Stopped in for the first time on a friend's recommendation because we figured most places would be…read morepacked on Mother's Day. This place was not empty but not busy either, which had me a little confused. I was also confused at the overall rating, based on my experience. First, I'll get the negative out of the way: the AC was busted, but while it was warm in there it wasn't unbearable. The AC in the men's bathroom was working though. The service was friendly and not too slow. The restaurant otherwise was clean and pleasant aesthetic, with plenty of TV's throughout to check out sports ball. The reason I'm giving 4 stars is for the food. I got the Carolina burger and it was really enjoyable! The patty was cooked and seasoned nicely, and they added a nice portion of toppings, from the slaw to the delicious chili, and the fries were crispy and salty. Great bun on the burger too topped off an excellent meal. Only caveat there is I ordered potato salad and not fries, but I wasn't too upset with what I got. The server offered to swap out my fries for potato salad, which I declined (really, she should've just brought the potato salad in addition, but it's okay). I would come back, especially if they fix the air.

J Butler's was a fun spot to grab a late Wednesday night dinner. One of the few local Kernersville…read morespots open past 10pm. The menu is being updated but it seems they focus on doing a few things great instead of dabbling in a multitude of dishes. It was late so it wasn't very crowded. It would be a great place to watch a game and grab drinks. Our waitress was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. She made certain we were well taken care of. My burger was really good and my fries we nice and hot! My dessert was ok they only offer the brownie with ice cream so I was expecting it to be spectacular but it was just regular, I was also tired so that could have attributed to my underwhelmed dessert experience. Overall I would go back for the southern hospitality and a great burger.

I decided to take the team to lunch. We were fortunate to have a team member who arrived first to…read moresecure a table for us. We continually had to drive around the building in search of a parking space. Several of our employees were from out of town, and they were concerned about getting towed. It took them over 20 minutes to find a parking space and another 15 minutes to walk to the restaurant, as the entire parking lot was full. Next, we ordered from their extensive menu, which offered plenty of options. The waitress was fantastic and the food was fresh. The place was packed but clean, and we weren't cramped in the building. For the amount paid for eight people, it was worth the visit and likely a revisit.

(3.25 stars) Casual dining may be declining nationally, but…read moreevidently Sixty Six Grill didn't get the memo. It's in that same TGI Friday's/Ruby Tuesday/Applebees tier, yet its full parking lot suggests brisk business. The location - it sits on a busy stretch of 66 - may explain some of that though Sixty Six isn't without other virtues. Spacious and well-staffed, Sixty Six isn't the kind of place where you'll have to wait long to find a table or receive food. It's dark and a bit noisy but not headache-inducingly loud. The menu is decently large, boasting everything from apps and wings to burgers and sandwiches to Tex Mex and pizza. There aren't any real surprises, but there's enough variety to accommodate most diets. For our lunchtime visit, my wife and I split a fried pickles app followed by a jalapeno burger (with sweet potato fries) and a Nashville chicken sandwich (with chips), respectively. Admittedly, the fried pickles didn't make for a very attractive-looking plate. Instead of golden brown pickle chips, there were thicker, lightly battered slices. However, they tasted just fine and paired well with a zesty dipping sauce. Speaking of zesty sauces, the chicken sandwich had it aplenty, and it made for a satisfyingly messy bite. The chips were homemade and rated above average. Unfortunately, Sixty Six overcooks its meats. Under all the sauce, the chicken itself was a bit dry. My wife ordered her burger medium well and received it well beyond well done. As with the chicken, it was still flavorful despite the doneness issues. On food alone, Sixty Six isn't a strong draw, but factor convenience and versatility into the mix, and it becomes a solid lunch option.

Me and my husband stopped into Wingstop today, and the experience was just... alright. Not…read moreterrible, but definitely not what I expected. When we first walked up, my husband asked, "Are y'all even open?" because they still had that little lockbox thing on the door, like the kind people use when they go out of town. I know it's probably standard (Marco's Pizza next door had one too), but it threw us off. And then when we walked in, the energy was flat. No greeting, no smiles, just that vibe like nobody really wanted to be there. I literally said, "You don't wanna be here, do you?" and chuckled to myself. We asked about the menu and the girl at the counter, Bri or Bry (not sure on the spelling), was giving us prices. At first I thought she didn't know how to ring us up, but she actually did, I was just asking a lot of questions. She kept it cool, but didn't smile until the very end when she said, "If you do the survey, you get free fries. My name's Bri!" And I was like, "So wait... we gotta do work just to get some food?" And she said just smiled.. like, "Yeah, you gotta do some work to get the free stuff." We both laughed, but I wasn't wrong! It's like every little thing costs extra, no family-sized options, just à la carte everything. I ended up spending nearly $30 just for my husband and myself to get some meat. I ordered my go-to: 8 lemon pepper tenders (my fave), and my husband got the mango habanero wings. Food was fine, no complaints there. But between the pricing, the setup, and the lack of energy when we walked in, it just didn't feel worth what I spent. Not the worst place, but definitely not the best. Might try it again on a different day, but right now, it's giving "meh.
