An elderly woman who worked at the store immediately yelled at us, telling us that there was a lot of glass in the store and that we needed to be careful because we were not allowed to behave that way inside the store. I completely understand the importance of being careful in a store, especially around fragile items, and we never intended to damage anything. However, we were in an area where there was no glass around us, and I had simply tripped by accident. I felt that the situation could have been handled with much more patience, kindness, and respect, especially because we are teenagers and this was simply an innocent mistake. Later, we reassured her that we would be careful and would not break anything. When we were leaving, we explained that we were just kids, that things happen, and that we understood her concern. We also said that if we had accidentally damaged something, we would have taken responsibility for it and paid for it. Instead of accepting our apology, she became even more upset and began yelling at us. She called us an extremely inappropriate and insulting name, which was especially upsetting and hurtful. We were shocked that an adult working in a store would speak to us that way, especially after we had apologized and were trying to leave respectfully. I want to make it clear that this is not a complaint about the Dollar General store itself. The store was very clean, well-kept, and overall seemed like a great Dollar General. There was also another, younger employee working there who was very sweet, kind, and welcoming to us. Our experience was specifically with this one employee and the way she chose to speak to us. We left the store feeling very upset and embarrassed. We understand that employees have responsibilities to protect the store and its merchandise, and we would never intentionally break or damage anything. We also understand that we are teenagers and should always be respectful and careful in a store. At the same time, we believe teenagers deserve to be spoken to with basic kindness and respect. A simple request to be more careful would have been completely understandable, but the way this particular employee spoke to us felt unnecessarily harsh, humiliating, and unkind. I am not writing this to cause trouble for the store or its employees. I simply hope the situation can be addressed, because we would have appreciated being treated with a little more patience and understanding.

Winn-Dixie grocery stores have been around since 1925 and although I don't frequent this grocer very often there are times when I come here when Publix doesn't have what I'm looking for - on this day I was looking for one rack of St. Louis Style Pork Ribs. Fortunately they had a pretty good selection on hand, unfortunately I had to buy two racks being there was a BOGO going on and the single racks were priced at $32.00 each so it was a no brainer to grab a free one so now I have one for later I guess, on this day I would of preferred to pay $16.00 for a single rack and been on my way so they are clever in that way but still haven't convinced me to return except for my annual or so visit. I also picked up a loaf of French Bread from the bakery it was half the cost of what I normally pay at the other place but it wasn't close to the same quality but I guess there is value in shopping here especially if you have kids who are eating you out of house and home. Normally grocery stores located directly across the street from each other provides some competition but this store doesn't seem to have an impact on the prices on the place on the other side of Highway 44 - I guess each grocer have their own set of loyal customers and that's okay I'm sure I'll return when necessary...

The pricing is significantly lower, and the quality of the products is excellent. Since Aldi is connected to Trader Joe's, that quality isn't surprising. The store is always clean and well maintained, with none of the off smells you sometimes encounter in grocery stores from spoiled milk, produce, or meat. Parking is easy and convenient, and the handicapped parking is well designed for those who need it. The produce quality is very good, and the overall selection throughout the store is wide and well curated. I tend to feel overwhelmed in some grocery stores because of clutter and chaos, but Aldi feels organized, calm, and easy to navigate. The checkout clerks are very friendly and helpful; sometimes stopping to help a sweet old person that can't get the credit machine to work. (wait, that's me I'm talking about! ) I also really appreciate the strong selection of vegetarian options. While most grocery stores carry vegetarian items, Aldi stands out by offering them at affordable prices without sacrificing variety. We shop at Trader Joe's as well, and it's always nice to recognize familiar products on Aldi's shelves. A couple things to note for new shoppers: you'll need a quarter to use a cart, and you should bring your own bags unless you plan to purchase them at checkout. Sometimes boxes are available, too. It's all part of Aldi's system, and I actually appreciate the environmentally friendly approach. I do not normally leave reviews for big grocery chains, but with today's experience I would consider it necessary. Upon checking out, there are was only 1 lane open with a cashier that was not self check out. I had a cart full of groceries so of course I used that lane. I had meat, eggs, bread- lots of delicate groceries. The young man checking me out did not say 1 word to me, and he was quite literally throwing the items in my cart not caring about damaging the goods. I mentioned about it all piling up and he ignored me, kept scanning. He doubled scanned a few items, I mentioned that. He didn't say anything again. I waited for the receipt to double check and he did void the extras. I also had my baby with me so I had to haul the extra cart over to the side and the one I already had because my baby was sitting in it with our things. Normally, this is not typical behavior. Also I should mention, while this young man was running the register, the manager was standing behind him waiting for him to be finished and never said a word. Hoping for a better word experience next time....
