use some serious tweaking. One more tidbit, the rotesserie chicken salad and Waldorf salad in the deli are amazing. read more

Forget everything you think you know about Winn Dixie because the new Baymeadows location is nothing like any other WD stores I've been to before. It is niiiice! Every time I'm here, I feel like might have accidentally walked into a Whole Foods instead. This is seriously my favorite grocery store. First of all, I love their smaller cart option for the lighter grocery shopping days - don't worry, the standard full-sized carts are still there too. Also, they have little miniature carts for kids, which is just adorable. This store regularly has live music just inside the entrance - yes, you read that right - on multiple occasions, (like this past Friday) I walked in to see someone playing the guitar and singing. Also, they regularly have wine and cheese tastings. How fun is that?! And speaking of wine, they always have the best deals! I have tried many great pricier wines thanks to them constantly having BOGO deals - the higher price tag is much easier to justify when you are getting two bottles for the price of one. On top of that, they have a permanent deal of 10% off when you buy four bottles or more - and yes, that deal can be combined with the other sales. Go stock up! I have also found a couple of products here that have become regulars on my shopping lists, and I have not been able to find them at other grocery stores. Try frozen Sukhi's tikka masala - tastes flavorful enough to make me feel like I'm eating takeout from an actual Indian restaurant AND it comes with naan. Winn Dixie's hot bar definitely deserves a mention as well. It is HUGE and full of options from pizza to sushi to chicken and ribs and all the tasty sides. Now get this - my co-worker told me that he got a turkey here for Thanksgiving, and Winn Dixie smoked it for him for free! And lastly, make sure to sign up for their free rewards card. Last time I was here, I forgot to give my phone number before I was checking out (great option for people like me that will never remember to bring the actual card with them), and was a little surprised when I heard how high my total was. When the cashier entered my number at the end, it was literally a $45 difference! I seriously can't say enough great things about this store. There, a good selection of craft beers and wines are available on tap for your enjoyment at very reasonable prices (and a no tipping policy!) and you can use Reward Points! This is by far my favorite store in town. I basically drive pst a wal mart neighborhood market and two publix's to get to it. I will have to try out the Winn Dixie closer to the beach that now has a sip and shop concept similar to luckys. But this store is great! There is always somebody around to help you, and they do it in a friendly manner and with a smile. The sushi is amazing and they are always doing sampling's. I've gone in and seen kid events also. Pizza making, cookie decorating and even a magician at one point. Old school shoppers will remember them being know for their beef, they still are. But I always find great deals on all of their meats. This will be my store until the end of time! read more

I officially love this store! I usually go here for regular grocery shopping since I get fuel discounts every time I buy something. Today I just bought fried chicken from their deli section and asked the guy if I could get some gravy with my chicken and he gave me some. No questions asked, no weird looks or anything. My husband said that Winn Dixie's ain't as good as Publix, but this one is an exception. I get fuel rewards, free gravy, and they also take coupons. What more could I ask for? read more

Simply amazing. This store has the high end feel of a Fresh Market with the economy prices I have come to expect from Winn Dixie. The aisles are wide and the store os well lit and flooded with natural light. The staff is also amazing. All of the employees I encountered seemed to really enjoy their job. Big ups to the management staff for fostering that sense of caring. The store includes an awesome bakery, deli, seafood department, sushi bar and all at great prices. Another thing tha makes this store n6uve is the in-store cafe. It encorages you to make the grocery store what it ine time was.......a gathering place for the community. I was in the area and ran thru to grab an item and was immediately taken back and re examined the name on the door as this was way different than any WInn Dixie I had been in! I was so intrigued and really wanted to take a tour but had limited time. The place lit up with the bold red on the walls and the large letters. I noticed the meat guy in the back had a sombrero hat on per Cinco de Mayo and knew this must be a fun place to work! If other WD's were like this I would defiantly shop their name more often! We stopped in this Winn Dixie location while waiting for a table to open at Timwah's, and were completely and utterly blown away. We'd never seen a Winn Dixie look like this. I almost walked back outside and checked the sign! Just outside the front door, staff members were grilling meats on a barbecue for Labor Day weekend. Haven't seen a W/D do that before. The store layout was pleasantly open and warmly lit, and the floor tiles were clean. Colorful vegetables and fruits were attractively and prominently displayed near the front of the store. The deli section, located at the back central portion of the store, is the centerpiece. Not only did they have a wide selection of meat and cheeses, but as you look up behind the counter, against the back wall on display were wheels of cheese and sausages. It didn't matter to me if they were real or display models, what it told me was that management actually cared about creating a memorable experience for the customer, and not only concerned about slicing and slinging meat to make money. This store is too far from home to become a regular experience for us. However, I will say, if our local Winn Dixie's looked like this location, they'd certainly have a lot more of our business. read more

This location closed 5 years ago and has just been completely remodeled and reopened as one of the first with all of Winn-Dixie's new concepts in play. I read an article about the opening and was very excited to come take a look. This store is focused on the grab and go healthy options. It also has nearly double the wine selection of a typical Winn-Dixie. (1000 vs 600) I opted to take advantage of their grab and go Seafood. You get your choose of 1/2 lb of veggies and a huge portion of fish (COD, catfish, tilapia, stuffed salmon etc) or shrimp of your choice, they will even add butter, seasoning and cook it for you while you shop! Or you can take them home to cook in the microwave for 3 min or bake for 12min right in the bag. Only $6! I chose the stuffed salmon with asparagus and roasted potatoes, I also had them cook it for me. It was perfect, not dry at all. Over 1 lb of food in total, super fresh and healthy for only $6 in less than 15 minutes. I can't say how impressed I am. This will definitely be my go to stop on my way home when I don't feel like cooking dinner. read more

I was told to visit this recently opened location and see their new direction they are taking their stores. I was so impressed upon walking in as center store was an organic foods section and a fine wine section. The perimeter of the store is surrounded by a cheese monger section, fresh baked goods, a fish section, a deli, meats and very nice produce section with some of the veggies on ice rather than refrigeration. The prices were fair and the quality of the sliced fruits was exceptional. We were so impressed we decided to stay and dine in their food, pizza, coffee desert area. I had a salad made with mixed greens, smoked chicken and tomatoes. The smoked chicken was moist and flavorful and the greens were fresh. I wished my grocery store back home was as nice, fair priced and decorated so nicely with the high ceilings. Stop by this inviting grocery store. read more

The minute I walked into this store I had to walk back out and look at the sign to make sure I was in a Winn-Dixie! This store is absolutely gorgeous and is so big and organized. They offer so many fresh items that I have not seen in any other Winn-Dixie. First, they have a fresh salad bar, build your own salad and they offer delicious fresh protein toppings(salmon, chicken, fried chicken). Second, they have a coffee bar! I REPEAT, A COFFEE BAR! I mean what is better than sipping on a fresh cup of coffee while grocery shopping? Third, their bakery offers fresh cakes, pastries and extra large cupcakes! Their organic section is far larger than any other Winn-Dixie I have ever visited. They also offer fresh subs that they custom make for you. All of their fresh vegetables are on ice and are chilled.Their customer service was outstanding, everywhere I went I had someone asking if I needed any help. This Winn-Dixie is like no other in the area. I'm new to the Winn-Dixie grocery store chain so I had no idea they had a store that reminds me of Whole Foods. Ok, not as organic of course but I'm pretty impressed with this one! Every time I walk in, employees are all over the place ready to assist or just restocking shelves. That's why they never seem to be out of products. Their vegetable and fruit sections are so organized and set up beautifully and they are fresh! As soon as you walk in, to the right you have a hot food place where you can buy food and eat it there in their cafe-style setting. They have a donut making section. Yes, I'm always talking about donuts and coffee. They have a bread section and not just a bread aisle. They have a gourmet cheese and meat section. They even had a few tasting stations like Costco's where you can sample some products. Overall they just have more selections and their checkout lines are never long! Whoever runs this grocery store does a phenomenal job!!! Oh and even the parking lot is clean of shopping carts that lazy people do not put up!
