Located within Smokey Bones, the smoked wings are next level. We tried the Bone In Smoked Wings in Buffalo Medium & Buffalo BBQ. They were both incredibly delicious and made both of us break a sweat, and we are used to hot foods. The ranch was the perfect pairing to the smokey boldness of the wings. Though we don't often order wings from takeout, this may just be our new go to for when we do order them and we are already looking forward to ordering some of the unique fruity flavors.

My mom, my niece, and I visited Bourbon House in Oakbrook on Saturday around 6:00 PM. We completely…read moreunderstood that it was busy and that there would be a wait, so the wait itself was not an issue. Unfortunately, the experience from the moment we sat down until we left was extremely disappointing. First, the soda from the main machine was consistently flat. After receiving flat soda multiple times, we eventually had to ask for refills directly from the bar because that was the only way to get a drink that was actually carbonated. We ordered an appetizer, a pizza, and an Alfredo fettuccine with breadsticks and a salad with ranch. Our server was Marlo. The pizza came out a full 20 minutes before my niece's pasta. When her meal finally arrived, it was completely incorrect. Instead of what we ordered, Marlo brought chicken Alfredo fettuccine with garlic bread and a Caesar salad. My niece's entire order was wrong, and it had already taken 20 minutes longer than our food to arrive. After we pointed out the mistake, Marlo did bring out the correct pasta and breadsticks--but it took another 15 minutes. By that point, my mom and I had already finished eating. My niece was essentially left waiting for her meal while the rest of us ate. Then, when we received the check, we were charged for the chicken fettuccine Alfredo and an additional dollar for the Caesar salad, neither of which was what we ordered. Marlo did not come back to our table for quite some time, so I eventually went up to McKenzie to have the bill corrected. She fixed the charges without me explaining everything that had happened, which I admittedly should have done. What was most disappointing was that, despite the incorrect order, the significant delay, the repeated drink issues, and the fact that my niece didn't receive her correct meal until my mom and I were already finished eating, there was absolutely no attempt to acknowledge or compensate us for the experience. Instead, the only explanation we received from Marlo was that "everyone is new." While I understand that people can be new and mistakes happen, that doesn't excuse the overall lack of communication or the way the situation was handled. We left feeling both rushed and ignored, and the experience was unnecessarily frustrating. Mistakes happen in restaurants, especially when it's busy, but what matters is how those mistakes are handled. Unfortunately, we did not feel that ours was handled well at all. For the price and overall experience, I expected much better and left extremely dissatisfied.

Thankfully, they offer…read morecall-ahead seating, so we called on our way over and were seated almost immediately when we walked in. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd want from a neighborhood taproom: casual, lively, and family-friendly. The bar is huge, with an impressive selection of draft beers (especially if you're an IPA fan), and they also have bourbon bottles available for purchase. We ordered burgers, and they were all really good. One bun seemed a little stale, but it didn't take away from the overall meal. The cheese curds were a standout: piping hot, crispy, and definitely worth ordering. The beef nachos, on the other hand, were a bit disappointing. They arrived cold and just didn't have the same wow factor as the rest of the food. My sweet potato fries were a little soggy, but I took the leftovers home and popped them in the air fryer the next day, and they turned out fantastic. Overall, I'd definitely go back. If you're looking for a laid-back spot with great burgers, a huge beer selection, and a menu that has something for just about everyone in the family, dog and kid friendly, 859 Taproom is a solid choice.

The corn muffins had a nice flavor. I could actually eat two of them. The server was extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. The patio is nice and open, but the inside of the restaurant has zero character. It gives old-country-BBQ-restaurant-that's-not-in-the-country, so it feels out of place. Flavor was seriously lacking with the creamy Mac & Cheese and the cole slaw. Salt and pepper were my friends today. What was supposed to be the star performers let me down. 1. To begin...the meat samplers were actually small for the price. 2. The pulled chicken seemed more minced than anything. There was some flavor there, but it was just too dry for me. You have to smother it in BBQ sauce. 3. The problem is the BBQ meats had a chill on them, and when the chicken's chopped that small, it cools off almost instantly, so you're stuck eating lukewarm-to-cold meat. 4. The beef brisket was dried out too. This place was a one and done for me.
