If you aren't that hungry you can seriously feed a couple people off of one of their entrées. And boy-o-boy let me tell you it is good. Like really good. We got waffle fries with chili and cheese, the crazy burger, 4 piece buffalo chicken tenders and a grilled cheese for the kiddo. My son ate as much as he could (picky toddlers) it was served on huge texas toast type bread. I had a bite and it was buttery and cheesy, everything you could expect from a grilled cheese but better. The crazy burger was so good, i had to split it and still only ate about 1/4 of it. The meat had just the perfect amount of char. The chilly cheese waffle fries dipped in their ranch topped my meal off to perfection. I seriously don't want to hype this business so much it makes you think in b.s.ing but it is that good. I seriously cant wait to eat my left overs.

Very friendly service willing to help new customers with suggestions. She suggested as a first timer to get a burger. I chose the Crazy Burger. She warned me it was a large serving. Crazy Burger-Double beef patty, grilled onions, bacon, & thousand island. I made it a combo with Fries and a drink. My wife got the Bacon Avocado Chicken Wrap. Also in a combo but with Fresh cut Onion Rings. This burger was massive. Bigger than my open hand. The burgers had a perfect crust on them. The fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The wrap was perfect. Very filling and full of flavor. The onion rings were fresh cut with a light batter coating. This was a great first impression. Definitely on the return list. Even worse, an employee reportedly put an oil sprayer in their mouth and then used it on customers' food. That is beyond unacceptable--it's disgusting. I will not be ordering from here again, and I strongly urge others to think twice. This is a serious health risk and needs to be addressed immediately. I do want to thank our DoorDash driver for being honest and looking out for us her transparency is the only reason we knew what was happening.

Friendly service just seemed odd during the dinner hour. I was the only customer for a while. This place seemed to maybe be in a transitional phase. Maybe new owners? Just did not feel like they were ready for business. The place was clean it just looked a little unfinished. I ordered the Loaded Mac and Cheese. It was okay. I've definitely had better. The chicken was great! Hot and fresh. The Mac and Cheese was okay. Definitely could do with an upgraded recipe. And I think the cheese was from a nacho cheese bag. Like the ones used for nachos at the ball park. The jalapeños were a nice thought but just didn't mix well with the whole meal. Honestly was hoping this was going to be better than it was. Just didn't mix well not live up to my expectations. Like I said maybe they are in a transitional phase. Not really in a hurry to go back.

The food (ox tails, greens/cabbage, cornbread dressing) is really 5/5, it was seasoned wonderfully and the portions were good for plentiful leftovers. The live DJ was nice and music was very good. It was cafeteria style and I really couldn't tell what the wait was.

Diners get a slab of bovine that nearly takes up half the plate alongside vegetables and loaded mashed potatoes. I was very impressed how my steak came out just as I requested - medium rare - and I couldn't get over how super tender and juicy it was. Maybe it's just me, but when the meat easily melts in your mouth, you have to slowly enjoy it. The veggies were fresh and seasoned nicely and the mashed potatoes came alive flavor wise thanks to the shredded cheese and bacon bits. I just wished they were a bit bigger to match the steak portions wise. As for the establishment itself, a bit noisy, but it can be easily overlooked by the laidback vibe. I really dug the music that was blasting through the speakers. One minute, it was Luke Combs. The next, Pantera. I'd say this place can be a hangout for me when I want to catch the Astros, Texans, or Rockets.

My spouse said the chicken tasted off and not fresh, which was really disappointing. My quesadilla was pretty bland on its own, and while it came with salsa, it mostly just tasted like lime with very little depth. The pico was just average and did not add much. The staff was friendly when we first arrived, which we appreciated, but our server checked on us constantly about every few minutes even while we were actively trying to eat. It felt a bit overwhelming and made it hard to enjoy the meal, even as mediocre as it was. The ambience was also underwhelming, especially since the lagoon on the back patio was empty, which took away from the overall experience. Opened this summer, Mr. Taco is Texas City's newest Mexican eatery. It's located about a block away…read morefrom the fairly busy Palmer Highway, which makes it a little hard to spot. But once you arrive, you're in for a real culinary trip south of the border. I dropped in very eager to try one of their taco plates. While the pictures on the restaurant's Facebook page had already piqued my appetite, I wanted to see for myself if they were the real deal. So, for my first meal here, I ordered the Pastor Street Tacos. Like at any good Mexican restaurant, my meal began with chips and salsa. It's an unwritten rule of mine that if the complimentary chips and salsa are good, the main dishes will be just as good, if not better. Fortunately, that rule holds true for Mr. Taco. I tried both the red and green salsas, which were truly spicy--a definite plus in my book. The tacos arrived after a few minutes. While the menu said they were miniature--there were four in total--they were a perfect portion. Anchored by marinated pork and topped with fresh onions and cilantro on corn tortillas, the tacos were accompanied by a bean-filled consomme and rice. With just one bite, I imagined myself on the streets of Guadalajara or Monterey; the authenticity was simply evident. I occasionally dipped the tacos in the consomme, which I could describe as a bit earthy and salty. Overall, the meal was incredibly enjoyable. This dish is a prime candidate for a go-to order on a return visit. I was very well taken care of by our waiter, Samuel. The meal's spiciness had me quickly finishing my water, but he kept the glasses coming without me having to ask. While working on the meal, I was parked in front of one of the business's massive TVs, which were tuned to the Astros game. That said, I consider Mr. Taco an ideal place to catch a game. It helps that it's open until 10 p.m.--or 2 a.m. on the weekends--though a staff member told me that's assuming they're not having a slow night. Price-wise, I'd say the costs are quite fair. My platter was about $13, which would be roughly three dollars more elsewhere.
