Nice place to get eye exam or glasses. Very friendly staff and most insurances are accepted. Has a variety of frames to choose from and even tinted lens. Easy to spot in parking lot area in Lewisville by main street. Not very busy so easy to go in and out during weekdays. Busy on weekends sonetimes. Eye doctor is very caring and detailed. She genuinely cares about you and not just try to sell you on things to get your money like most. I trust her and this place to come only here. read more

My original review was written after my visit last year. Editing to include my experience from today. Made an appt for a yearly exam, hoping it would include thorough macular degeneration exam. When signing in, I was asked if I had completed the forms sent to me earlier. Despite getting two appt reminder emails, and at least that many reminder texts, none of those included a link or anything about completion of forms, so I was given forms to read and sign at the office. After sitting down, an asst came over to "clarify" that there would be a $45 charge today, not covered by my insurance. What for, I asked, since I was not charged anything at all last year? For "the prescription" I was told. I said, what "prescription"? I had cataract lens replacement years ago and have only OTC readers now. She just said, it's for you to get a prescription. I wasnt aware I *needed* a prescription, but thought maybe this was some kind of term involved with checking the macula, so I said OK. Exam complete, no need for a glasses prescription per Dr., back of the eye looked at via photos, no apparently degeneration happening. Dr. said I needed to come back to have a more indepth retina exam to be sure". As I checked out, I once again asked about the extra $45 charge. A different asst said, "It's for your glasses prescription" I said, none was given to me, since I don't NEED one. Oh, she said, you should have scheduled your appt for a "Full Eye Exam", then insurance would have paid for it all. What? How was *I* to know the exact verbiate to use when I called? And why wasnt this clarified on th phone while making the appt? She said she was sorry, and would make a note for next year to the effect that I don't need a "prescription". I said the communication on this issue was very poor and surely she could understand why this was irksome. She merely smiled as I handed over my credit card. In any case, no, I will not be making another appt here for macular or regular eye exams. I am fortunate to be able to pay the $45 but wanted to let people know that they should be v-e-r-y careful with their verbiage when they make an appt here. Dr. did do a thorough regular eye exam, but somebody needs to address communication issues here. read more

The whole family moved to this location for eye are recently. They do not see children younger than 5 so only my husband, teenager and myself had an appointment. The whole process takes about an hour. I had a trainee tech so I felt like it took even longer. Thankfully I'm easy going because I think anyone else would have been annoyed with the trainee. At the end when we were picking glasses it took awhile to check out and prices were not exactly explained. Overall there is a decent selection of glasses and the doctor is very nice. read more

I thought this was the clear eye care down the street, but as soon I was driving away Clear eye care cancelled on me and The Colony Vision Center was able to see me within5 minutes of waiting. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful through the process of getting new glasses and contacts. Dr. Myers was very informative when going through all the tests needed to be done. The space looked and smelt brand new inside with a wide selection of glasses to choose from! I would highly recommend this business. read more

Dr and staff were nice, but my glasses were made with way too strong of a prescription. After a few days, I had to switch my new lenses out with my old lenses to stop from getting headaches. I can't get a refund on the new lens, so I am out $200. Also, whoever cut the lenses to fit my old frames did not do a good job. The lenses did not fall out but every time I touch my glasses the creek and pop because the their were gaps between the lens and frames. I was told they could do another exam but what happens if these new lenses are not right? I am out another $200? No thanks I will just eat the money and go to another eye doctor. read more

I hate going to the doctors but I have to say that this office makes it more pleasurable than most. I'm not the easiest patient to deal with and they were surprisingly accommodating. I've been contemplating contacts for years but always been put off by the sensitivity of my eyes. The doctor and her assistance made the process and integration from glasses to contacts a lot easier than I'd ever expected. Now that I have contacts I can choose whether or not I want to wear sunglasses and I have no more worries about miss placing my reading glasses. So happy, thanks again! read more

BE WARE!!!! I had my annual vision exam at the Colony Vision Center, I went and had three pairs of glasses made using the prescription she wrote and I could not see out of any of them! I called The Colony Vision Center to ask for a recheck and they said they would have to charge me full exam for the recheck. I work for Essilor Luxottica the worlds leading optical company, I speak to Doctors and Optometrist all day long. Optical staff who advocate for their patients. THE COLONY VISION CENTER does not care or ADVOCATE for their patients. The Colony Vision Center had a bad reputation here in The Colony, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt, HOW WRONG I WAS, I have 3 pairs of new glasses that I cannot see out of and spent over 1000.00 thanks to THE COLONY VISION CENTER. I have been under Dr Myers care for three years now. I have never had better eye care in my life. Dr Myers takes the time to explain what is going on with my eyes as I age. What I need to do to protect them. She is great. Her staff is wonderful. They me and my family. They know what styles I like and make sure the glass fit right and that I see clearly. I have had hs. The entire staff is wonderful & strive to give excellent service. Wide variety of (cute) frames, as well! My husband was thrilled with his new prescription after years of visiting other doctors, and having 'okay' prescriptions. Easy to schedule a visit & handle insurance details. Personally, I like pricing to be explained as I'm offered upgrades, some things weren't, but it wasn't anything that I didn't want/ didn't already know based on previous research on my end. Wow...this place is fabulous! I am not picky - okay, yes I am - LOL!!! And, because I have astigmatism, it's SUPER important my optometrist NOT sell me the "one option fits everyone" special or push what's on trend in the industry - because, simply put, friggin' multi-focal contacts DO NOT work on patients with astigmatism (more than one optometrist has told me this; quite frankly, I find it ridiculous the lenses are even presented as an option to patients with this condition...the poor, unsuspecting contact lens wearer walks around winking at folks all day - becoming an unwitting sexual harasser trying to adjust the darn things - or is left constantly putting in eye drops all the time because the bloody things have dried out from all the stupid blinking the wearer has to do trying to simply see clearly - INSANITY, RIGHT?)! Anyway, I digress...this is a really AWESOME review about a really AWESOME place. So, after searching Yelp, I called up on a Thursday afternoon and was able to set up a Saturday morning appointment for the next week. Got there at the appointed time, filled out the normal paperwork, and then was very quickly seen by the optometry assistant who LISTENED when I said my small pupils might be problematic if they dilated them using the newer, picture-taking technology vs. the old dye-in-your-eye-and-wait-15-minutes method. Know what these awesome people did??? THEY DID BOTH PROCEDURES - JUST TO BE SURE!!! Dr. Myers and her very capable staff subscribe - shock and awe, folks - to the school of LISTENING TO EACH PATIENT AND DEVELOPING A TREATMENT PLAN WHICH WORKS FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL PATIENT! This means YOU walk out the door with lenses that actually fit YOU, not your cousin or your neighbor...nope, YOU! Why this seemingly novel concept hasn't caught on with other optometrists is beyond me but it's their loss because if ANYONE asks ME, I'll be recommending them to Dr. Meyers and Colony Vision Center from here on out. I have been a patient for many years and I think the current staff including Dr. Myers is the best. I have tried other places and they never get my bifocal right. Never had a problem here and the frames have always been better quality. Dr. Myers is thorough and caring. She even sent my most recent exam results to my Endocrinologist since I have recently been diagnosed with diabetes. I hadn't even thought to ask her to do this. read more

My daughter lost her contact while we were in Dallas on vacation. We had to get her Rx renewed to get her some new contacts. This place accepted our insurance so we made an appointment. The dr she saw DRASTICALLY changed her Rx. (Change from a 1.75 to 2.5 and 2.75 to 4.0). We even mentioned that it seemed like an extreme change. After struggling with eye strain we finally bit the bullet and paid for another exam from her regular optometrist. Come to find out, her prescription hadn't changed a bit. Poor kid had been walking around with a terribly wrong Rx to the point that her eyes were pulling in. We called back and they wouldn't do a thing about it. Due to my last honest review, they denied me service. After 20 years of business, you would expect a more professional attitude. However, I was told because I wrote an unfavorable review , it was their right to refuse me. All they had to do was honor the first issue like professionals and be responsible to a loyal customer. Be wary of this doctor..... doctor's office only cares about the patient until they receive the money. After a few contact fittings the doctor could not get the prescription corrrect and she told me to choose between two options, which neither were correct, and not come back. I had already paid for part of the contacts, which i did not receive, with the initial visit and the office refused to refund my money. The gentlemen in front of me commented on having to have his glasses remade for the 2nd time. Dr. was occupied with a child care issue and could be overheard in the lobby. Will not return. neighbor referred me- they won't return. Looked up positive google reviews and found they were placed by staff members. No reviews on facebook, wonder why.
