This was hands down one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a medical office. I ordered and paid for glasses and waited over a month. Then I got a text saying they were ready. When I showed up, they suddenly told me they didn't even have them. After wasting my time and keeping my money for over a month, they refused to give me a refund. Instead of owning their mistake or trying to fix the situation, the staff escalated things and actually called the police on me. That was completely unnecessary, unprofessional, and honestly disturbing. This place has zero accountability and absolutely terrible customer service. If you value your time, money, or basic respect, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

Will update once I get my glasses - this review is about the service I received today. As the initial visits with Dr and the fitting went very well. So it is 15 minutes before they close, not calling for a full appointment, just to pick up my glasses that were supposed to be back yesterday. I call the number 5 times to speak to someone and kept getting their voicemail, which I know they wouldn't check until next week. So, I decided to text the number as that is an option, and of course got nothing back. So at 1:50 I decided to drive up there, because they are evidently SLAMMED and SUPER BUSY.. what did you think I found when I got there in less than 4 minutes? A COMPLETELY EMPTY OFFICE WITH ZERO CUSTOMERS! No one up front checking on guest, just the entire staff in the back, getting ready to shut down at 2:00. I get it, it's close to closing time, but it takes 45 seconds to answer the phone and let me know my glasses aren't in. I guess customer service no longer ends when the business is actually closed. I used to love this place, but now I can't get an appointment on the books without a ouija board and a month notice. And when I finally do get one, they cancel the night before. *To reply* a) Your cancellation did not mention Covid, only sick, so how was I to know that? b) Your cancellation offered to reschedule only on a weekday when I repeatedly stressed to your office that I needed a weekend appointment. c) Nice job driving more people away with your snarky reply. The worst service ever! After wearing contacts for over 10 years, decided to switch to this practice. I went in for an eye exam and they could never get my prescription right for 3 months. They gave me the incorrect trial (some that was torn) contacts several times and I ordered a years supply of the wrong contact. Instead of correcting their mistake they said I'd reach my maximum for trials, leaving me without any contacts. I do not recommend-terrible experience! read more

Only came here because of the reviews. My experience was totally different. Woman at Front desk was cold and short. Came here for my 9 year olds exam. Not very kid friendly. Did little to ease her worries and explain what was happening. Learned that Student in training was left to perform her exam. Doctor came in room only at the end of what felt like a rushed visit. Refused to provide my daughter with her PD or OD since we would not be purchasing one of their ridiculously overpriced frames. Be warned to be treated like cattle. read more

Dr Tran is awesome. I've been seeing him for years now. He's kind, doesn't rush you, and does a thorough exam. The office staff isn't pushy and I've never felt pressured to buy glasses or sunglasses there. Clean office with the latest technology. You don't get that puff of air in the eyes here because they bought a new device to replace it that just tickles your eyelashes. Woohoo no air puff! read more

Please ask about the pricing for your exam & fitting as this place separates them. This is the reason why I'm giving it only 3 stars. I was told the cost of the exam & not the cost of the fitting which was an additional $70. With inflation running through the roof everywhere I was attempting to keep my cost low as I did not have insurance and had to pay out of pocket. When I explained the lady I spoke to did not mention this additional charge I was told I'd still have to pay the whole fee. I feel it should of been discounted or removed as I was t properly informed of the fee. That ruined the otherwise great experience I had there. All of the staff was warm & inviting but they really need to work on ensuring pricing is correct. read more

if i could give no stars i would, they have messed up my contacts twice already, i recently just got a new prescription and i thought they ordered them and fast forward today my dad called and they said they never ordered them, they have also messed up my dads prescription also twice, so i do not recommend this place at all, they waste your time and money and they are honestly really expensive too. Every year around this exact time, I block out my schedule to make the trek up to Little Elm for my annual eye exam here. Why drive so far? I assure you will not find better customer service. The office is new and clean. You'll be certain to find a large variety of eyeglasses to choose from. The entire staff is extremely friendly and will make sure you are well taken care of. Heather was sweet and kept me company while I waited with some chit chatter. Jorge made sure I was all set up for Dr. Tran with the preliminary tests. Dr. Tran is unlike any other optometrist you will ever see. He is extremely patient, knowledgeable, and is open to address any questions you may have. Just ask and voice your concerns! He really does care. At my last appointment, we went into depth about the eyes' ability to to see 2 dimensional vs 3 dimensional. It was extremely enlightening. I walked out understanding how to take care of my vision for the long run. read more

Difficult to get a hold of staff. No one ever answered the phone. Email and voicemail only go so far. I finally had to stop in in person to talk to someone. Did not return phone call when promised. They told me my visit would not be covered at all by my insurance, even though doctor is in network, so I canceled and went somewhere else and indeed the visit was covered in full. read more

Ordered glasses in January, here it is 02/27/2020 I was supposed to pick them up 02/29/2020. I called for an update, there is nothing on file; the receptionist said they would have to ask George and he is busy. I called back 3 hours later. They said your frames are discontinued, I ask why did you have my money for a month and not tell me, the receptionist Maria said I don't know this is what I am told. I said this is like stealing from me, you known about this but kept my money. She said I could come back tomorrow to get my money and it is not stealing because your getting it back. I asked to speak to her manager I said she was being rude, and she hung up on me. AVOID THIS PLACE THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU AS A PERSON, THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY. read more

If I could give them a zero I would. The "doctor" I saw was totally off. She sent me to a specialist who confirmed she made a bad diagnosis. And I have no idea where they got my medical history (which they forwarded to the specialist) I have NEVER been diagnosed with diabetes and neither of my parents had retinal detachment, glaucoma or macular degeneration which she put in my file. The only reason I went there is because their website said ophthalmologist but she is NOT! Kinda felt like a bate and switch. I will NEVER go back. read more

Can't say enough how staff at Wink took care of me this week. I had put off my annual eye exam due to Covid, but need new glasses so I called and set up an appointment with Dr. Tran. Dr. Tran's exam was very thorough, he answered every question; Jorge was very helpful when I ordered my glasses. I have high respect for Dr. Blois at Wink Eyecare. I first saw her a year ago and she listened to my concerns and made me feel good about becoming her patient. I have since returned and am glad she is my eye doctor. I feel I am in great hands. She sent me home with sample contacts to ensure I got the fit I preferred. Her staff is wonderful too. Dr. Tran is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. I've been a lifelong glasses wearer and during this years yearly exam , I decided to give contacts a try. I have astigmatism, and over the years I haven't had that much success in achieving clear vision and a comfortable fit with contacts. Dr Tran was very confident that my vision could be as clear or even better with contacts. Through a bit of trial and error and a few tweaks to my prescription, I am finally wearing contacts! This is by far the best eye care experience my husband and I have ever had! Dr. Tran is beyond helpful and knows how to communicate effectively to his patients. I have damaged my eyes due to bad habits from not changing my contacts and he is the first doctor to show me the ramifications. Due to Dr. Tran's eye exam I have changed my ways and have become more aware of my eye healthcare. My husband and I were overwhelmed by the great customer service of the staff and how helpful each and everyone of them are. The choice of frame ware is by far the largest I have ever seen in one retail space and with so many great selections to choose from! The environment is boutique, clean and welcoming. I am new to the area and needed an exam before the end of the year. I made an appointment for 10:20 this morning. I arrived 15 min early to fill out paperwork which was done on their laptop. Then I waited for 45 minutes only to be told they couldn't see me after all! They were 'running behind' but could schedule me for 4:20pm instead! Really?! I said no and walked out. There were only 9 eye clinics around me that accepted my insurance. ..so, I took a gamble and chose Wink! I gambled right..I have nothing to say that would have made my experience better. From the convo. on the phone before my appt. , to being greeted in the office, to being examined, to picking out glasses. Everything gets an A+! I even started to feel guilty taking up so much time at my appointment. They explain everything in detail! I left knowing a lot more about eyes. They explained everything so well, I could give the eye exam and help you pick glasses! Skip the other places...come here! read more

I have very mixed feelings about Wink Eye Care. On one hand, I feel like I got a good eye exam. But on the other hand, the optical and clerical staff there was pretty questionable. I won't go back. Making the appointment was very easy, as I just called and scheduled a convenient time. Between the time I made the appointment and the day of my actual appointment, I received more than a customary number of emails and texts from the front desk lady about my paperwork, about my reminders to show up, about the procedure for the general exam, about pretty much anything this lady impulsively thought to tell me on any particular day. It was almost like she had never had a customer book an appointment and actually show up with no problem. It was a bit much. Once I arrived for my appointment on the scheduled day, it was as if none of the pains-taking communication had ever happened. Here we went again with all the basic info. Good grief. The eye exam itself was great. Dr Tran was knowledgeable and informative. He explained so many things to me about my vision challenges and really educated me on choices I had for moving forward with glasses or whatnot. He was patient with me and let me ask several detailed questions. He was terrific and thorough! But when the eye exam was over, the optician guy out front really went overboard with the up-sale. It felt like I was on a car lot. He was really assertive/aggressive with his retail strategies. I had no use for more than half of what he tried to sell me. When you're in an optical retail establishment, it's still a medical issue. That isn't the time or place to jack with people as you're trying to make commission. Don't try to boutique me with needless stuff, man! I left with a quote for over nine hundred dollars of stuff that he was convinced I must have. Yes you read that right. $900 plus some! And that was after my insurance benefit. Lord! He even tried to tell me that Dr. Tran should have recommended something else that wasn't in my prescription. What a joke! Anyway, I took my prescription to another retailer and got three pairs of glasses for less than half of what this joker tries to get me for at Wink. My final complaint here is actually about a third office employee who was present during the whole ordeal. I'm not sure what her job was, but she sat at a table in the optical area and made noises and immature comments in order to make front desk lady laugh about some kind of online poll that the two had created. They giggled like little school girls and made a nuisance of themselves. It was pretty distracting while the assertive sales guy was trying in earnest to make his pitch. It was like a trip to crazy town! So in the end, I will acknowledge that I got a great eye exam. If Dr. Tran worked at another place I'd totally go to him again. But that power-retail aggressive-sales nonsense was way over the top. No way, Wink! read more

BEWARE!!! I just got went through a bizarre experience as a result of Wink mixing my profile up with another customer. I went to another eye care to get a prescription filled and was denied because they said my benefits good every 12 months and I had just used my benefits in October. Long story short, the last time I visited Wink was in 2018 but they reported to VSP that I had an eye exam and used my lens benefits in October. I had to go up to Wink to find out what was going on and the signed receipts and documents that they showed me under my name was not my signature nor the last 4 of my credit card but they had a picture of my driver's license and birthday in this other file with the same name. I questioned if they had another customer by the same name and the manager said they did but that customer was a VIP customer and was always taken care of by him. Wink was negligent in handling and verifying customers during transactions and caused unnecessarily distress; I was concerned my identify and information had been compromised. They failed to verify ID and signature on my driver's license during the October transaction. I got a call from the office's insurance person and she just apologized but found out from VSP, they Wink said they had a new person and transferred my information with the other person with the same name. The other disappointing factor is that when I went to their office yesterday, they didn't bother to compare my file with the other file...there should be no excuse for such a screw up as this. read more

I just started to wear glasses over the last couple of years as I have gotten older. I went to another eye clinic a while back and they really didn't help me much. Dr. Tran listened to the problems I was trying to solve and has done an excellent job of providing the right prescription to solve my problems. I really like the Optical Lab Manager, Jorge. He clearly knows his stuff and was super helpful in not only guiding me to a new set of frames that better suit my needs, but he also made some much needed adjustments to my current frames to make them much more comfortable and effective. read more

After relocating from Colorado, we needed to find all new doctors. Wink Eyecare has been wonderful. Both of my young sons wear glasses and the staff were patient and helpful with getting them in a perfect pair of new glasses. They were attentive and knowledgeable. Two thumbs up! read more

The absolute worst customer service. First it took me three hours to schedule an apportionment because the line was busy. (Red flag #1). I was finally able to schedule an appt. for the following week. Prior to this I received a text message ONLY confirming my appt. On the way to the appt. I was unable to locate the building so I called the office to see exactly where they were located as my navigation to me somewhere else and you guessed it the line was busy. I pulled over and began to call them repeatedly for at least five minutes. I then began to drive around and located the office on my own (this is a newly developed area and doesn't come up on all navigation platforms). When I entered, I was not greeted even though no one was in the waiting area other than the two male receptionist. I got to the counter and told them I had an appointment for 3:40pm, it was about 3:50pm at this time. The male receptionist asked did you fill out the paperwork online, I responded no. I didn't know about it, can I do it here (like all other offices) he said no. And we can't see you because we only have a 10 min courtesy for those who complete the paperwork online. I began to explain to him that I had been calling and showed him my call log, he responded we didn't answer because we are busy. Again there was no one in the wait area except for him an the other associate (on the phone). He stated that it wasn't his problem and that I would need to reschedule. I said never mind. First of all, I refuse to believe that a business does not have call waiting or multiple lines in 2018 especially if the line is consistently busy. Second, if there was paperwork that needed to be completed online they should send an email to new patients stating so with a link of where to find it, Third you don't have to be nasty if you don't know how to interface with customers you should NOT be in the front area. Wish I could say I met the doctor since I selected her based off of her reviews online. UPDATE to Dr. Tran, Thank you for comments on the map. However, the majority of the review is in regards to the service and the lack thereof, that started with scheduling the appt. There are several things that can be done to ensure other patients have a better experience, I hope you focused on these as much as your response to the maps. read more

I went into this location for a frame adjustment, as Lenscrappers messed up my frames. After signing the waiver, Ed adjusted my frames with a smile. Even though I did not purchase anything from Wink, Ed was professional and was not pressuring me to buy his products (although now I will). I originally visited Dr. Tran at his UNT campus, so I was excited to hear about his new Little Elm location because it was much closer for me. I have probably visited over 10-15 different optometrists over my lifetime, but none provide the exception level of customer service that I know I'll receive when under Dr. Tran's care...which is why I, once I discovered Dr. Tran and his UNT office, I returned to Dr. Tran time and time again with my eye care needs. Dr. Tran is patient and makes sure that his exams are thorough and accurate. He doesn't run his office like a factory and just try to churn out the most number of appointments and patients (like they often do at the optometrists' offices attached to those big chain stores). I love that he really takes his time to chat with you and get to know you on a personal level. And the new office looks amazing! LOVE the look and feel!!! read more

Dr Tran and the staff at Wink are professional, knowledgeable and wonderful to work with. My exams were very thorough and I was pleased with the open communication between doctor and patient. Staff manning the front of the operation were also courteous and swift to answer any questions. They also handled my insurance needs without issue. I would not say they have a vast selection of frames on display, but I was happy to learn that I could reuse my old frames with a new prescription. The only things I think they could improve on is next day delivery of contacts and glasses! read more
