8/7/23 3.5 stars today and much better than our last visit/review We walked in, was warned that it was a 30 minute wait which we appreciated for sure. We ordered our usual 30 classic wings and tried the new lemon herb remix which is now our new fav over the lemon pepper. Hubs and I usually like the dry rub wings. My oldest has migrated to saucy wings like bonchon flavors. We got 10 of each flavor Lemon Pepper Lemon Herb Remix Spicy Korean Q (for my oldest) We requested carrots and extra crispy fries. Fries came out regular like normal. Not extra crispy at all. Carrots we're fresh looking and they didn't skimp on us. Condiment station was a mess. Tables weren't cleaned. It felt like they were short staffed today too. Will say that this is a hot Togo place as there were plenty of Togo / pick up orders waiting.

    The 5 peace tender meal

So u ordered the 5 peace tender combo and I didn't have time to check of how they looked and after I drive back home and I was ready to eat but it was so bad that I took a bite and I spat it out it was just so bad that I will NEVER come back again to this horrible location and the fries were super uncooked and they were super saggy and they didn't have any seasoning on top of the fries and FOR THE TENDERS they didn't have a single drop of sauce on them and they were burnt and dry from inside that it felt like I was chewing on rubber and the food is literally cold like they js put it in a microwave and set it for 5 mins and served it to me and it took the over almost a hour to give my order.

Voodoo fries, and Cajun/ garlic parm boneless wings.

First of all I just want to give a huge shoutout to Tayla. She was super kind to me and my order was completed on time when I came in. I order here from time to time and I understand the wait times can be frustrating, however, I think you guys should cut the employees some slack as they are working hard to keep up with the amount of orders. There is typically only 3-4 employees that I see working when I come in, sometimes 2. As for my last order with this restaurant, the service and food were great. Fries and wings were loaded up.

Poor quality lemon pepper they served me.

The staff were responsive and was always around to take our orders, refill drinks or simply answer questions you may have. Tables were promptly cleared and made available for the next set of guests. The food was great! The staff were always checking on you for your next order. And after you place your order, it also didn't take long for your order to arrive. The grill plates were always changed like in every 15 minutes or so. You always have a clean grill to cook on. The place was nice and really well lit. The place looked like industrial decoration, but mainly for the air extraction vents on every table. And these extraction vents were working very well. We left the place and we didn't smell of cooking fumes on our clothes! You should come out and try this place when you're in the area!

Gangnam Ave has been my absolute favorite KBBQ spot for years, and after trying several places…read morearound Sacramento, this one still tops them all. Honestly, it's so good that I haven't even felt the need to keep searching for another go-to. I've visited with small groups of 3-4 people and also larger groups of 6-10, and the experience has remained consistently great overall. One thing I like about Gangnam Ave is how their pricing works. Instead of the typical lunch vs. dinner menu, they offer Option A or Option B, where some premium meats are excluded from the cheaper option. It's basically the same concept as lunch/dinner pricing, but I appreciate that it isn't tied to the time of day. For reference, they open at 4pm on weekdays and 12pm on weekends, which feels pretty reasonable to me since KBBQ is usually more of a late lunch or dinner type of meal anyway. The variety of meats is one of the main reasons I love coming here. When I do AYCE, I'm going all in -- usually 4-5 rounds -- so I'm not trying to stick with just basic bulgogi. Gangnam Ave offers things you don't always see at other spots like small and large intestines, pork jowl, beef tongue, and spicy baby octopus, and the marinades here for some of the meats are flavorful. I've eaten at other KBBQ spots over the years for different reasons (my sister even worked at Oz for several years), but Gangnam Ave will always have a special place in my stomach. The appetizers are also solid. Their corn cheese is easily my favorite -- instead of a flat dish with watery corn and melted cheese tossed on top, they give you individual foil cups so you can throw it on the grill and melt it perfectly yourself. I'm lactose intolerant and still order it every single time. The steamed egg is always fluffy and never overcooked, and it pairs perfectly with the meats. I also usually order their soondubu; I'm not overly picky about tofu soup, but as long as it isn't watered down, I'm happy -- and theirs always hits the spot. Their drink menu is small but fun, especially if you like soju. They have some mixed soju drinks, and there's a strawberry + Sprite one with a strawberry-infused ice cube called Super Shy that has become my go-to whenever I visit. Sweet, bubbly, and dangerously easy to drink. Now for the meat itself: it comes out raw, of course, so the final result depends on how well your group can grill. If you've got someone in your group who knows what they're doing, you really can't go wrong. Portions are reasonable for the group size, orders usually come out pretty quickly, and they change the grills every round or two. Most tables have one grill for every four people, so larger groups will typically get two grills. Like most KBBQ places, the experience can depend on your server. I've had many different ones over the years -- most are great, a few are just okay -- which probably explains the mixed reviews you'll sometimes see. Personally, it's never been enough to ruin my experience. A quick tip: reservations are highly recommended for groups of four or more, and they'll usually ask ahead of time if there are kids in your party. If I had to nitpick anything, the dipping sauces are pretty simple and not particularly memorable, but nothing is perfect. The restaurant itself is small and dimly lit, but I think that's part of the charm. It feels cozy and homey -- the kind of place where you can sit around the grill with friends and family and just enjoy the moment. I've made a lot of great memories here over the years. Before moving out of state, I used to come here almost every other month with different groups of friends or family. I've included photos from several past visits with this review because they really show how often I've come here over the years. If anything, they're proof of how loyal of a returning customer I've been. ;) no bonuses or perks besides good food lol. After you're done pigging out, you can grab Melona bars or taiyaki ice cream fish sandwiches from the freezer near the front for cheap. Or if you want to extend the night, there's a Baskin-Robbins right next door for dessert. Parking is also pretty easy, and even though the lot gets a little dark at night, the bright lights from Gangnam Ave make it easy to spot. Maybe I'm a little biased because of all the good memories tied to this place, but there's a reason I've been returning for many years -- even before COVID. If you love AYCE KBBQ and want variety, good marinades, and a cozy vibe, Gangnam Ave is absolutely worth checking out.

I knew what I wanted as soon as I saw butter chicken gyro on the menu. They even have a butter chicken quesadilla! I decided on the gyro and upgraded to a combo so I could get fries for my kids. The fries were actually the highlight! I do wish they put more in the bag though. The gyro was a little disappointing only because I was expecting a creamy butter chicken. If I had ordered a regular chicken gyro then this would've been fine, but I was expecting that rich sauce with it. This one needed to be drained more too, the chicken was so juicy that it made the entire gyro soggy and dripping. I also wish it had the tzatziki white sauce on it like in the photos! Otherwise, it was great service, they were friendly and very quick too. I will still be back despite this not being a perfect meal. I'm looking forward to trying other things like the loaded fried or build your own bowl!

I'm not one to say no when trying new spots, so we dropped by the closest one to Tahoe (that was open late) to grab some takeout. I used their app which I think is why the wings were free? I can't recall for sure. The shrimp was fine. Lots of batter, but to be expected from a fast food chain. The shrimp was a lil rubbery, but dunking it into the sauce kinda hid all that. Also, the flavors were very mild. Especially the ghost pepper. Not much spice. The hubs seemed to enjoy his chicken sando. It was a decent size. Fine for a popeyes open later. Would probably just stick to their chicken. The fried shrimp was just okay. REVIEW #4025
