While visiting Ft. Walton Beach we found this Winn-Dixie to be a great store. The store from the outside isn't that impressive, but inside the store is very clean and the prices are way better than that of Publix on the same items. The staff here was super friendly. I am not a Winn-Dixie card holder, and I did not want to sign up for one; so the cashier was kind of enough to let me get the card holder prices without a card. read more

Let me start by saying, I really love WinnDixie. Especially this store. It's alway clean and the staff is always courteous and they make you want to shop there. I have one complaint,however, and it is not specifically to this location. My complaint is they done away with the wine bags. Winn-Dixie is very good about having wine on sale, and having the wine bags makes it much easier to transport your wine from the store to the car, especially when you purchased several bottles at one time. Now, when you purchase multiple bottles of wine, they are placed in typical plastic bags. Needless to say that makes It extremely difficult transporting the wine from the store to your car. This is absolutely the worst Winn-Dixie in Northwest Florida. Six months ago it was a pretty good place to shop and I don't know what happened. I think they changed managers because they have a female manager I've never seen before, but one that fits in any Halloween scenario. My last three visits have been miserable because of her. Twice, I've had that manager come up, screaming at the clerk checking me out, making us all uncomfortable. I might check it out again in six months or so but for now I'll drive an extra couple of miles to shop in a more expensive grocery store where the experience is pleasant and not distraught because of an emotionally charged manager . read more

They are incredibly medically neglectful. When I say medically neglectful I mean they NEVER come through in any circumstance. If you have s serious condition DO NOT expect this pharmacy will take care of you. They make you feel bad when you attempt to fill your script, they WILL NOT fill it, they will give some excuse as why they can't do their job and take care of THEIR patient nor do they CARE about their patient. I'm a healthcare practitioner at the doctorate level and I never in a million years treat MY PATIENTS like absolute trash. I have been coming to this junk pharmacy since Sept 29th, 2018 because it is walking distance from my house, but that is what I get for being LAZY! Proximity DOES NOT BREED FONDNESS! DO NOT COUNT ON THEM! THEY WILL NOT DO THEIR JOB! I WILL CONTACT THEIR CREDENTIALING BODY TO DO AN ETHICS REVIEW ABOUT THEIR CONDUCT AND PATIENT CARE! I expect after this review if I stay with them they will give me sugar pills, they should be EMBARRASSED for their medical neglect, but how is that possible when they simple DO NOT CARE?! Four days before Thanksgiving they didn't fill my script. I have an autoimmune condition. Was promised meds Tues but no it will come Wed but we are closed Thur for Thanksgiving it will come Friday but we have the medicine just "not this formula" my doctor calls from MIAMI for 1 hour they do not ANSWER to change the "formulary". They do not ANSWER my calls to TRANSFER my script to CVS who actually has the medicine and unlike this crap hole neglectful twat "do their job!" They give no care about their patients so I get to fall out of remission for severe ulcerative colitis or go to an urgent care or the ER whatever is open to get a new script to fill at whatever pharmacy is open on Thanksgiving. I do not get Thanksgiving I get to chase colon meds. THANK YOU WINN DIXXIE PHARMACY YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!!!! This place is wonderfully located. If you need something, it is right there. Service is great, but I'm not sure how management treats their staff. I tried the whole meat and vegetables "cook-in-the-bag" thing at the back, and it was good, except the seasoning completely ruined it, probably because it was old, so that was a waste of money. The lady who runs the store is very nice, and with me at least, just being nice goes a really long way . .. the employees are really good at getting to everybody, except in the customer service line by the door, but maybe that's just because people are getting money orders and the like, so I can't really say anything bad over something they can't control. Like I said convenient, although, I will say this: "Who in heck determined how the aisles work?" The labeling for the aisles is confusing, and seems not well thought-out. If I avoid going to this place, it's because I don't get the labeling. You have to look at the front of the aisle to see what's in it, makes sense; then, you have to look halfway down the aisle to see what else is down there, and not everybody can see that far. Why is the cereal to the far left? This is really just more of a suggestion for them: Put the aisles people use a lot in the center, where they are more accessible, like cereal and bread. The store seems big enough to me that you should be able to generalize the labels more, so you don't need to list them halfway, but I could be mistaken, and there was no other way. On 2 Oct 17 I went to this store to get some fresh shrimp. No one was at the counter, so I waited, and waited. I looked for a bell or a buzzer. Nothing anywhere. So I walked behind the counter and could see a young lady in the meat department. I waived at her. She finally came out and instead of apologizing for the long delay, lectured me to "ring the buzzer next time I need something". Again, I looked around...NO buzzer anywhere. She points WAY down into the meat isle for a buzzer about 6 feet off the floor. I looked at her nametag since she was so rude. Her name was "Sara". So after getting my shrimp. I measured the distance between the center of the seafood counter to the bell by using the tiles on the floor (since each one is a foot squared). It was 35 feet from the center of the counter to the buzzer! ARE YOU KIDDING? So I took a couple of pictures. That evening, I prepared the shrimp for dinner. I noted it has small yellow, fat like particles on it. I should have taken it back. I did not, and cleaned the heck out of each one as well as deveined them. So after dinner my girlfriend became sick and got diarrhea that evening that lasted until the next day. So that's a complaint on the store design, employees and the food they sell.
