I placed my order through the app for pickup (pro tip: avoid the crowd!) and yes--it was packed inside. But hey, it's opening day! The energy was buzzing, the vibe was fun, and the artwork on the walls? Totally Instagram-worthy. I snagged the Dave's #4--1 Slider with Fries. The slider was the real MVP: juicy, spicy, with that dreamy combo of kale slaw, pickles, and Dave's sauce on a fluffy potato bun. Chef's kiss! The fries were alright, and the mac and cheese... well, let's just say it was giving "boxed nostalgia." Overall? Still a strong debut. I'd say give it a try--just maybe wait for the hype to cool down or order ahead like I did. Welcome to the 203, Dave's!

I stopped by around 1 p.m. on a Wednesday. Surprisingly for lunchtime, it wasn't busy, and my order was ready quickly. I ordered the Hot Sliders with a side of mac and cheese. I enjoy the flavorful Nashville style dry seasoning they use...it has a nice kick without being over the top. The chicken was juicy and tender, but I was hoping for a crispier coating. The mac and cheese paired well with the spicy chicken and helped balance the heat. Compared to the other locations I've visited, this one was better than Milford but not quite as good as the BK one. That said, I still prefer Haven Hot Chicken. Overall, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything that stood out either. Connecticut has no shortage of great fried chicken sandwiches, and with so much competition, Dave's just doesn't make it to the top of my list.

Decide to give it a shot 9 years later at a different location and WOW, what a difference!!! Prices are stupid expensive $11 for just the burger(free topping). Evidently They have a special mayo made from them just for five guys , $3 for a small fountain soda, $5 for a small french fry(but they put a ton extra in the bag). The french fries are made fresh there, even had a sign on the wall where that weeks potatoes were from. This week's potatoes are from Canada as Idaho potatoes are not in season the employee explained to me. In the end Price is worth it. Service - was incredible helpful but the place was not busy at all seeing you was 11:15 AM. Within the 8 minutes of waiting for my food, huge rush people came in, and the people behind the counter were taking burger orders, even before customers came to the register. As for the interior of the place - absolutely nothing special about the place just some tables, top chairs and some basic four seaters.

Hubs and I had 2 chicken sandwiches - delicious and crispy chicken on a soft bun. We enjoyed every bite. The ranch dressing was homemade and really good. (Tip: Try dipping teriyaki into ranch - trust us!) Bobby the manager was super friendly as well. It's a tiny, no frills place that just opened, but they're making yummy chicken here.

The floor is so coated it's slippery and I could feel the grease and grime with every careful step I took. The table felt greasy and even the menus were covered in a layer of grease. It's unfortunate because the guy who welcomed us in and served us was fantastic, and the food was really good too. But because it's so gross inside I don't think I'll ever order from them again. Whatever they're using to clean isn't getting the job done, period end of story. They need to shut down for a day or two and use some kind of solvent grease cutting cleaner and literally clean EVERYTHING floor to ceiling, and they need to clean the menus or better yet order new ones and make a point to clean those off daily. They probably need to have their ventilation system checked because to have that much grease and grime on everything means the grease from the kitchen is just in the air floating everywhere. It's really a shame - management should be all over this. Can't imagine there's not a health code violation here somewhere.
